Bought a car from Dace, after 4000 miles it started missfiring badly. Found the fault was that their incompetent fitters had fitted the wrong spark plugs to the engine and this has caused the ceramic around the electrode to disintegrate and go into the combustion chambers. When viewing the car, the pre sale service was questioned because to me the oil was not fresh it was black and smelled of petrol. So the salesman came back with an invoice of parts fitted to the car and on that invoice it states they fitted whatever cheap plugs they could find because obviously the correct plugs were too expensive. So they fitted plugs that were 10mm too short, the wrong electrode material and the wrong heat range. Maybe they are trying to cut corners to pay for their loan on the fancy new showroom but either way, you don't want to buy a car that they've touched and they will also ignore you when they have touched it, and it no longer works because of what they did! read more

I was on the look out for a new car, and had the misfortune to visit these jokers,I saw a car I was interested in,the salesman came over, he had to check his phone because he didn't have a clue about the car,on closer inspection the car was a disgrace, big scratch down the back panel, all the brake pads, worn down to the metal, and all the discs were scored, and this car was up for nearly 10k, Needless to say I did sharp exit with the salesman saying I was being picky and I wasn't interested in the car anyway. If this is their typical attitude and marque of car I'd steer well clear of them read more

AVOID !!! Dace Motor Company are a Bunch of Greedy amateurs, any company that won't accept payment by debit card thus; disallowing the customer to have the option of using Visa charge back for refunds and/or partial refunds has got something to hide! they use the Bill/transfer method or a finance scheme system were you have no charge back facility! Bought a Ford Mondeo Titanium from these jokers with multiple issues Engine over-filled with oil, cooling system faults (Coolant missing/leaking), mixed spec winter and normal tyres, excessive vibrating unbalanced wheels, a fake Chinese Xtrons audio/media system which they tried to pass off on me! an internally Damaged driver's seat, no audio system manual, centre console cover jammed shut, torn leather steering wheel. They charged the upper most price for a car that had no service history compared to other dealers that had cars of the same or similar type with lower mileage and full service history! I Had to pay for the wheels to be balanced and a wheel nut that vibrated off while still under warranty, which The General Manager one of the most arrogant, ignorant, jumped up, egotistical bullies I've ever meet with a superiority complex! I asked if he would reimburse me for the costs I amounted due to Dace's incompetence, when I took the car back to be repaired, he refused to say if he would or would not, again trying to play mind games with a paying customer that had been sold a faulty, defective car by Dace Motor Company. I pointed out that Dace were in BREACH OF THEIR OWN CUSTOMER SERVICE CARE AND ETHICS! clearly mentioned on their own web site! The car had not been checked and tested before being released for sale, again profit before customer. The car broke down twice (because of the cooling system faults) it had to be relayed twice using up two of my Brake down service call outs. I gave them every opportunity to fix the car but they did not! they had it in their workshop for two weeks and still wanted me to accept it back unfixed with a dodgy counterfeit stereo, which they confirmed and admitted to but still expected me to accept. The General Manager had repeatedly made false claims about Dace's prices and the availability of the model of the car I bought! I had no option but to reject the car and ask for a full refund which was my legal right. Birch full of bluster said " speak to my Solicitor I'll see you in Court" I was then left stranded in Stockport. I live over 40 miles away! I was also told that the car was not covered by their insurance on their site, whilst it was being rejected back to them! an obvious despicable scare tactic! I had to make my own way back home at my own cost and at a great deal of inconvenience! as I have a chronic debilitating illness that I had made them aware of, Again I asked to be reimbursed but surprise, surprise I was refused! I was deliberately kept waiting, I had to prepare to go to Court I contacted Citizens advice and trading standards and was told that The General Manager and Dace Motors did not have a leg to stand on. I had to go without transport for over a week, eventually a damage limitation person from Dace called me and offered me a refund which they could of done a lot sooner! If I had gone to court I would had a chance to air my grievance and embarrass Dace and give them the bad publicity they and The General Manager deserve and claim my costs and expenses, but The General Manager conveniently timed it to cause me most disruption and stop me from claiming back the costs, again another a sign of a puerile narcissist with a God complex who can never admit he's wrong! a typical I know everything (he thinks he does) but I learn nothing person! Lesson number 1 Mr General Manager your Customer's are not your sub-ordinates if anything it's the other way round, Customers pay yours and everyone else's wages at Dace Motor Company! I eventually bought a Ford Mondeo Zetec from another dealer, a year newer with 32,000 miles less on the clock, with full service history and breakdown cover for the same money as Dace's faulty, defective Ford Mondeo. read more

