    Antipasto
    Carol K.

I am usually hesitant to eat at restaurants in the most touristy areas of cities. After all, they know they will probably never see you again so how good will the food and service be? But after eating at DaVinci, I may have to change my entire theory on this. We were invited to dine by one of those guys out in the street soliciting people to eat at his restaurant, another sign of a restaurant to avoid, but I was hungry, and this was close by and they could seat us immediately. Hunger won us over. We were shown to a table in the back and just when I thought they had forgotten about us, a wonderful server named Marisa showed up and made our night. She was personable and spot on in so many ways, I wanted her to pull up a chair and sit down to join us (but she had plenty of tables keeping her busy). We started with the antipasto plate and the caprese salad. Both were amazingly good! For our entrees, I had the spaghetti bolognese and my friend had the tortellini both of which were also really good. But it was dessert that really put me over the edge! I asked for a couple of scoops of ice cream and what came was something that can only be called a caramel sundae but even better (check out the pic) Great service, great food, wonderful wine and a bill that was reasonable for two- this place surprised me in a good way. And that doesn't happen very often!

    2 delicious pizzas at DaVinci.

We decided to try DaVinci after seeing reviews as its a short walk from our hotel. Staff was attentive. We were in the mood for pizzas & we were not disappointed. We ordered a basket of bread and an olive plate as well. The bread and olives was less than 2 euros and delicious. They bring olive oil etc to the table with the bread. Since it was raining we chose to sit inside, but all their outdoor tables are well covered. We enjoyed our meal.

The food was delicious! Great location and great staff! Highly recommend the Caprese salad and the tortellini with prosciutto, absolutely amazing! The pizzas are also very delicious. Thin crust and are easily finished with one person. Went here two nights during our stay in Lisbon!

Interior. Yes, it's on a tourist street.

This is one of those restaurants with a hawker outside, so I'd consider it a bit of a tourist trap. ALTHOUGH prices weren't crazy, food was decent (albeit not wholly authentic), & waitstaff were fairly friendly and attentive. We ordered Pizza Venezia and Gnocchi Alla Nonna. I found Gnocchia too salty, sauce didn't have a tangy tomato taste. Both were fine though, tasty. Decent place if you're sick of bacalhau, but I don't think it's a place that anyone would go to more than once/trip! ;)

One of the best Italian food I have ever eaten outside Italy , here in the streets of Lisbon . The ambiance is amazing we ordered a steak with Stacy and gnocchi with pesto sauce along with local Sanger's beer . The steak comes with steamed asparagus and potatoes. Some pics of the owner with celebrities especially local boy soccer super star Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't too surprising after I tasted the food

Came here late on a Saturday evening, like close to midnight. One of the few places that would still seat us AND take credit card. We were really grateful considering we had no cash left. We both had a wood oven pizza and enjoyed it. Thin crust with fresh ingredients. We prefer the one with gorgonzola and ham.

Spaghetti Carbonara lite bacon add chicken.. delightful

Searched Yelp for dinner places as we are in town for a few nights and came across this gem.. We ended up coming for a late lunch after some sightseeing and was not disappointed! We ordered the white wine sangria that was made at the table YAAY, my friend had a calzone with ham salami & mushrooms, and I had the spaghetti carbonara (decided to go lite on the bacon and added chicken). We ended with coffee and Tiramisu.. everything was soo good including the service! And we beat the evening crowd

Amazing pasta! Definitely opt for the seafood linguini! My mother tried the tagliatelle linguini with chicken--also amazing! We paired the dinner with a green wine and ended the night with tiramisu, both are a must have.

Super food here at Da Vinci. Good service.

Nice restaurant, good food and service i got some seafood pasta very good taste. And some very nice bruchetas .

Amazing pasta! Amazing pizza and super great service! We happened to be in Lisbon for Christmas and were afraid we wouldn't find a place that would be open for Christmas dinner - Da Vinci was! We actually discovered this place near our Airbnb a couple of days before Christmas and had to come back before heading back home! It's nice and cozy and they have a variety of pizzas and pastas on the menu as well as wines, beer, and desserts!! Definitely recommend !!!

Four cheese pizza...heavy on the Parmesan but quite good
    Riley B.

Da Vinci was an enjoyable enough experience. I ate here on my last night in Lisboa and got the four cheese pizza. A little heavy on the hard parmesan cheese on top (yeah I know, does too much cheese 'really' exist? my vote is yes in this case) but it was overall delicious and a very good price for the portion size (if I remember correctly, 6 euros). Also, good prices on Sagres Bohemia (probably my favorite domestic beer I tried in Portugal). Nice ambiance as well. I felt like a dumbass eating Italian in Portugal, but it was quite good.

Very good pizza and sangria! Waiters are very attentive. They have a huge menu and everything looks great! Prices are reasonable too.

Garlic shrimp & white wine and garlic mussels. Both great starters!

