Had an early dinner so saw this tasting room and decided to stop. It closed in 50 minutes and when we walked in there was no one in the tasting room. The gal eventually came out and when asked said there was plenty of time for us to enjoy a flight. There were two different red flights and we went with Heritage flight as she said it wasn't as sweet as the other. Both were $12 for 3 pours. It consisted of a Pinot Gris (crisp and refreshing and ended up being our favorite), Rosé and a Cab. She offered a Pinot Noir as well and added it to the cost of our flight making it $15 for the four of them. Cabs are our go to red - this one wasn't as full bodied as we usually enjoy. The gal was pleasant to visit with but she did not discuss any of the wines or offer much information on the wines or winery. If asked she was good to share but I always enjoy hearing about the wines and history of the winery. read more

Our sixth Harvest Host location and first winery was D.H. Lescombes Winery & Tasting Room in Deming, New Mexico. This is New Mexico's largest winery, with locations throughout the state. This location has a winery and a bistro. The staff was really friendly when we arrived and told us where we could park. We arrived and parked in the large level lot. An hour or so after we arrived more RVers started showing up. Our purchases at this location were lunch in the Bistro and a few bottles of wine. The bistro has a small selection of items on the menu. We both had the Chicken Parm Sandwich which was very good. If you have dogs be aware there are lots of goat heads that get stuck in their feet. read more

Not only did we find the original makers of the wine we were in search of, but we also met and had the pleasure of being served by two of the sweetest and most awesome servers in the tasting room. My wife and I recently made a special trip to Deming to visit the winery because we had such a wonderful time there the first time we visited. Now, granted it has been a long time and the name has changed, but the experience was awful. On our first visit we got free tastings, which by the way is the norm for almost all f the other wineries we have visited. Now they is a basic charge and an upcharge to select the wines. There was no food there before, which is ok since the food now is just as expensive as the bistro in ABQ, but the menu is limited and you get the food on plastic plates. At the bistro now and at the winery before there was a discount if you purchased a case. Now I can get their wine cheaper at Total Wines. For being at the source of the supply I felt that DH Lescombes wasn't interested in promoting sales at the WINERY in Deming, We are very disappointed. read more

Used to love visiting here every time we were in town. Was a wedding guest here last week and left in shock after witnessing the bartenders lewd behavior. Those ladies were more focused on looking for a "sugar daddy" than doing their actual jobs. One of them actually said that to my father in front of my teenage niece with my mom no more than 15 feet away. Wildly inappropriate and gross. Sad because this is a beautiful winery but with employees like this it really ruins the experience and makes it distasteful. read more

Definitely the gem of Deming! It's a few miles outside of town and sits on a huge plot of land with plenty of parking and room for activities. The tasting room is decently sized with 8 bar stools, about 5 tables and a few arm chairs. We were assisted by Norma, fantastic by the way, throughout our tasting and purchase. The first two samples are free then it's $6 for six 1oz pours, which is more than enough to try one in every category. Personally, I enjoyed the Malvasia and Hatch Green Chile wine! They are well known for their premade mimosas and we were told they have three bistros across New Mexico. I would recommend making a stop if you're in the area- it's not too far away from the Faywood Hot Springs either! read more

I stopped by this winery on my trip home to Dallas from Deming, NM with my boyfriend & father. I did not know I was going to have so much fun! We stopped in to do a couple of tastings and yes the "biggest winery in NM" drew us in! The staff there was incredibly nice and very educated. Esperanza allowed us to sampl, and was really able to pick out our unique tastes and show us all wines we loved! My dad ended up getting two bottles of their cheaper port, (which was delicious) my boyfriend bought two jugs of their wine on tap (yes, I said on tap!) and I bought six bottles (including their hatch chili wine, peach wine, Chardonnay, and my favorite a Cab-Zin) and a jug of their dry red wine. If you have never been here and thought about going I would recommend checking this winery out for sure! We had a blast and left with great wine. read more

We arrived approximately 600pm and the winery closed at 7. Will the wine served asked us if we wanted a flight but pushed just to have a glass. The pour was very light, but it was a good a sweet Cab. He seemed in a rush to get off work and even stated to his coworker about it was now 645pm. My husband stated we would purchase 2 bottles $25 each and requested another glass. Instead of opening a new bottle he got another insufficient pour. If you purchase wine we are use to getting free flights or a glass of wine. In addition with each Harvest Host we have received top notch service, background tour, a history about the winery and special tasting. We won't return. Beauty in the desert!! A simple drive outside of Deming that leads to a plant/store, that, was done with love. They were getting ready for an event outside when we drove up. It honestly seemed like a great venue. Inside there is a ton to buy from wine to t-shirts with super cute glittery diamonds. All of the t-shirts had fun sayings on them. We did the wine tour which was interesting. What was cool was tasting the wines out of the different oak barrels. All of which were in the different stages of the fermenting process. It was great to see, smell and taste how wine matures. We also tasted the Sangria which was about to be bottled and it was so super yummy and refreshing. We had to buy a bottle. They have a small menu here not like the full menus at the St Clair restaurants. After we finished the tour, the winery staff, had a complimentary cheese plate with crackers ready with all the trys of wine our hearts could desire. This part made the tour very fun as you can imagine. The service was awesome never once did they make it seem like we were overstepping our bounds with to many trys. My favorite wine is the Mimbres Red a sweet table wine but it is not overly sweet as some sweet wines can be. I would definitely stop by the next time I am passing through Deming. read more

What a lovely spot after a long drive through the mountains. Lora and Dawn were fun and informative. Just sit at the bar and get to know them. I had a flight wine tasting, followed by a glass of the Petit Verdot. But I bought their current featured wine - Native.Unusual interesting wines along with a Nosh plate - perfect! I actually stayed overnight in the parking lot with harvesthosts.com. They welcome their door to RV travelers. Peaceful and and the sunrise is amazing.