Purchasing from Dace Supermarket was stress-free and simple. Good selection of vehicles on offer and all looked clean and in good condition. Sales people are friendly and not pushy. The overall experience was simple and quick and there was a good after sales service provided. Only thing that would've made it better would've been having a spare key provided by Dace instead of being expected to sort it myself - its these little things that make a 4-star experience into a 5-star one. Otherwise good, would recommend and purchase again through Dace myself. read more

Purchased a car in June 2015, 2 weeks after owning it i had to drive an 80 round trip back to dace to because they had fitted the wrong type of suspension springs, which I paid for the travel cost even with the car still under warranty. Had the car 4 months now and it has stopped working after throwing loads of black smoke out has lots of fault codes on it and the bonnet catch is bust so can't open it and all I get off dace are sorry its out of warranty. I expect a car to last a lot longer than this for the price I paid, I have had it in the garage on numerous occasions. DO NOT BUY OFF DACE MOTOR COMPANY, there mechanics are incompetent and they have no care for there customers once they have left the forecourt!!! read more

Drove to dace on Saturday from York to look at a BMW X5,priced £14,480,after the usual sales pitch we get down to p/x, to my shock was offered £1,600 which rose to £2,300, the least I have been offered was £3,000, just done a parkers guide and auto trader valuation, both say between £3,500 and £4,600,to prove I sent the auto trader quote to a dealer in Wakefield to check against his 59 x5 and he emailed back saying he would give £4,000 p/x,what a waste of time dace are.their x5 was full of scratches and dints, how can any dealer present a car like that, saying it was awaiting prep,do they not know people do home work on their car and the 1 they wish to purchase.,come on car dealers,we know you have over heads but why try rip people off,I was there to buy a car with money in my pocket and my wife will be replacing her car in 6 months, you just reinforce the image we have of car dealers. read more

The experience at Dace Supermarket was good because John looked after me really well and was professional and very accommodating. The service levels from the service/mechanics team is absolutely excellent and Glynn and Jenny make sure I am 100% looked after and happy, alongside really helpful mechanics in their team too. The customer service and after care from Dace continues to be second to none, hence I came back.......and VERY glad I did! Thank you all very much indeed! read more

Good Car - but so far the warranty is proving to be difficult / not worth the dealer price. References being made to terms and conditions which I don't have and are not part of the sales contract. I have to take the car 80 miles to get the glow plugs swapped, despite them obviously being faulty when the car was purchased. Will update when I know how it progresses, but currently the signs are not good at all. read more

I also purchased a car when they said it had full service history and send logbook etc... Weeks later they said it was lost in post. Had car less than 6 months and had new discs, brakes, tyres and complete exhaust..had to do a service when they said it had one..totalling £1000 when I paid £6500 for car! All I say is buy the car on visual inspection only and be weary of full service statements : as they can get more money for fsh cars... read more

Just bought my car from Dace after searching around (the UK) and looking for the particular type. I was delighted to have seen it cheaper than other companies/websites especially for the year and quality. I travelled from the North of Ireland and although there was a mix up with the site the car was at, we were sorted and I was delighted with the outcome. My car is going very well and I thoroughly enjoy driving it. If there was any criticism, it would be the fact that my car didn't include factory fitted mats which I had to then buy myself. Other than that- I would recommend them to family and friends and would also look to them for my next car. Also, after dropping my license without realising the men from the company rang to let me know and posted it back to me within a few days- which I greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! read more

Have just bought a car from this garage who confirmed a full workshop check prior to sale only to discover on return journey home severe wheel shake when braking - wheels require balancing I thought but my garage discovered badly worn front pads/discs. Reinbursement was refused outright and offered a paultry sum when I suggested I'd be returning the car for a full refund. read more

