I hired him for a large job in August 2018. Addition: Garage, loft, sunroom, greenhouse, patio, deck, and walkway. He asked for five checks (3 postdated) before even scheduling the first part of the hob, so he could cash them and pay sub- contractors and buy materials AS NEEDED. He immediately cashed two of the checks before scheduling the first part of the job. $6,960. I found out he had no workers, so I introduced him to my friends who worked in construction. He hired them off the books. He put them on my job to do demolition on my property: tear up old patio, walkway, and deck. He never called to have a survey done for utility lines until the demolition was done and I saw cables exposed. I insisted he make the call. After my repeated insistence a tech from 811 DIG came out. It was recommended to NOT dig in that area. I asked Osborn to come up with a new plan and cost breakdown so we could go another route to rebuild what he torn up. Osborn delayed providing any revised plans, drawings, and breakdowns, so he could cash the rest of the checks I had given him. $15,000. I continued asking for plans, but he went on vacation. I asked again when he returned. He never provided them. After repeatedly asking and him lying about when he would get them to me, he abandoned the job completely. He never did any work at all, on demolition. I had to hire an attorney, He dodged court whenever he could. He never produced one piece of evidence in his favor. The judge ruled in my favor but the day before we were to appear in court for the judgement in February 2020, when he was supposed to pay me the money he had stolen, he filed bankruptcy. I had to appear in bankruptcy court with evidence of his fraud. I am now awaiting word from the trustee nearly four years later. I have spoken to several other customers he screwed over. I will make sure that anyone who is looking for a contractor knows what this man has done and does not get hurt by him.
