Solid Italian restaurant in a touristy part of town. We were hungry and saw Da Vinci. Before we walked in I had to check Yelp and the reviews were solid so we decided to give it a try. Plus, my 6-year old just got off our tour bus and needed a bathroom break All of our orders came out in good time and our server was very helpful and friendly. We chatted a bit about his family in California. We ordered two steaks with wine reduction sauce. Very good. One steak was over cooked but it was fine. Clams as appetizer was awesome with the house bread. One order of lasagna and I would give it a 8/10 compared to other restaurants at home. One order of pasta carbonara. It was good but not outstanding. One order of spaghetti bolognese. That one was average. We just arrived from Barcelona a few days before Lisbon and we were missing sangria so we ordered one pitcher. It's not as good as the ones in Barcelona but then again this is not Barcelona. For dessert we ordered 3 ice cream and a tiramisu. The ice cream was over-priced at 8 Euro each. Well I was very excited to try this after seeing the photographs and reviews. I would give it between 3 & 4 stars. Our meals were ok. I had the lasagna and it looked fantastic, it didn't taste quite as good. It kind of acidic, slightly but lacked a lot of flavour sadly. I put lots of cheese on it but is only partially fixed it. We also had a salami pizza and spaghetti boulegnese. Both were ok. Spaghetti was tasty but maybe a little fatty tasting and the pizza was thin crust but not crispy or firm at all. Just alright. We also had the fruit crepes for dessert, they were just ok, not worth having. The ones I had at Josephine up town were miles better. These were the doughy kind of texture which I don't like. Sorry it didn't blow me away as I was hoping so. But I also didn't realise it is smack in the middle of the tourist area, we had spent most of our trip uptown near Alfama and it is way more authentic and real... And way cheaper. Most touristy place to eat? Do we still go? Yes!!! After a long day of exploring beautiful Lisbon we searched up an Italian restaurant near us, and Da Vinchi came up! We had the ravioli, so fresh!!!! I am usually hesitant to eat at restaurants in the most touristy areas of cities. After all, they know they will probably never see you again so how good will the food and service be? But after eating at DaVinci, I may have to change my entire theory on this. We were invited to dine by one of those guys out in the street soliciting people to eat at his restaurant, another sign of a restaurant to avoid, but I was hungry, and this was close by and they could seat us immediately. Hunger won us over. We were shown to a table in the back and just when I thought they had forgotten about us, a wonderful server named Marisa showed up and made our night. She was personable and spot on in so many ways, I wanted her to pull up a chair and sit down to join us (but she had plenty of tables keeping her busy). We started with the antipasto plate and the caprese salad. Both were amazingly good! For our entrees, I had the spaghetti bolognese and my friend had the tortellini both of which were also really good. But it was dessert that really put me over the edge! I asked for a couple of scoops of ice cream and what came was something that can only be called a caramel sundae but even better (check out the pic) Great service, great food, wonderful wine and a bill that was reasonable for two- this place surprised me in a good way. Found this restaurant in Yelp. With so many places to choose from, it was nice to have a recommendation. I was very happy with the food and the extreme level of service. We wanted pizza and had a tomato salad. Both were fabulous. Looking at the food At other patron's plates, it was easy to see why this restaurant is highly recommended. One dish was made by first scraping cheese off the inside of a huge Parmesan wheel of cheese-(I think that it what it was) then tossing the cheese and pasta. We decided to try DaVinci after seeing reviews as its a short walk from our hotel. Staff was attentive. We were in the mood for pizzas & we were not disappointed. We ordered a basket of bread and an olive plate as well. The bread and olives was less than 2 euros and delicious. They bring olive oil etc to the table with the bread. Since it was raining we chose to sit inside, but all their outdoor tables are well covered. We enjoyed our meal. read more

This is one of those restaurants with a hawker outside, so I'd consider it a bit of a tourist trap. ALTHOUGH prices weren't crazy, food was decent (albeit not wholly authentic), & waitstaff were fairly friendly and attentive. We ordered Pizza Venezia and Gnocchi Alla Nonna. I found Gnocchia too salty, sauce didn't have a tangy tomato taste. Both were fine though, tasty. Decent place if you're sick of bacalhau, but I don't think it's a place that anyone would go to more than once/trip! ;) read more