I bought a mitisubishi this year from the start I has had problems with my car this was going to be a happy time for me and my family, but this was not the case on driving the car home I had problems with The brake wear worn and very soft and took time to stop . But this was only the start!! On driving home that day I found it very hard to get in gear so yes you Guess a gear box problem and other problems like engine faults Body work marks. Which I call on my way home to report these faults so they got the car book in A week latter and did the brake but not any of the other ones And hire cars on the first 2 hire cars they gave us had no insurance Which we didn't find out till the third time we got a hire car because they Came out and told us to insure the car are selfs. Which I refused that and then they insured us for the first time. Now back to the car it's been back to them five time and all the problems are still happening: Gear box / body work / engine faults / have two vehicle inspections done now which I paid for and yes the gearbox and engine need repairing, The body work still has scratches Which DACE said that they would fix it but I am still here with the car not fixed, Needless to say they have not and now are saying there are no faults and have been making things up hoping I would go away, and the garage they took it to saying to me on the phone they would order the parts to do this then seeing the prices to fix it they have now said there is no faults and told me to put it in writing so I did and got to reports done saying all the faults, Dace told me on the phone that I am making this up( FOR WHAT REASON) ?? I don't no As I have said the reports don't lie it's been four months now I think they just wanted to get me out of the warranty which they did but I am not going any wear I want all my money back you had the chance to fix this car but just lie too me all the time and waste my time which I will be claiming for,,! Thanks dace for all the problems and lies This is not the happy time I wanted it be for me and my family which wear driving a car with out insurance so thanks for that hope this help any one buying a used car from dace motor company Kind regards read more

It's a shame I never read these reviews before I purchased my car from Dace. I recently bought a car from them, and to be fair they have some nice cars in stock at reasonable prices. The salesmen were friendly and the whole buying purchase was acceptable. The problems occurred when I had to return the car for some minor faults. I wanted to get the car repaired locally as I lived a few miles away, but it became apparent from the garage I tried, Dace were very reluctant to pay anything but the bare minimum for repairs, leading the garage refusing to do the work on a warranty basis, so eventually I decided to take the car back and let them sort the problem.the car was returned to them 17 days ago, in the meantime I have made numerous phone calls, as to the progress of the vehicle. Every time I just get fobbed off, I'll ring you back, I'll ring first thing in the morning etc, which never happens, I have to ring back over and over again to see if anything has happened or changed with the vehicle. I know electrical problems and sensor problems can be hard to diagnose, but the progress of this repair is frustrating to say the least. Yet again I am waiting for a call back, half an hour was stated yet again, two hours has passed with no call. Also I purchased the vehicle with 5 months tax, when I tried to put a private number plate on the car, DVLA informed me that the tax had already been surrendered and the vehicle was no longer taxed, so I have been driving on the roads for two months with no tax. dace seem very reluctant to do anything about this also.If anyone knows the number of the person that actually owns Dace Motors I would be very grateful if you could forward this to me, I would like to air my views with him on these matters.I will keep posting my progress, or lack of it on here so people can make their own judgements read more

I was looking for a car for about 2 months before I stumbled on upon Dace Motors. Their prices were very good and I thought may be too good to be true, but I thought I would take the chance nonetheless. I read some previous reviews and was little sceptical as those past reviews were telling me that if I had a problem I wouldn't get the service that I needed. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL WITH MY EXPERIENCE. I dealt with an attentive sales manager Matthew Davies, who dealt with my purchase and part exchange of my old car and I was very pleased with the service. After a couple of days of driving away I noticed a slight fault on my car. I contacted Dace with the preconception that I would not have an easy time of getting it fixed. BUT they did everything as best as I had hoped for. I contacted them and they told me to come in so they could diagnose the problem all under their warranty conditions, so nothing to pay on my part. They then told me what the problem was and arranged for me to book in the car a couple of days later and arranged for me to have a complementary courtesy car whilst they fixed the problem I could not have asked for more. The best news I had though was when I got a call from them to say that they had fixed the right hand side of the car, but had noticed that the left hand side had the same problem starting and would probably cause me grief in about 3 4 months. They took the initiative to get this fixed also even though they did not really have to. James Stockton dealt with all the warranty and service issues, and I appreciated his honesty and willingness to sort out the problem at all times. All in all a good experience and I would definately recommend them to friends and family. read more

I have a lovely car which I purchased off Dace this week. Sadly, within a few minutes of owning the car it became apparent that there was a fault. This was reported to Dace who assured me it would be resolved. That was where the fun began! I spent the best part of 2 hours sitting in one of their porta-cabins whilst my car was 'repaired' off-site. I was then told that the part they needed would not be in until late afternoon I was told they could 'run me home' and bring the car back to me later. This was totally unfeasible and, after some deliberation they reluctantly agreed to lend me a curtesy car. My car was delivered back to me later that day with the assurance that everything was fixed a short test drive confirmed that it was not. I got a second opinion from a local garage who confirmed my fears and reported this back to Jason the Sales Manager, who is quite honestly one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. He had the cheek to tell me told me he was 'out of pocket' having paid £70 for the repair! Fast forward 3 days and my car is now finally about to be repaired by a local garage which I know and trust. I have had numerous unreturned phone calls, heated conversations and been subjected to a torrent of abuse by the Sales Manager, the best being the quote I won't be spoken to like this by a customer! The unbelievable fact of the situation is that the repair bill is less than £40. I would not buy from them again - I am fortunate that my car seems OK (fingers crossed) but really for the amount of hassle it is not worth the risk. read more

