The food definitely hit the spot. I ordered the sizzling pork sisig, one chicken inasal thigh, and beef kare-kare (there was no oxtail). The sisig had egg mixed into it which I'm not normally used to with my family's recipes but it was still exactly the flavor I wanted. A good portion with rice too! The Kare-Kare's stewed sauce was actually pretty good and my mom makes the beeessttt Kare-Kare so I have a fairly high standard for that. The beef pieces were a little big and tough though so I had to cut them up, but the taste was there. The chicken inasal came off the bone and wasn't dry which is what I like, but my family is from Bacolod, Philippines and I definitely prefer it a little less saucy on the outside. It was a little too sweet for my liking but I know it would be fine for some of my other family and friends. All in all this was a good cultural experience being away from home, made me feel less homesick. Thank you for the time and love you put into the food. read more