One of the best Italian food I have ever eaten outside Italy , here in the streets of Lisbon . The ambiance is amazing we ordered a steak with Stacy and gnocchi with pesto sauce along with local Sanger's beer . The steak comes with steamed asparagus and potatoes. Came here late on a Saturday evening, like close to midnight. One of the few places that would still seat us AND take credit card. We were really grateful considering we had no cash left. We came here based on reviews. Both of us thought the atmosphere and wine (the glasses are massive) was very good. When it came to the food, a bit lackluster. The pizza was rather bland and for a Margherita should have basil on it. I got about one piece. Overall it wasn't a lot of food either. We actually went to McDonalds afterward because we were still hungry and not that al impressed. What really lowered this score down for me though was that we could overhear the waiters talking about us while we're having our meal, and our waiter was rather abrupt and short with us. Amazing pasta! Amazing pizza and super great service! We happened to be in Lisbon for Christmas and were afraid we wouldn't find a place that would be open for Christmas dinner - Da Vinci was! We actually discovered this place near our Airbnb a couple of days before Christmas and had to come back before heading back home! It's nice and cozy and they have a variety of pizzas and pastas on the menu as well as wines, beer, and desserts!! Definitely recommend !!! read more

Da Vinci was an enjoyable enough experience. I ate here on my last night in Lisboa and got the four cheese pizza. A little heavy on the hard parmesan cheese on top (yeah I know, does too much cheese 'really' exist? my vote is yes in this case) but it was overall delicious and a very good price for the portion size (if I remember correctly, 6 euros). Also, good prices on Sagres Bohemia (probably my favorite domestic beer I tried in Portugal). Nice ambiance as well. I had quite a few bad meals in Lisbon and even though this is an Italian in Portugal it was fabulous. The pasta and pizza were great, the salad was fresh and tasty, the melon could have been fresher and riper. The wine is excellent also and the service not bad, however one waiter forcefully tried to get us to try a wine of his selection even though I knew exactly what I wanted. He insisted we try it and said it didnt matter if we didnt like it he would open my choice of bottle after. We we didnt like it and he was like a child who had his favourite toy taken away. He sulked and the service went downhill from there. Thakfully he had to leave in the middle of our meal and a great waiter took over. Its a safe bet if looking for a guaranteed good tasty average meal. Expensive by local standards, even the local wine is 50% more expensive than the local average. read more

After a day trip out and about in Sintra and the power nap of all power naps hubby and I were starving and in dire need for some good food. Unfortunately all of the places that we bookmarked were closing for the night because we were looking to dine after 11pm but wanted to go somewhere close to our hotel that was not super touristy. After attempting to go to 2 other restaurants we started to make our way back to the hotel and stumbled upon Da Vinci. The hostess seated us quickly. For starters we ordered the garlic shrimp and then mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. SPECTACULAR! The seafood here was so good! My husband ordered a pizza but I had to be the difficult one and wanted the lamb chops dish. I could not make up my mind between 2 different lamb options so the hostess advised that the one in the red wine sauce (Carré D`Agnello al Vino Rosso) was the best. I obliged and she put our orders in. A few minutes later she came by and said that the grill was off so the chef could not grill my chops but would pan sear them and he ensured that it will still be tasty. Well beggars cannot be chooser so I agreed for him/her to do this. I am so happy that I listened to her and the chef because the lamb was so good I almost swallowed the bone! Delicious! read more

Service is friendly and fast and the outdoor seating is quite nice if the weather is good. Everybody here said they had good experiences but we were struggling to figure out if we offended them because we were very much ignored. Friendly service and great food. We are visiting from the US and this place was so good that we came here two days in a row! Service is a bit slow, and that would be the only complaint (however, that is a typical thing here in Europe compared to speedy service back in the US). The first one we ate some pasta and saltimbocca, the second time we ordered pizza for take away... both times it tasted great and service was same! A very nice dinner. Everything looked so good I struggled to make up my mind. I finally settled for the Lasagna and it proved to be extremely tasty in a rich sauce that seemed to get better with every bite. I ordered the sangria tinta to go along with it and thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was a busy evening for them and they managed to perform quite well on the service. Terrible and cheap food. Poor service (waiter doesnt bring new knife and fork after removing them). Pizza is stale, cheese tastes like nothing and is heavy to chew on. Canneloni meat is most likely cheap mince mixture with no flavour. Soup has no taste and the plate is filled to the rim. Pizza baker uses his phone while making pizza, doesn't wash his hands after doing so. Stay away from this place. read more

Wonderful service- the owner came by our table to ask how everything was and the waiter was very efficient and attentive! There were blankets at each table in case anyone was cold for outdoor seating. There was also indoor seating available. Our waiter spoke some English which was great. The restaurant on the outside may not look too appealing however the food was great even though it's an Italian restaurant in Portugal! Best meal I had in Lisbon. We started out with Casa de Santar red wine and it was very smooth. We shared the four cheese pizza, which was creamy, with a thin crispy crust and wine flavored red sauce. I had the lasagna for my entree which was cheesy, fresh, yummy and so delicious!!! My friend had pasta pesto with clams and he loved it.