Went to view a car on tues, staff smiley and helpful.saw a car, enquired about it. The man went to get the keys to drive the car forward.unfortunately the tailgate had been left open resulting in a flat battery, also flat rear tyre. It was getting late so got the guy to look at my car for part exchange and made an appointment to veiw the car on Wed @ 5pm after work. The man said it was all in place, he would not be there but someone would be to look after us. All happy.turned up on wed to be told sorry love the car has been sold.we make many appointments but people dont turn up.so tuff.first come first served?!!!! All the sales men closed rank and feeling intimidated we left. Rang later to enquire to be told we should of been told to leave a deposit and and first come first servedwas not told to leave deposit and thought an appointment meant business was in place. It wasnt my fault the man in charge of that row of cars had been on holiday so his cars had not been checkednor that the battery was dead and tyre flator it was getting late and I had my kids with mebut the real stinger when you are a hard working person is that you whole heartedly believe a business agreement is set in stone until the 5pm appointment not that your trusting a money grabbing venture. The car should have been held till 5pm any potential buyers during the day should have been asked to leave details as public often dont turn up read more

I'd recommend Dace Supermarket to a friend because they offer a genuine and personal service which is very rare to find. They left me to it and I had a browse and when I was ready to speak to someone, I approached a member of the team (Shaun) for more assistance. Shaun, in a word was FANTASTIC! He looks like a mixture of Macklemore and Gary Windass from Corrie, so that's a great start haha! But in all seriousness, he shown a genuine desire to help me meet my needs and went above and beyond the call of duty that you would expect from a car salesman. Having never bought a car from a dealership before, I had a very predetermined expectation and it was completely the opposite! I thought I was going to constantly get pestered, but they left me to it which I loved. Going through the paperwork was simple and stress-free which is what you want when you're purchasing something like a car. I didn't feel like Shaun was a salesman, he just treated me like one of the lads - he was very honest with me and he helped me agree on the most suitable car based on the criteria I gave him. Overall I would say Dace is a company which prides itself on giving the customer that personal touch which most car dealerships are missing and they do that and much more! They're a friendly, no-nonsense company who go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the customer is happy with the end result. read more

I turned 21 and decided i was going to go and get a newish car on finance as a treat I have been left lookong like and absolute mug! I picked my car up 2008 plate pegeout 207cc and with in the first week it was back there for electrical faults, picked it up and all fine(no courtsy car offered). Within a week the car totally broke down, wouldnt do a thing. It tool dace motors 1 and half months to repair the car and get it back to me (bearing i. Mind you only get 3 months warrenty) again no courtesy car was offered! I have taken the car back so many time with so many problems and you just get passed from one person to another untill your warrenty runs out and they want nothing more to do with you. 10 months down the line and i have been advised to get rid of the car as the problems will cost more then the car!! I am toed into a 5 year contract and am now left with no car! Dace motors pride themselves on selling quality second hand cars, what a joke! The manager cant tell a petrol from a diesel!! The whole lot of them are a waste of space! If you are thinking about buying a car then please go somewhere else!!! read more

I purchased a 2005 VW Golf from Dace Motor Company in October 2011. The overall service provided by Dace Motor Company was excellent. All of needs were catered for as soon as I walk through the gates. I was offered an extended warranty (standard 3 months) for an additional cost which I accepted. Looking through the extended warranty book is was clear that this warranty was much better than ones I had seen from previous dealers I had visited and included breakdown cover and a courtesy car. I also took the GAP insurance from Dace Motor company as this ensured that if I was involved in an accident where my car was written off, my finance would be dealt with. Overall the staff at Dace Motor Company were friendly, helpful and honest and again the service provided by DACE was excellent and I would certainly recommend them to friends and family and I would certainly be purchasing my next car from them. read more

I recently bought a car from Dace and have to say that I was very impressed with them. From start to finish they were friendly and helpful, and when you also consider that they offered me a very good price on my part-exchange and offered a great deal, it's no surprise I purchased from them. Their communication was good throughout; I was never in any doubt exactly where we were in terms of getting things done, and when I had to postpone collection due to work reasons they were flexible enough to allow me to bring in my car before they were due to open so that they could get me on the road in my new car. Although they never put me under any pressure, they were keen to do a deal and as a result offered me a great car at a very competitive and fair price. I would go back to them, and would recommend them to friends. read more

