My dad after 35+ years made the decision to move from his single-family home. I was overwhelmed…read morewith the amount of things that he had and decided that an estate sale might be a good route to go. I used Yelp to contact Poof Estate Services and quickly got a response. I made a consultation appointment and received a few emails with a lot of good information regarding estate sales and how to be prepared for the consultation. Was told to start putting in piles things that we want to keep versus things that could be sold in an estate sale. The day of the consultation, Allison came and was very approachable and friendly. However, she told us that since we did not have over $10,000 worth of stuff to sell, that doing an estate sale would essentially not be worth their time. I was a bit annoyed that this information just wasn't shared upfront. I get some people have hidden treasures, but I could've told the initial contact person that I highly doubt we have $10,000 worth of things to sell. Allison gave us a piece of paper that spoke about what we can do now that an estate sale with them is not possible. Suggestions of using Facebook marketplace, donating items, and trashing companies that they have worked with in the past. Again, she was super sweet and knowledgeable regarding her craft. But I wish I knew all this before, even having a consultation, felt like a waste.

This is a one and done type of business. Poof Estate Services lacks professionalism, honesty and…read moreaccountability. I would NOT recommend this company. As soon as I signed their contract I felt my value to them as a client was greatly diminished and was met with very poor communication. Following my initial review posting, the owner requested a phone conversation to discuss my experience. During this call, the owner was aggressive, deflected from the issues and my concerns, and asked me to remove my online review. I am honestly stating my experience for others to take into consideration when looking to hire an estate company.

WARNING! Do NOT go to her sales if you expect fair business. I made a pile of items I wanted to purchase and was told all of her earrings that were on the costume jewelry table that were not marked were $3 each. I found a pair of suspicious looking gold earrings on the costume table and decided to purchase them. She gave me a weird look when I grabbed them, but didn't say anything except that they were $3 each AFTER seeing that I'd grabbed them and had them in my hand. After I finished shopping, I started to check out, and she totaled up some of my items. When she got to the earrings that she told me were $3, she said "Oh, I have to loop these." When I told her that she'd told me they were $3, she stated that they were 14k gold and that she'd have to weigh them and price them accordingly. I would've been more than understanding of this if she hadn't already quoted them at a price of $3, if it wasn't 30 minutes before closing and they hadn't been sitting there ALL day, and if she truly was kind about the situation. But to know those earrings had been sitting there since she opened the sale at 10am, and that she'd told me the price even after knowing I had them, is an extremely unprofessional move. I told her she'd already quoted me the price, and that she was not being professional. She stated that she was just looking out for the customer. If you were TRULY looking out for the customer, don't price your items $30 over market price. Nearly every other thing I picked up in the entire house was FAR higher than eBay. That's what most in the business would call RIPPING OFF YOUR CUSTOMERS. And why in the world if you TRULY want to do what's BEST for the customer, go through your items for the estate BEFORE you put them out for sale and put a price on them! The sale was located in White Lake on Lynnwood Lane. To the owners: I hope that she truly sells them for the gold price to another buyer and doesn't pocket the extra money for them.
