Terrific restaurant open early (9am) everyday for breakfast and lunch with many vegan options. I stopped by on a Sunday morning for some breakfast. I got a double espresso (€4.10) -- which was top-notch -- and the Veganes Früstücke, a breakfast plate with an impeccably well-flavoured tofu scramble, a tomato & kidney bean dish, a monstrous salad, and side of whole wheat bread. The food came out within 15 minutes and was fantastic and plentiful. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Superb service, very homey and relaxing interior, free wifi, and all-round just a fantastic spot. Highly recommended. read more

Met here for coffee and hot chocolate with an acquaintance. The tables were in the sun and shadows, so we had a choice, tho the chairs were really uncomfortable, as they were of wicker and sunk down a bit, so that bothered my back. The server was pleasant and efficient. I ordered the hot chocolate, which arrived in a small cup and was mostly hot water, powder and then a little milk. It was not a great drink, esp in comparison to other cafes, tho I thot the locale was quiet and away from the traffic. From this one experience, I wouldn't really recommend it, tho I might try again to see if their baked goods are good. read more

Ich bin ein paar Wochen lang häufig Abends im DaCaBo gewesen, da ich im Hotel um die Ecke wohnte und kann den Ort sehr empfehlen. Die hier häufig gescholtenen Mitarbeiter muss ich dabei ausdrücklich in Schutz nehmen! Zu mir waren alle immer ausgesprochen nett und zuvorkommend. Ich habe mich jedesmal sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Bierauswahl und der Kuchen exzellent. Kaffee und Tee sind überdurchschnittlich gut. Das Essen ist gut und lecker. Die Tagesgerichte könnten öfter wechseln, aber das ist verschmerzbar. read more

Das Dacabo ist ein gemütliches modernes Café am Heumarkt in Bamberg, zwischen Universität und Max-Platz. Es bietet diverse Kaffee- und andere Getränkespezialitäten. Es gibt abwechslungsreiche, leckere Kuchensorten, die nach Angaben der Bedienung selbst gebacken sind. Auf der Karte befinden sich außerdem allerlei leckere Gerichte, von denen ein Teil wöchentlich wechselt. Ich habe dort schon diverse Male gefrühstückt (sehr zu empfehlen). Die warmen Gerichte sind eher für den kleinen Appetit, dafür sehr ausgefallen, frisch und lecker. Auf die Qualität der Nahrungsmittel wird hier wirklich wert gelegt. Warum nicht 5 Sterne? Weil die Preise für die Region Franken schon überdurchschnittlich (was man von der Qualität aber auch sagen kann) und die Portionen eher klein sind. Außerdem hat es einen großen Einfluss auf das Ambiente, wer gerade dort arbeitet. Wenn die Chefin im Haus ist, können die Angestellten den Stress und den Druck nicht mehr weglächeln, die ganze Atmosphäre entwickelt sich zu einem Spannungsfeld. Die Chefin nimmt auch kein Blatt vor den Mund und erteilt den Mitarbeitern regelmäßig eine Abfuhr, gerne auch vor den Gästen. Die kann auch den Gast treffen, wenn er sich im falschen Moment zu Wort meldet. Als regelmäßiger Gast konnte ich das schon mehrmals beobachten. Fazit: Leckere Getränke, leckere Snacks, tolle Sitzplätze - drinnen wie draußen, trotz mangelhafter Mitarbeiterführung. Mein Tipp: Abends ab 18 Uhr hingehen, da ist die Atmosphäre sehr entspannt und die Cheffin meist nicht mehr im Haus. Dann eine leckere Kleinigkeit von der Karte bestellen, dazu ein kühles Weizen oder einen guten Wein. So kann man seinen Feierabend genießen. read more