Was sold a car by Dace motor company in early 2011 with a major fault present (and a few minor ones), despite this being covered under warranty (let alone selling something not fit for purpose) they wriggled and lied to get out of resolving the major issue which took a good bit of stress and time to resolve. The car was also sold with 'full service history', this was not the case and I was spun the line 'the service book's at the dealers being stamped up, we'll post it you' at the time of handing over the cashof course after many phone calls the full service history never materialized. As far as aftersales goes it's a case of being told 'I'll ring you back in two minutes' and then I was hung up on, many times as was the reputable garage who undertook the repair work to get the car usable. read more

I have bought two cars from the Dace Motor Company over the last 10 years and have found the service very much to my satisfaction. The first was a Renault Laguna and the second a Ford Focus. Both motors have been reliable and served me well over the years, over which I've covered many miles. I would heartily recommend this company to anyone. The one time I had a small alternator issue on the Ford Focus, it was fixed efficiently and without fuss. So many garages are pushy and only care about getting the sale, but what impressed me about Dace is that they showed the same courtesy when I had a minor fault as when asking questions about test-driving a particular car. They are always helpful and pleasant and many of our friends have also bought cars from this company. read more

If you're looking for a quality second-hand car, I can highly recommend The Dace Motor Company. They have a great selection, at fixed, but realistic prices - so there's no need to haggle (what a relief!). A £100 deposit reserved the car, which avoided some of the anxiety of buying, particularly as we were travelling from Birmingham. Dave Geddes, who dealt with our sale, was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. Communication with him, either by phone or email before and after our visit was quick and straightforward. The company seems to have a policy of no-pressure sales, which is a real pleasure to deal with. The car was in immaculate condition. We are very happy and (despite the distance) The DMC may well be our first port of call next time. read more

" I would recommend Dace Supermarket to friends and family because the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Tony J who dealt with me from start to finish and did a fantastic job of making sure my car was properly prepared before pickup. Overall a very pleasant experience of buying a second hand car from a dealership you can trust to sell you a used car in its best possible mechanical and cosmetic condition. I took my car to my usual garage afterwards to have the mechanics there do a post-sale inspection today and their verdict was that my BMW X3 was the best example they had seen for that age of car. Congratulations and well done to everyone a Dace and please keep up your incredible standards. " read more

Having searched for the right vehicle for 4 months, I was lucky enough to find it with Dace Motors. After securing the vehicle with a small deposit I was able to view and pick up my new car all in the same weekend. On arrival I was greeted by Mike who was able to ensure smooth sale of the car and explained everything I would need to know about the car - I have also had a small issue with the car door which as I was covered in 3 months warranty I wanted to get this checked out and the office staff were very quick to help me with arranging a garage near to home (Leeds) to fix this without any questions nor payment. Very happy with the service provided and would defiantly recommend to a friend. read more

I had a great experience here back in March on the purchase of a pre-owned Vauxhall. Mathew was my dealer associate and was helpful throughout the whole process. I was a serious buyer who knew what he wanted, so I needed to inspect it, test drive it, and buy it. Case closed !!! There was no drama throughout the process, and Matt, along with the general manager (Colby) at the time, were willing to deal. Neither of them yapped on and on or tired to oversell the vehicle either. They knew what kind of buyer I was. I left incredibly happy with my purchase and still am. The sales people were very informative and I got a great deal on my car. I would Highly recommend them !!! read more

We brought a car from Dace back end of February and within a month the turbo went and had to have this replaced and then within the second month the electric hand break went again, so another issue with a car that they said had passed a full service. Now six months on and the car has more issues and Dace are washing their hands off the issues because they have sold a car that's not fit for purpose and selling dangerous cars that you will have an accident in or worst kill someone. What a great company. Spoke to both Shaun and John in the lead up to viewing a car, very professional and well mannered. Had the car ready and waiting for me after 1hr 1/2 half journey and all sorted within a few hours. I then had a nightmare where I had to change the car, through no fault of Dace, but my own stupidity - they were understanding and couldn't do more to help, even though I'm sure a number of other dealerships would have said tough! we bought a car from dace in july, we were told it would have a service and mot when we picked it up, it didn't. we were also told the salesman would tax it, he didn't, the car had a fault with the emissions, after numerous phone calls we were asked to return to showroom, the salesman assured us it would get sorted out, it did eventually after being let down at least 5 times, not good service, another annoying thing is the part exchange rate was terrible, we were offered £300 for our old car, two weeks later it was on their website at £1777, i understand they need to make a profit but that's ridiculous! read more
