Skip this place. I miscalculated my mpg's vs fuel remaining while hauling a trailer with the…read morenorthern wind and was forced to stop. For one thing their prices are about $0.20 higher per gallon than the going rate. Second, the first pump I used only dripped out maybe a gallon every 10 minutes...so when I noticed after changing a kid's diaper that I only had 0.53 gallons I had to stop it and go to a different one (that was still pretty slow). Aggravating. I was thirsty but didn't want to give this company a dollar more so I didn't even go in the convenience store portion. Bathrooms are below average. Bottomline: get gas in Salina or Russell so you don't need to be here.

The pump area was clean and stocked with the super long squeegee sticks that make it possible to get the top of my windshield. The fuel, once you include the 10 cent discount for scanning your Love's app barcode. Inside, the store was stocked with snacks, cold drinks in the coolers, roller hot dogs and a full coffee station with brew-to-order. The men's room was clean and I appreciate that they have the little button there to rate the cleanliness. Absolutely "green" today! Consequently, it is easy to find yourself low on fuel occasionally. It seems to me that during those moments there was typically a Love's around the corner. This Love's is right outside the town of McPherson . It is not the largest Love's I have been to and it is geared more for big rigs than passenger cars, UT they do have pumps for both. They also have a Hardee's attached to it, so if you want grab a burger, there is that! I just grabbed some snacks and a drink inside the convenience store section. The store was clean and the employees were down home and freidly people. I would not hesitate to stop here on future trips to Kansas.

I have spoken with the store manager several times and as far as I can tell, she has had NO response from her district manager. I was simply wanting a refund on the spilled gasoline. I refuse to shop this store any longer even though it is by far the closest store to my home. My husband has a lawn care business and he no longer purchases his gasoline there either. It's too bad that customer service is nonexistent at this store.

Then we found out we had the wrong charger so my husband went back in. The cashier had no clue how to do returns so my husband went to get the right charger and told him to subtract the price of the other charger. I'm guessing this cashier was new...it didn't look like he had help. My husband came back to the truck with the correct charger but forgot to get cigarettes. So a third time in the store then we were done and ready to get back on the right. The service is good here, they just need to train the employees better before leaving them in the store alone.

It doesn't look like much from the road, and I had very low expectations from the exterior of the building, but I left feeling like I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover... or in this case a gas station by it's weathered exterior. At any rate I rushed in with my kiddo and found the restroom to be super dated, but honestly comfortable and clean. It had the retro pink tiles that at this point have basically come full circle and I found to be endearing. It was also a super cold day, and the building didn't have great heat in the restrooms so they had a little space heater running, which I thought was super considerate and made it much better for a little stop. Aside from that, the space for sure could use some updates, but it seems to me that it serves as more of a community spot rather than a busting travel center. The folks working all seemed to know people that came in and they were very friendly to me and my daughter. I don't know when I'd return here, but if you're on the road and have to stop, don't run away from this place - it's better than it looks!
