My son and I were visiting OSU and were looking for something to do when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. We're both guitar players and found this place. We decided to check it out. We weren't going to buy anything, but the guy in the store said play whatever you want. And we did. They had an awesome selection of acoustic and electric guitars, including some really cool vintage stuff. The guy working that day was friendly and helpful, even though he knew we weren't going to purchase anything. We did decide to buy a shirt and a hat. Their selection is rather bland, charging over a grand for some Frankensteined Gibsons, The Owner or Manager always sounds condescending, though even in the tiny selection he manages not to actually have a clue what he is talking about. The guitars are not set up well, I found a floyd rose Kramer that had strings thicker than wire. The entire Amp section is messy, and the staff is genuinely uninformed, yet cocky. It is truly sad that this is Stillwater's only music store. I recommend if you live in the area which I don't go to Tulsa Guitar house. Edmond music, Larsen Music or really anywhere in the state, but there. It is just an overhyped junk store. Truly an embarrassment. read more

Daddy O's has a new owner. Mike Shannon finally sold his business to Drew Winn, a former employee. Drew also has a music store in downtown Tulsa. I always felt welcome with Mike and I still feel welcome now that Drew has remodeled the store and stocked it with a lot more merchandise. The times I have been in Daddy O's recently, I believe the prices were about the same as you could expect at any retail store. Thanks to both Mike and Drew, Daddy O's has a large vintage inventory for those who want some of the finest instruments and amps ever manufactured. read more

I've been here many times to buy various musical accessories. I even bought an acoustic guitar from them. I understand you will pay a little more here and I have always been happy to. I like to support local businesses and that is why I have come here for my musical needs and have for almost all of my life. However, with prices on the high side you would expect to have good customer service. And really shouldn't every business want that? However, in my last few experiences buying/browsing/inquiring at Daddy O's I have not had pleasant experiences. The staff seem to not care. They will make you feel stupid if you have a question. Tell you the bare minimum if asked for advice. A real sense of snubness was felt. In general, they act like they don't want to be there, or you to be there for that matter. I really hope the staff doesn't work off commission. These things happened the last two months I have been in there. I hope to see a change in staff or attitude because that is the only way I will return. I am sorry Mike, but you have lost another customer. read more

I can't say a bad thing about these guys. They take amazing care of me every time I go in, above and beyond what's called for. They're friendly, helpful, kind, and most of all tolerant of my never-ending ignorant questions. Daddy-O's music store in Stillwater OK is a great place to shop if you want to get screwed on a cheap guitar. Their prices are generally 30-60% higher than can be purchased elsewhere (most stuff is double what it is going for elsewhere, and the used gear is typically double its worth!). Their inventory consists of gear targeted towards school kids wishing to get a guitar for Christmas. The last time I was in there (i had to buy a harmonica for an "emergency replacement" for a gig that night, the lee oskar harp cost me $50) they had the store moderately stocked with squire, mexican strats, and seagull acoustics. The store clerks are also a reason I will never shop there unless I absolutely have to. They are generally "unapprochable" and seem more concerned in talking socially amoungst themselves instead of taking care of customers. When ask a question, (this has happen to me three times in the four times I have been in there in the last 12 years). You are either belittled by the question you are asking and made to feel ignorant or treated with a smart allec response. This store preys on the unsuspecting or unknowing parent or inexperienced musician that knows little about their needs or value of musical products. There is no competition within an hours drive in any direction... so it continues to get away with treating folks the way that they do and overcharging for there products. cavet emptor read more

DOMC has always treated me well and fairly during the many business dealings I have made with them. Good service and hometown type care.

I heard they had some used junior drum kits; I called and they had the brand I wanted. I went in and was taught how to assemble/disassemble, care for and tune the drums, and they were all loaded in my car for me! I was treated like a VIP for just a small purchase. I'll go back. read more
