With the fabulous new owner and storefront, this is THE only place I order flowers from. The owner, Katy, listens to what I wanted/flowers/color theme and stays within my budget and I'm blown away every time I go to pick up. They also last for weeks! My mother just received a gorgeous delivery for her 85th birthday today as well. Sorry to say, not from me but rather a family member out of state who went online looking and picked D'Rose on her own which speaks highly. Delivery was not on time and included only part of the order. When the other part, the chocolate, was delivered later it was just left on the door knob on a sunny day, without telling the intended recipient. When found it was not chocolate anymore. I used D'Rose recently for an order I placed for my mother's birthday. I was able to look through the arrangements online and then selected the one I wanted. When I called the store and spoke to the service representative, she said there would be a $10 delivery fee, which I was fine with. The flowers arrived and were delivered on time, but I was charged nearly $30 more than the original price of the bouquet online! I understand $10 + tax, but that should not have been $30! This was the only flower shop I could get to answer the phone in the area though, so maybe it's slim pickings. Luckily, my mom loved the birthday flowers and all is well. D'Rose always delivers great-looking arrangements, even on short notice. They're a true local florist and absolutely worth giving your business to. But, I have to take a star off because, when you order using their online system, they will call you the next day to get your card's security code over the phone. That's not how online payments are supposed to work. I shouldn't have to worry that an online order's delivery may be contingent on me being available to answer a phone call a day later. read more

Called and ordered flowers for my daughter birthday. % g=hours later they called and said they were out of flowers yet heir website advertises the flowers they have for sale. Called again and the manager starts to argue with me even though I called this time to ensure they have flowers. Manager was unprofessional and blamed everyone else but his business. Even with a world-wide cut-flower shortage, they had fresh flowers and a broad selection so that the beautifully arranged bouquet I bought three weeks ago is still going strong. Bill and his assistant arranged beautiful flowers for my mother's burial last Saturday. My mother was known for growing lovely roses, and the arrangement of sweet heart roses and Queen Anne 's Lace was so reminiscent of her garden. It brought tears to the eyes of many. The sunflower arrangements also were beautiful....fresh and very natural in lovely vases. I called from California to have flowers delivered to my niece who is graduating from Virginia Tech Veterinary Medicine this weekend. They were so pleasant and kind on the phone. They took their time with my order and were able to accommodate my request despite the fact they are really busy with all the graduations. Then Jasmine had to call again to talk about modifying our message card, which we had not considered since the delivery date was changed. I called long distance and they were great. My granddaughter started as a freshman @ VA Tech, so we wanted flowers delivered to her. The dorm security doesn't let delivery people inside. My granddaughter didn't answer her phone when the delivery person arrived, so they couldn't make the delivery. They called me to let me know & the next day completed the delivery. After searching on line (from out of town) to find a local florist to send a sympathy arrangement in Blacksburg, VA. I selected and ordered via the website a basket of flowers for delivery. D'Rose called me immediately to let me know that one of the filler flowers in the image was out of season, and talked through the options. The woman who called was super conscientious. The best part, is that the recipient took a photo of the arrangement, and sent it to her daughter, (not me) and said it was the most beautiful arrangement she had ever received in her 80+ year-long life. The arrangement was actually BETTER than the image on the website. The colors and artistry was beautiful, and definitely not the typical "FTD" offering. D'Rose saved the day for me after their store hours! I called them and they were closed but it was important to get my order in for the next day delivery so I ended up calling their cell phone # which they leave on their voicemail message and was able to put in my order with a very nice kind gentlemen who was driving and he pulled over on the side of the road to take my order. This is an exerpt from an disgusted email that I sent to the owner, Bill. I was just sent a picture of the Make a Wish standard flowers that you delivered to the recipient. I have never been more disappointed in a delivered product before as I am with yours. The picture on your website and on the Teleflora website is nothing like the product that you delivered. The product you show on your site, which mirrors the Teleflora site is full of vibrant colorful flowers with hardly any fillers. The delivered product has perhaps 1/4 of the flowers that is shown on the picture and has more green from the fillers used more than anything. I intentionally choose to order directly off your website than through Teleflora even though your site charged $10.00 more for the same product for two main reasons. I believed that you would at least deliver an identical if not a superior product as shown on your actual website, and second, the intended recipient a florist herself, personally knows the owner, Bill. If this is the type of product you give to those that are willing to pay 33% more and to recipients that you know, then people need to be informed to take their business elsewhere. Word of caution, don't order from these guys, they obviously dont send out what they show on their own site. Update: After writing my earlier review about my order, the recipient of the flowers I ordered was contacted at 10:30pm by the worker who made the flowers by text. Why the florist or their employees decided to not call me, the person who ordered the flowers regarding the order is beyond me. Yes that is right 10:30PM as in very late at night. So unless you want the innocent recipient of your flower delivery to be harassed late at night about their extremely sub par products, skip this florist. I hear that they are planning on opening a second location. I recommend everyone pass on that as well. read more

You are always taking a chance calling any business 11 hours away, but I was instantly confident in my choice. I was ordering flowers for my son's date for the Junior Ring Dance at Tech, and wanted them to be very special. The extremely kind gentleman who helped me gave me several options. When he told me the price I was completely taken aback by the small price tag. He assured me that the amount he quoted me would be plenty to get something perfect for the occasion. He certainly did not disappoint! The flowers were exquisite! It would have been very easy for him to try to "up-sell" an easy target from far away, but he gave me exactly what I needed at a very moderate price. They are the best! read more

I have received a lot of flowers in my adult life, and I am an ardent flower lover. If you want to send a bouquet to someone using D'rose, I strongly recommend AGAINST it unless you are present and can approve of the bouquet they make. My son sent me flowers for my birthday. A very sweet impulse was totally thwarted by a bouquet of flowers that looked like leftover bits on the first day, was half dead on the second day, had to be totally revamped on the third day, and tossed out on the fourth day. Sure, they were apologetic, but that didn't make much difference. Careless and sloppy doesn't do it for me, no matter that the delivery man was so into telling my husband to have a blessed day several times. The flowers were a complete waste of money. If you use them, be sure to supervise. read more