After a day trip out and about in Sintra and the power nap of all power naps hubby and I were starving and in dire need for some good food. Unfortunately all of the places that we bookmarked were closing for the night because we were looking to dine after 11pm but wanted to go somewhere close to our hotel that was not super touristy. After attempting to go to 2 other restaurants we started to make our way back to the hotel and stumbled upon Da Vinci. The hostess seated us quickly. For starters we ordered the garlic shrimp and then mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. SPECTACULAR! The seafood here was so good! My husband ordered a pizza but I had to be the difficult one and wanted the lamb chops dish. I could not make up my mind between 2 different lamb options so the hostess advised that the one in the red wine sauce (Carré D`Agnello al Vino Rosso) was the best. I obliged and she put our orders in. A few minutes later she came by and said that the grill was off so the chef could not grill my chops but would pan sear them and he ensured that it will still be tasty. Well beggars cannot be chooser so I agreed for him/her to do this. I am so happy that I listened to her and the chef because the lamb was so good I almost swallowed the bone! Delicious!

And thus, in no particular order, while trying to work my way through the large number of places I…read morewent, and wrote review drafts for, on our trip to Portugal a couple months ago... I get to by far the worst restaurant I've been to in a while, at least in a case where I was certainly expecting the opposite, and one of the worst reviews I've written in a long time. I have no idea what entirely different-sounding restaurant most of these people went to... it started out badly, when we got there, the first ones after they opened, for our reservation, the music was quite loud, so after being seated, we asked our server if she could turn it down, and she gave her an irritated look and stomped off. We think she turned it down a tiny bit for a couple minutes, then turned it back up even louder. My wife literally said (I was facing the other direction) that she saw that waitress trying to talk to another waiter and having a hard time due to the music volume. Wasn't quite the right vibe for 12:30 for lunch, was a bit more of a late evening bar vibe, music-wise? But also yeah, our waitress had a bit of an attitude. We talked about just walking out and going somewhere else, which I wish I had, but I'd seen so many great reviews, and we had a reservation, so we ordered a couple things, which did arrive pretty quickly there after. We tried, at the time (though I get the impression the menu probably also rotates pretty often) Potato cabbage chorizo balls - super bland, they just tasted like shaped balls of mashed potato. Didn't taste any chorizo or even cabbage, really. Boring. Squid - the worst squid I'd had in a while. The sauce was tasty enough but nothing amazing; the squid itself was way over-cooked, also, over-*grilled* specifically, it tasted charred. I still ate it, but it definitely wasn't worth 16 euros. A "pickled rabbit/quince/chorizo", because I was just so curious what it was. This one was actually super fun, unique and interesting, saving the restaurant as a whole from only getting one star. I was surprised after the other two. I've definitely never had anything like it before, and likely never will. There were a whole bunch of flavors, all great. But their menu is a chalk-board, so I have no idea if it's still being served, or if it disappeared from the menu a week after I was there in January. Their wine is also very much... American priced. If it were in Long Beach, 9 euro (or its American equivalent) for a glass of the house wine would seem very reasonable, and if it were in Los Angeles, it'd be downright cheap - in Portugal, though, I'd gotten used to much cheaper glasses of wine, so that was a bit surprising. I did like that they had a by-the-glass orange wine, though, so obviously I had a glass of the house orange wine. It was pretty decent. I'd have been happy for a red or white wine for half the price, though, as seemed common for similar restaurants nearby. That wouldn't have mattered so much if the food had been, overall, better, though, and the service hadn't been... a little snotty.

One of the most memorable dining experiences of all time. We spent 4 nights in Lisbon and came…read morehere twice, that's how great it was. I typically would avoid going to the same restaurant twice during a short stay in a city with so many good eats, if I can help it. In fact, I had already planned out all of my meals and made the proper reservations. But after having dinner the first night here, I had to cancel the reservation for our last night in Lisbon and snatch a reservation at Baldracca again. Between the two nights, we sampled almost all the items we wanted to try on the blackboard. That's part of the reason for the 2nd reservation. There were so many creative and delicious dishes that we just couldn't try with one meal between two people, so we had to come back the 2nd time. But the food is only one part (an important part) of the whole experience. We love the energy, the vibe, and the people in this little restaurant. Our first night there, we had the earliest reservation (i.e. when the restaurant open for the night). The servers got all of us in and seated, then literally had the "Listen up, this is how it goes..." to let everyone know what the restaurant is about, how many dishes to order based on how many in the party etc etc... They are very causal and basically said to enjoy and flag any of them down when ready to order or need of anything. Then they turn up the music and I felt like I am in a family or friend party event. Music blasting, dishes served, people chit chatting, laughing, just having a great time. We went back the 2nd time, the owner actually recognized us and welcomed us warmly. Because we snatched a later reservation that 2nd night, he even sat down at the end of the meal to talk to us a bit. Upon learning that we are visiting Porto next, he took some time to write down restaurant recommendations on a piece of paper and handed to us and offered us to try some of the sweet wine they made (which was absolutely delicious). We took a picture with him and honestly can't thank him enough. Truly a very special place because of the food, the atmosphere, and the people!
