I went there for my scheduled cleaning (which was fine), the Hygienist was nice and easy to deal with. Then the dentist came in and advised that I had 3 cavities and 3 crowns that were necessary. The cavities were so shallow that novocaine wasn't required. The estimate for the work was very costly (well over $1,500.00) and so I left to think about it. After some research and talking to a few others it seems that everyone I spoke with had 3 shallow cavities that didn't need novocaine. When the Dentist's office called to schedule follow up appointments I questioned the staff and after considerable discussion found out that the crowns were not necessary but only a recommendation. I felt as though the Dental office had gone through my benefits (which are good) and went shopping (for lack of a better term) to see what they could get. Needless to say this put me off. A year or so later I went to a different dentist for x-rays and a cleaning. The new dentist did not indicate that there were any problems that needed addressing. So I asked, no crowns no cavities? The answer was no. I feel this office purposely tried to manipulate me into spending considerable money on work that was unnecessary and I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

She was thorough, kind, knowledgeable and above all she didn't try and sell me something I don't need. She told me stuff about my teeth that my previous dentist hadn't mentioned. In fact, THAT doctor tried to sell me a night guard EVERY 6 months... super frustrating since I don't grind my teeth, have pain etc. But I digress, the office is nicely done and everything is high tech, her assistant and the front desk staff are all lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

I was looking for a clinic that would allow me to shadow the dental professionals to learn more about the dentistry and prepare myself for my future career. Harvard Rd Dental Care welcomed me with open arms! After shadowing in this dental practice for almost 40 hours, I can say that Dr. Hendricks and Dr. Abdalla are true professionals. They spend time with each patient and ensure that the patient understands their own oral health. They talk through all of the possible treatment plans so that patients can have the autonomy to choose what works best for them. The doctors take photos before and after each procedure to show the patient what was accomplished, and ensure that the patient is happy with the outcome. Dr. Hendricks and Dr. Abdalla evidently care about each patient that enters their practice, and their welcoming personalities help patients feel comfortable. The rest of the team at Harvard Rd Dental shows just as much kindness and care for their patients as the dentists do! Deb, Kori, and Jess are great to talk to, but more importantly, excellent dental professionals! I got my first root canal done in the fall, and I got my crown put on today. I was absolutely terrified. Dr. Cantwell is so gentle and so good at what he does. I healed up very well from my root canal and I got the Crown prep today and that went extremely smooth. Everyone at the reception desk is always very kind and answers all of my dumb questions that I tend to ask, I highly recommend this dentist!!! I'd like to give it 10 stars if I could!!!
