I saw on tiktok the "cupcake" thinking it was a legit cupcake with ice cream but it wasn't. Was supposed to be like an ice cream cake is what tiktok made it seem like. So they don't have them here so they make them by hand. It is ice cream, then some crunchies, more ice cream then they put this fake whip topping on and call it whip cream. The ice cream part was tasty. I also ordered a diet coke to where there was sooooo much ice that I couldn't put the straw in, so say light ice. I also ordered the pretzels, which I would buy again but I would say no butter and no salt. It was literally drowning in butter to where the bag was soaked through. Anyway, we continue on our way, just to find out that apparently they not only were out of cheesecake, they were out of Oreos too!! As you can see in the picture, cookies are very hard to find!! Nice clean DQ with friendly staff. Was fairly empty during our visit, so our ice cream desserts were ready quick. The Blizzard and sundae were both very good. Before you ask why a Yelper would even go to DQ, I was talked into going here by a friend. I hadn't eaten at one since I was young, but even then I remember being underwhelmed by any food they had. This location is a new looking place and is warm *looking* inside. This was the only bright spot. Menu was a bit confusing and cashier was right in our face without the slightest hint of letting us "order when we were ready". So...I figured I'd just choose the easy route and buy a burger combo. They had a so called cheeseburger combo for $6. Order made simple right? Nope. Bill was over $8. I looked at the receipt and this "cheeseburger meal" had $.49 added for cheese. OK? Wouldn't that mean this was a $6 hamburger meal? I asked the cashier what gives and he said he had no idea (he was new). By the way, everything else, lettuce, etc. was an additional charge of .29 or whatever. NEVER seen this scam before at fast food. Sure, some places will upsell cheese, but not the reverse of it...where you have to delete all ingredients to potentially get the advertised price. Not sure if this is even legal... The burger itself was fair to decent, although the amount of fries given was about the equivalent of the value size at BK or similar and they were cold. And speaking of "cold" this place was freezing inside. It was maybe 30 outside and the window person was running every drive thru order out the front door to cars. It never warmed up. Final insult to injury - kiosk has nothing...just straws. If you want napkins, ketchup...anything, you have to go back to the front and ask. All in all, a total rip off at $8 and I would have been on the fence at half that. This was a pitiful excuse for a DQ. We waited 15 minutes for 3 blizzards that were not blizzard thick. One of which splattered all over the table when he tipped it upside down. He apologized and got us some napkins and asked if I wanted it remade...uh no thanks I already waited 15 minutes and obviously there's something wrong with the ice cream if spills now it will probably spill next time too. For a newer Dairy Queen, this place is a let down. I've been here a few times and it seems that they are always out of basic items, example: ranch dressing, coke, straws. Today I watched my food sit I. The window for several minutes while the employees had a heated conversation (in front of everyone,) over someone not doing their job. honestly, i was ecstatic when this dairy queen first opened up in my town. however, i quickly lost that feeling of happiness when i actually ordered and ate there. as it was close to my school, a lot of students would walk there after school ended. the service soon became slower and they began messing up orders. once they took an hour to make my friend's SMALL smoothie, but whenever she received it, it was the wrong flavor and it was incredibly liquidy (like water). ridiculous. i stopped going there. now, there is an AMAZING coffee shop called 60 Beans across from my school where my friends and i go ALL the time. screw dairy queen, go 60 beans. thanks. read more
