My Dad had Stage 4 Lung Cancer had been through 2 Rounds of Chemotherapy, it shrank the Lung a little, but then he became resistant to the platinum in the chemotherapy... :( In January the Lung Cancer had spread to the Brain and they immediately did Radiation of both the Lung and the Brain. Also around January he Fractured his Rib and had Pneumonia. He had a Month off after Radiation and had 2 Doses of Immunotherapy about maybe 4-6 weeks ago. He had alot of the Symptoms that typically come with Immunotherapy. He had on and off Neuropathy, had 2 Falls, had some kind of Infection/Fever, had low blood pressure, has AFIB, was in the ICU on March 22nd for about 10 days ago...Some Medications they gave him in the ICU gave him Diabetes, due to possibly the steroids... Unfortunately the Lung was Stable, but the Brain Cancer had come back. He seemed to be doing almost better in the Hospital. He had been in Rehab at Sunny Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for about 2 weeks. He had a Private Room which was really nice The 2 weeks in Rehab He had been wicked Fatigued, Weak, Had Barely been Eating and Swallowing - I really wish they could have helped him eat, at Home and in the Hospital hed wake up late, order something. At the Hospital he said he loved the Pancakes. Hed eat a few bites, but in the Rehab he was on a soft food diet, had a little Ice Cream, would have water, was trying to eat. I did notice theyd serve a Full Plate and it just wouldn't appeal to him, wasnt what he liked at all or would necessarily eat. And they would come in and serve breakfast early in the morning. But he was the type that would sleep in late, he was never the type that would wake up at 7am to Eat Breakfast. My few Suggestions would be 1.) Try and Accomodate what People would want to Eat 2) And Accomodate at what time they like to Eat We were hoping hed get stronger, and that he could get help walking. But, they had to put him on a Medication to hopefully Increase Appetite, he definitely lost grip, and his voice was off, he had something called Thrush... He couldnt be in Treatment or get more Immunotherapy b/c he was wicked weak. We were going to try and get him Home on Monday April 11th. Then On April 7th he experienced Low Oxygen and he Needed Oxygen On April 8th They had him on Morphine and Oxygen and he died Friday Evening April 8th around 6:30pm/7pm with me and my Aunt Holding his Hand and my Mom Lovingly By His Side... My Mom thought the Staff was really nice to her.

I called their HOME HEALTH 24-7 number, 603-681-3500, at 7:45 am and got a recording the call was being transferred. then, i listened to music for the next 5 minutes. no one answers the phone! i tried a 2nd time and again NO ONE ANSWERS! i called the main number, 603-893-2900, several times and no one could help me. i asked for the RN on duty and she transferred to yet another voicemail in orthotics! the poor receptionist (who was very nice BTW) tried connecting me to Emily, director of HOME HEALTH and I got voice mail. i called back again and was finally connected me to the secretary of the CEO, Stephanie, who tried to patch me through to the director of the HOME HEALTH CARE DEPT. Weeelllll...... it took the CEO's secretary almost 15 minutes to find the head of HOME HEALTH CARE so we could do a 3 way conversation. i'm writing as this is happening. what a circus! I finally spoke to Emily, director of HOME HEALTH CARE, who FINALLY connected me to Mary, manager of HOME HEALTH, who said she wasn't the RN on duty but could fill in for her. who knows where's the on-duty RN?? the whole rigmarole took 45 minutes. unacceptable! i asked Emily why all this happened because she ought to know i was going to say bad things about her company unless they can explain this meltdown. she said she'd follow up with me after she investigates and i'll post an update if she actually does. this company might be ok for hospital rehab services, but from my experience, they do NOT provide 24-7 HOME HEALTH CARE support. have a back up plan if you use them for home rehab... UPDATE #1: i've not heard from the director yet (Emily) but here's what happened: Mary, the manager of HOME HEALTH asked me a lot of questions and said she'd call my doctor, then call my visiting nurse and then call me back. exactly one hour later, she called back and started asking a lot of the same questions. i asked her exactly what i was waiting on and she said "nothing"!? i reminded her that she said she'd call my nurse and doctor. she said she called both but the nurse can't come unless she gets permission for her to come today, Wednesday, instead of their next appointment day, which is Thursday. I see all my docs on Friday and am aghast that it's such a big deal for the visiting nurse to come 24 hours early to see if my issue is really a major concern. as a side note, Mary was just going blah, blah, blah. so i hung up and called the doctor's office myself. if that's what has to be done, i wanted to make sure it got done. i asked the doctor's office if they would give permission for the visiting nurse to come a day early because the HOME HEALTH nurse had not done so!! this begs the question: what the heck did Mary talk about when she called my doctor? apparently she didn't ask for the OK to come today instead of tomorrow. i'm not dealing with "Mary" anymore. that's a dereliction of duty for her not to ask. my doctor's admin said, "oh, sorry, the doctor is in a meeting. she texted me and i'm waiting for her to get out of her meeting to ask that." that was almost an hour ago. so i called the department in Faulkner Hospital where the doctor practices and asked them if any of the doctor's peers could give the ok? Answer: "NO, only your doctor can do that." my response, "ok, well, if my doctor is too busy to send a text giving permission for the visiting nurse, then i'm FIRING MY DOCTOR." (that of course has nothing to do with HOME HEALTH CARE at NORTHEAST REHAB but i just threw it in anyway.) amazing: just to get the nurse here 24 hours early, i'm considering firing my doctor who seems to be ignoring my pleas for help because she's in a "meeting". my doc's office is 50 miles away (in Mass) and i'm not supposed to drive (doctor's orders). of course, they asked if i could drive down. the answer, "not today." UPDATE #2: the doc just called me and is sending the visiting nurse over today to check things out. it is pretty unbelievable that i had to go through 3.5 hours of bull sh*t just to get a visiting nurse to come over and look at my wound 24 hours earlier than planned... UPDATE #3: well, apparently the manager of HOME HEALTH, Mary, has decided that no one there feels "safe" to come over to see my wounds. No one would tell me what was happening until my doctor called to tell me. Wow, i'm 64 year old woman, living alone, who just had surgery and they don't feel "safe" coming to see me because i vocalized my unhappiness about spending HOURS trying to get ahold of them.

