I give them 5 Stars for the concept and the fact that they tried really really hard. In reality the execution had several of the things tasting the same. I loved all the handmade dinner plates and serving pieces, but the bowls made sharing difficult. Our favorites were the roasted carrots and the beyond burger sliders. The highlight of the meal were the desserts. We almost didn't order dessert but ended up sharing one piece of the carrot cake and one piece of red velvet. These 5 star cakes saved the meal! I subtract a star for the fact that they do not take credit cards or CASH! Only local debit cards, which means that we could not pay for dinner. We were taking our daughter and her friend out to dinner and unfortunately they ended up having to pay as our US cards we're not accepted. This is kind of crazy. And pretty embarrassing.

This is a great place to go for a long weekend getaway with children. I'd recommend booking one of their special package deals to save a ton of money. The rooms here do sell out, so if you're not careful you could be spending 160 euros per night for a 6 person room instead of 70-80 euros per night for a regular room. I'd also recommend bringing a car, because there is no grocery store close by, and they don't sell any food or supplies in the hotel. If you want to go shopping in town then a car would save you tons of time as well since the buses only run once an hour and are usually late, sometimes even a half hour late. Their hotel restaurant is pretty decent. The dishes are of course overpriced, but you get a lot of food. Their daily free breakfast is one of the best I've had. They have lots of cheese and cold cuts and eggs and other protein sources, as well as 6 different kinds of bread and 4 different kinds of American breakfast cereals, in case you're into the carbohydrates kind of thing. The rooms seem to have good sound and light insulation, but the architecture in the larger rooms is kind of weird. There was a set of Dutch death trap spiral stairs coming right off the bathroom upstairs in our 6-person room, so if you took one step to the right when you left the toilet, you'd go tumbling down a tall flight of stairs. They had a baby gate available to block the stairs from small children, so that sort of made up for the feeling of danger. But I would have preferred to have a room all one one floor. Also the photos on the website bared little resemblance to the actual room itself, so take the images on their website with a grain of salt. Overall I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick getaway to one of the remote Dutch islands.

There's a selection of gimmicky touristy souvenirs and also weird drug substitutes (which I think are probably fake and don't do what they say they do). Staff was friendly and answered our questions. We mostly browsed and only bought a few pre-mixed cocktails (bacardi & raspberry) to brown bag. Convenient and reasonably priced but there are others of this same genre of store in the neighborhood.
