I wish I could give the lunch hour employees a 5 star rating, and fhe new owners a negative score. I've been eating here for 20 years, but things have drastically changed in the past year. If I could write zero stars I would. This restaurant has gone down hill fast since it has changed owners. I wouldn't dare to guess how long it's been since anything has been wiped down. The backs of the booths are grime smeared. The floor is covered in garbage. The employees are rude. I went through the drive through for a chicken strip meal and was told they were not serving food at that time... so then what exactly is being sold...? When I asked for ranch dipping sauce I was handed a Newman's Own ranch salad dressing packet by the nonchalantly slow-moving staff. We found quite a surprise in the DQ box when we opened it up a few minutes later. An unidentifiable glop of something white--the texture of warm Play Doh to the touch--in a styrofoam container was what we believe to be mashed potatoes, but we're not completely certain. I went into the restaurants drive thru today. The line was somewhat lengthy but that is understandable as it is during the worlds hardest times the COVID-19. However, that did not stop the workers from charging me extra and being mouthy. I get that we are all stressed during this fine but I got up to the window after I ordered a regular butterfinger blizzard. I came to the window and I handed the lady a coupon for the blizzard upgrade from the free Sunday coupon for a $1.06 (including tax). Along with that I handed her my debit card. She got mouthy towards me because I did not notify her at the speaker. I didn't know I had the coupon until it was time to pay. She got mouthy and was quite rude. Then charged me extra for my blizzard. She charged me $3.07 for a blizzard that should of costed $1.06!! This is outrageous! I get it's only $2 more but there is no reason I should be getting charged extra. So I called the restaurant but instead accidentally contacted the Boise store. After about 10 minutes we figured out that I had the wrong store by accident but for the inconvenience of the Burley restaurant they gave me a free blizzard option for when I am in town there again. Typical DQ but it is clean and not too busy. Friendly staff does give it a bit more of a home town joint feeling which is why I give it 4 stars instead of typical DQ 3. Of course I don't go to DQ for burgers - I go for the chicken basket and ice cream so my rating doesn't cover the burger part of menu. It isn't best place in town but I do stop by even though it is on the opposite side of town from where I normally am when I am in the mood for a blizzard or in the area. read more

At this Dairy Queen in particular, there are never enough condiments in the blizzards, and the bottom quarter of the cup is only plain vanilla ice cream despite the $5 you paid for the treat. If you specify you'd like extra condiments, you'll pay an extra fee and sometimes get a blizzard that demonstrates what Dairy Queen advertises as a blizzard with such pride. If you are dissatisfied with your visit, you're always welcome to provide your information and description to the corporate website, but unlike other franchises, you won't receive an apology or any restitution. In fact, you may not ever know whether or not your review was received. The car behind me ordered a blizzard the same size as mine and was piled with ice cream 2" above the rim. They brought me my blizzards FINALLY and they were completely FLAT on top.
