It is an old set of residences that have been converted into a B & B. I have a Jetta, so I could get in and out fairly easily, but I wouldn't be sure of anything much larger than that. Also, whether from the street side or the parking lot side, you're going to have a hard time getting around with a large suitcase. And if you yourself are larger than average (even if you are simply tall), the bathroom may also be a struggle, as it is really smushed into a small space. All that being said, it is a beautiful building and you can't beat the location. It is right by a subway station and in easy walking distance to Bell Centre. I felt perfectly safe walking back after the Hab's game. And leaving was pretty convenient too, as it is really close to a highway ramp.

Th is inn would be a much better experience if they had a different guy at front desk. His name is Sam and he's very rude and uptight. He claims to be the manager.I've met the owner and it's hard to believe he'd hire someone like that to be manager. It takes away from the charm of the place. He is especially rude to women and he acts like he knows me well. But I don't even know him. The location is good being close to a nice part of downtown all within walking distance. The shower in the room was cool plus there was a bathtub next to it. If anyone has a problem with front desk guy his name is Sami El Hassani. e

Everything from the hosts and food to the furniture and decorations sum up to a first class experience that simply surpasses that at every hotel I have stayed at. I contemplated posting photos of the delightful interior of the Gingerbread Manor, but in doing so, I would simply be ruining the surprise for the handful of people who might stumble upon this review. We booked a room with a private bath (de Maisonneuve) which was equipped with all the amenities one needs. The bed was comfortable to the point where it was hard to simply get out it each morning during the days we were there. Every morning, we were served breakfast by Ephraim. Each meal was complemented by a parfait starter and mini-desserts. It must be said that the coffee was excellent. But besides the quality of the food, the experience would not be the same without Yves and Ephraim. While we were out and about every day, we didn't have much of a chance to see Yves. Yves was the first to greet us upon arrival to make us feel at home. We spent most of our days chatting with Ephraim, who was a terrific host that I would liken to be a "walking Wikipedia" for everything Montreal. Our morning conversations were long and engaging covering topics from culinary arts and political science to music and technology. His restaurant recommendations were refreshingly honest and we never made a bad choice. He has my heartfelt gratitude for the introduction to the heart-attack inducing Canadian dish of poutine! The lovely Gingerbread Manor is a five-star experience. The hosts run a first-class operation, which is reflected in their personality and ability to make their guests feel right at home. I have no need to try any other B&B or any hotel the next time I return to Montreal. I might not even go back to Montreal if a room at Gingerbread Manor is not available.

You can bring take away here and eat at the big dining table, or cook dinner, just be respectful of their no-meat kitchen. It reminded us of home since we live in New Orleans, yet felt just more luxurious. The Marie-Anne suite downstairs is particularly wonderful. We were lucky to receive an upgrade for our first 2 nights and stayed there before moving into the small upstairs room that we had booked (the St. Laurent) for the remainder of our stay. The claw foot tubs in both rooms were great for relaxing after long days exploring the city on foot!! Breakfast was a delight: fresh fruit & croissants, yogurt & granola, delicious juices, even eggs cooked perfectly to order. That definitely exceeded our expectations for what would be available in the mornings.. The location is another of Casa Bianca's best aspects. It faces the park of course, and then it's surrounded by streets full of interesting shops & restaurants, which makes for days full of fun walks and great shopping. We ended up having to buy a duffel bag for everything we picked up along the way, and we didn't come here to shop much! Public transit is pretty easy to deal with too, although it's on the high end at $3 a person (at least that includes a transfer or two). Sophie, the manager, is a great hostess and her assistants are very friendly as well. We got some great recommendations for nearby restaurants, jazz bars, etc. Check in here and let them take care of you!

Our room was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The pictures on the website give only a tiny glimpse to the beauty of the design! We were in the Blue room and we had a large sleigh bed with comfy blankets and pillows, a wall mounted CD stereo, a wall mounted television with built-in DVD player, a phone with directory, a mini-fridge with bottled water, a HUGE bathtub big enough for two, and our own fireplace. They gave us one log for the fireplace, which was plenty for the night we were there. I think if you want more its like 5 bucks or something. Parking was scarce and we had to park in the back for an additional charge a night. In the living room area there is a shelf full of DVDs, CDs and games to borrow. The hostess also helped us find a place to order pizza, gave us directions to a store to get some sodas, and answered all of Chris' political questions: P I didn't pay (thank you, dearest), but it's down one star for being a tad expensive.

It's located two blocks off of Sainte-Catherine, so you are right next to one of the larger touristy areas without having to worry about being kept up all night due to the drunken revelry taking place on said touristy areas. The rooms are color themed (personally I love the white room as it has a hot tub that is at least as big as my queen-sized bed, as well as a really nice porch) and the place is crawling with art. In addition to this, they also have free wi-fi, and the last time I went, our room actually came -with- a computer to utilize said wi-fi. Seriously, if you are willing to spend a little more, this is absolutely one of the best B&Bs you will find anywhere. The staff is awesome, the rooms are awesome, the breakfasts are beyond reproach. I wish I could live there.

Our room was pleasant, the bathrooms were clean, and the breakfasts were delicious. A typical breakfast there consists of pancakes or french toast or an omelet with fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee or tea. And always a side of maple syrup. The host, Tony, is friendly and will make sure you are comfortable. He speaks French and English and, I believe, also Italian and Spanish. He is happy to explain how to get around Montréal. And he is happy to make recommendations on restaurants and tourist attractions. As tourists, we found the location to be perfect. (See discussion below.) You won't need a rental car if you are using this B & B as a base for exploring the city. If you do have a car, there will be no assigned parking space for you; however, there is free street parking nearby. Repos & Manna is located in quartier Petite-Bourgogne (Little Burgundy neighborhood) on the quiet and pleasant rue Quesnel, within walking distance of numerous nice restaurants. This B & B is two blocks from métro station Georges-Vanier, where you can quickly and economically get to Centre-Ville (downtown) and Vieux-Port (historic old port). In fact, the métro will take you most places in Montréal that a tourist would want to go. You can get from the PIerre-Trudeau international airport to this B & B using express bus 747. A transit pass can be purchased from a machine in the airport terminal, and that pass is good on the buses (including the 747) and on the métro. You will take the 747 bus to Lionel-Groulx, which is within walking distance of Repos & Manna. There are YouTube videos that explain how to purchase a transit pass at the Montréal airport terminal and how to find the 747 express bus outside the terminal building. So, even if you are new to Montréal, you can, with a little homework, figure out how to get to Repos & Manna from the airport terminal without having to rent a car or engage a shared-ride service.

You check in and then you're on your own. The room is clean, yes, but clean rooms are table stakes. I had the one bedroom apartment and it's tiny with too much furniture but whatever. It's ok. But there is no room service at all. No housekeeping service. No sign of people besides the front desk clerk. Also this "hotel" is not in a cool area. It's sorta nowheresville with nothing around it but new generic, condo buildings, all next to a rather bleak canal. I wouldn't stay here again. But if the price is right and it's a short stay and you're looking for an apartment to rent and not a hotel room, then sure, do it. It falls into the category of "not bad". They still find it in themselves to charge you upwards of CAD$20 per night for parking. Hmmm. Can you do better ? Try.
