TST were able to give me a quote and arrange with us a time for the car to go into their paint shop. I must admit we were quite apprehensive at first at the thought of how our brand new car would fare! However the paint job was superb, the colour matching excellent band the nasty deep scratch, a thing of the past! The price of the repair was a fraction of what I would have been charged at the main dealership.

But in my opinion, the best thing anyone taking their car in to Kwik Fit can do is drive straight past and hang a left to the Hampton Lane Garage.

They are Aston Martin specialists but also sell Porcshe, Ferrari, posh looking 4x4's and more. Its in a bit of odd location really with parking around there being a bit tricky. Stratstone has been in business since 1921. That's nearly a century - almost as long as cars have been in existence! The Cardiff branch specializes in Lotus and Aston Martins, but can supply you with the car of your dreams, whatever the make, as long as you've got the cash to pay for it. This is very unlikely as far as I'm concerned, but every now and then I like to indulge in a spot of window shopping, just to keep abreast of how the 'other half' live. Something struck me as I peered through the pristine plate glass windows, scrunching my nose, with mouth agape, in that kind of none-comprehending questioning way that we tend to assume when the answer is straight in front of us, but we haven't quite figured it out yet... Stratstone have publicized the fact that they are in the market for second hand Lotus, up to five years old, which I simply thought might be a ploy to get people to trade in their old sports cars and buy a new one. But then it dawned on me... even the rich might be feeling the pinch! How about that?

Background - bought a YUASA 5 year warranty battery locally in Wiltshire from Halfords last year…read morewhich failed to start the vehicle in the M4 services near Newport (we were going on holiday). Push started vehicle and drove to Newport Halfords branch at 7.00 pm on a Friday. Vehicle was tested by the Halfords staff and they agreed the battery had failed. Not having the receipt with me, I was expecting to have to pay for a replacement and then have to fight to get refunded at by local branch on our holiday return. But no, the manager Jamie used manager's discretion and supplied a new replacement which is working perfectly now. Well done Halfords - most impressed with the customer service. You will be repaid with my business in the future !
