You can walk for miles here and just want to keep going - wondering what amazing structures and businesses are "just one more block" away. An absolute bonus was that if you walked up a bit and turned left you entered Montreals gigantic Chinatown (which seemed mostly Vietnamese). The dining options there, and everywhere else in walking distance, were endless. That said, I had some of my best meals in the warm and cozy basement restaurant of the hotel. Top quality and service. Sadly, although it's hard to find information on the internet, it appears to be closed. Why? Why? Why?!? A great loss of a wonderful unsung gem. It was not part of the Auberge Collection. We also had difficulty locating the hotel in the dark. The front desk clerk couldn't help us locate it despite my describing the very distinctive store next door. Could not advise on where we could park the car. Second day, front desk clerk couldn't recommend anywhere to find wine and snacks. Check out day, requested our car out of valet with 45 minutes notice and they failed to retrieve it which resulted in an even longer wait.

All rooms have brick and stone interiors, but if you want a view, you have to ask for the 4 or 5 rooms that face front. Le Petit Hotel Notre-Dame could have so easily been a 5-star offering had it provided better appointments in its rooms. In addition to the humongous king bed, there was only a single armchair in our "large" room even though there was space for two and a small table so we as a couples could have sat together and had a glass of wine. Instead of letting us settle in to the French Canada experience by letting us unpack our suitcases--there were only 2 small drawers under an open hanging rack--it could have easily put a double wide dresser in the alcove under the 55" TV. Round bedside tables hardly more than a foot in diameter weren't big enough for our books, eyeglasses, phones, sundries. And the tiny reading lights on each side couldn't be pointed far enough onto the bed to actually be useful. On the other hand, the solicitous staff was top-notch, functioning like concierges. They served artisan coffees to guests 24 hours a day at the front desk and would bring them to your room. There was a nice continental breakfast with whole fruit, juices, yogurts, assortment of breads, hard-boiled eggs, salmon & cheese slices. All rooms have brick and stone interiors, but if you want a view, you have to ask for the 4 or 5 rooms that face front. Be aware that although Le Petit Hotel Notre-Dame is virtually next door to the Basilica Notre-Dame and the lovely Place d'Armes, it is also right next door to a government building currently under construction through 2025 and into 2026 with noise starting at 7 a.m.

Nathaniel checked us in, helped with our bags, and made us feel so appreciated and welcome. He booked our dinning reservation FOR US. And when he found out we were celebrating an anniversary, he brought out a fabulous white wine for us. The rooms are clean, modern, but unique. We booked two and were able to stay on the same floor and spend time in both rooms. The hotel itself makes you feel like you're staying with family in the way they brought up our coffees and breakfast. This is one of those places that has some great points, but definitely isn't for everyone. If you…read morehave mobility issues or a large vehicle and need parking, this is not the place for you. It is an old set of residences that have been converted into a B & B. I have a Jetta, so I could get in and out fairly easily, but I wouldn't be sure of anything much larger than that. Also, whether from the street side or the parking lot side, you're going to have a hard time getting around with a large suitcase. And if you yourself are larger than average (even if you are simply tall), the bathroom may also be a struggle, as it is really smushed into a small space. All that being said, it is a beautiful building and you can't beat the location. It is right by a subway station and in easy walking distance to Bell Centre. I felt perfectly safe walking back after the Hab's game. And leaving was pretty convenient too, as it is really close to a highway ramp.

He is especially rude to women and he acts like he knows me well. But I don't even know him. The location is good being close to a nice part of downtown all within walking distance. The hotel has lot of interesting facts about Montreal posted throughout the hotel and the individual rooms. I loved learning about the city. The staff was unbelievable! Every single person we encountered was so friendly and inviting and made me feel like a special guest. They all spoke English which was a plus for us. We were super excited about the breakfast boxes that were to be delivered to the room each morning. They came with a croissant with jam or a danish, along with cheese and either nuts or a bar and a bottle of juice. We loved getting them each morning! The hotel was in a great location in Old Montreal. If I ever come back here I'm definitely staying at Uville!

We checked in at the main hotel lobby but were staying in the Lofts. An attendant helped us to the room on the second floor with no elevator and then parked the car for a daily fee. The room with a kitchen a living room area was very nice. We stayed three nights. I would only recommend a towel bar or hooks in the bathroom, change the battery in the clock, and larger mug cups in the kitchen. We enjoyed one of the three restaurants. I had a lobster roll dinner at the seafood one. The hotel is in the heart of old town and walking distance to restaurants, shops and the St. Lawrence River.

There are two restaurants on site. We did not try the lobster restaurant but enjoyed our meals at Gaspar.