This center is VERY new. Went there for the 1st time, although there are signs I found it…read moresomewhat confusing. The building itself is immense with an emergency side to it similar to a regular hospital. Entering you first see a cafe that was open, but didn't appear to be completed for business. There are elevators to the appointment floor to the right. When I reached the 3rd floor to check in again it was somewhat confusing... It would have helped if they had a greeter in order to know which line to wait in. Anyway, I just stood and waited. When it became my turn the admin person was thorough and explained everything to me. I was given a sheet of paper and asked to sit in a huge waiting area. There were a lot of people waiting.... I thought Yikes, it's going to be a long wait. But it wasn't too bad. When my name was called I followed the nursing assistant through sets of doors and a long hallway to an exam room. I must state that the view from the window was spectacular. Before long my Dr came in. For privacy reasons I won't add her name to my review. But I will add that she couldn't be kinder, explaining everything, and answering all my questions. I never felt rushed... My entire visit was over within just short of an hour. Time to checkout.... Again, back to the huge room without anyone to assist. Not knowing I ended up waiting in the same line where this all began. When it became my turn I was told rudely that - no, the checkout area is on the other side.... That I DIDN'T appreciate. I moved on & took care of scheduling other appointments. Perhaps because this place is so new they need to work some things out ..I don't know. But I'm hoping my next visit is somewhat easier.

I have been a patient for almost 4 years and my parents have been patients for almost for the same…read moreamount of time . Sadly we lost my Mom to cancer this past fall. Drs and staff are typically wonderful! Maureen Lewis, a staff at DF Methuen site, is the rudest person we have encountered. Approx a month ago she verbally assaulted my father , as I demanded she speak differently she only got worse. I intervened ( against my better judgement ) as my father showed signs of fear ( he is wheelchair bound) . She called for her office manager who only saw my reaction and not the events that led up to the issue. They are now not allowing me to accompany my Dad to his treatment there. Basing their opinion on my reaction and not the facts at hand . The office manager , Kristen, needs to learn how to support the patients when they fear for their own safety when being verbally attacked by a nurse . Ironically when Ms Lewis was screaming at us about Covid protocol she neglected to say she had traveled to Mexico in late fall of 2020 and didn't follow guidelines when traveling or returning. I've had physical therapy in the past and this place by far is the best place. Vinnie and Mike blew me away with how much they knew about the neck and back and knew exactly what I'm going through with my pinch nerve. They made me feel at ease even if I had a stupid question to ask LOL. They couldn't of been nicer and friendlier courteous they gave me a ton of exercises I can do at home. I find myself getting better every week now thanks to them. I would highly recommend them Especially Vin and Mike and KC. They gave me the motivation and care to get better. Thank you .

Maryanne is just there because she has a license, if you tell them it has been too many visits without being seen by a licensed Pt, they will give you an excuse. Vacations, too many patients, my first visit I ended up in the ER. There were no changes made to the program. They use the guise they are following the baptist program. This is not a program for everyone, think out of the box. There is a lot to be said for time of injury to therapy, type of injury...read and comprehend the MRI, do what you agree to, funny how your vendor became my biggest hero and worked to help me get through the day at work in less pain. You kept blaming him for your ineptitude. To this day, they are stil supporting and helping me. The sick part you tred to convince him not to send me my equipment it took you 4 weeks to order, stating he dropped the ball and I no longer wanted it. Do your patients a favor stop taking workmans comp. and screwing those of us who were hurt and need to get better. You were just another part of this awful nightmare!!!

Eight weeks later the full leg cast was removed and my leg came out like a noodle. I was nervous if I'd ever walk normally again. I was matched with Matt O'Rourke at St Jos rehab (Nashua NH) and he was the PERFECT fit for my severe injury!! He teaches PT at Simmons College in Boston and REALLY knows his stuff!! He is a great listener, observer and detail oriented with action plans. He gave me targeted exercise-homework after each visit which accelerated my progress. I entered PT in a wheelchair and four months later, I was able to fly to Europe (lots of walking) and a month after that, get on a boat to a remote Maine island for lots of hiking -- oh, and I was able to walk/hike 10K-16K steps a day on the trips. Those fears were quickly replaced when I met the smiling receptionists who welcomed me to their facility followed quickly by meeting Chris Forbes who was to be my therapist for the next five weeks. Chris was great! I went to my first session using a walker followed in a week by a cane and then in three weeks using nothing for external support. Chris was the consummate professional. challenging me to do more but never more than I could do. he was supportive and understanding . My fears of what rehab could be were quickly displaced and the results spoke for themselves.
