"Just a sandwich shop," but so good. Fresh bread, freshly sliced, high quality meats and cheeses,…read moreand a range of menu options including simple staples and some slightly dressed up options (I got one dressed with Tuscan honey and truffle oil). The sandwiches are a pretty generous size and are more than enough for a full sized man who's worked up an appetite walking all over Florence all morning.
The service was also fantastic. They were very friendly. They entertained my terrible efforts to speak Italian and gently followed up in English without being condescending about it. I was there with my obviously pregnant wife and they made all sorts of generous offers to make sure she was comfortable. They brought some genuine warmth to the sandwich ordering experience.
The shop is small and the space is tight, but the vibe is also pretty great. It has warm woods in its interior... it doesn't feel industrial... and there are subtle, natural distinctly Florentine elements, but it's also legible as a version of the friendly "mom and pop" sandwich shop as you'd find in many cities in many countries and in my and many others' home towns.
An all around great sandwich shop.
