A new dentist, a woman, told me it was time for a crown on one of my molars. She did such a terrible job, she created a large gap between my teeth...a food trap. I was having discomfort from day one, I even delayed paying them because my tooth was causing me pain. I found a new dentist that helped filled the gap, treated me with respect. This new dentist has now advised me that decay is now to the bone. I now have to have a very expensive procedure that involves an implant. I am saddened and frustrated...I will be contacting the appropriate governing body to let them know the damage that Dr. Karma has done to my mouth. Tammy Cook

That is until I called up after a long tooth hiatus to make an appointment. I looked for my old dental practice, which seems to have been bought out by Robie St. Dental. New dentist? Doesn't bother me. Like I said before, need dentist, go to dentist. Anyways, I made an appointment and went. The staff are some of the friendliest people you ever want to meet! They have coffee while you wait, which I thought was weird.. coffee breath? Not really something I want right before someone digging in my mouth, but it's a nice touch. The Hygienist is nice and knows her stuff. As for my dentist? She could be my best friend. She is amazing. So friendly and genuine in her interactions with you. She also worked with me and my dental plan so that she didn't go over. She explained what was going on with my teeth, showed me photos (which I thought was cool) during the process of filling a tooth. Gross and awesome all at the same time. She's constantly checking in while working on your teeth to make sure you're doing okay and diligent with keeping your airways clear! If you get fillings and have to wear "the raincoat" you know what I'm talking about. Her dental assistant is also a sweet heart. They are an awesome team, the whole lot of them. I can't lie, I thought the building was pretty sketchy on the outside but I would 100% recommend anyone who needs a dentist going here. The inside is lovely and I've only had fantastic experiences and results here.

I will however, give a big thumbs up to the Mumford Family Dental Center. Dr. Brower and Dr. Moore are the kindest, funniest people in the industry of dental work! Whenever I visit the dentist, I go home with a big smile on my face. They make me feel welcome, help me laugh to keep my mind off the work they are doing and I never wait for my appointment. The staff are so friendly, and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Stephen Creaser has a true passion/love for his job. He explains all of the steps he is taking and insured that I was completely comfortable (yay no pain!!). He also takes photos of your teeth! So at the end of your appointment you get to see (from his view) what he did, why and how! Its pretty (gross) cool! Dr. Creaser's prices are really reasonable too! I visited their location on December 23 with a very painful tooth that lost its filling. They…read morex-rayed and told me yes, the filling came out but they don't have time to fix it. They let me leave in pain and took $100 from me. How sad is this, I was absolutely shocked they wanted me to live with this pain until January. I made an appointment with a clinic in Bedford and had the tooth repaired the same day of my visit to Lacewood. I am shocked by the lack of urgency, empathy, and basic patient care demonstrated during this appointment. I took time out of my day, drove to the clinic in pain, and left in the exact same condition -- only poorer and extremely disappointed. For comparison, I contacted another dental clinic today, as a new patient, they immediately made arrangements to treat me and address the issue so I could be pain-free during the holidays. This is the level of care I would expect from my regular dentist--especially for a straightforward repair that could have been completed quickly. The dentist I saw today showed no concerns for my suffering and no willingness to help. That lack of compassion and professionalism is unacceptable in a healthcare setting. I will NEVER return and would suggest you find a better clinic as there are many here in Halifax, stay away from Lacewood dental and or anu corporately owned smiles clinic, they are terrible and all about robbing us.

I went to Dr. Helpin back in July. I had terrible pain, and I needed work done on my teeth. Another…read moredentist said I needed them all out. He said he could save them. I was given to Dr. Murphy to do the work because I use Nitrous Oxide. Having the dental work gives me major anxiety and I made that clear to them. After the first procedure, I went back and explained how my tooth was still on fire. I had throught it was full of stitches or something. Dr. Ryan said no work had been done. I found that strange as that was the only place I had ever felt constant pain, and the reason I Went for the treatment in the first place. Dr. Murphy wanted to do things in segmants, so I came back to do fillings etc. Again I told him, I was in pain. He quite bluntly told me " If there is a problem in the future, we will address it then!" I knew I couldnt bring it up anymore without making him more upset. As time went on the pain got worse. My face began to swell. I had already spent my money with Bridgeview, so I went to Dal and asked if someone could look at my tooth as I was in such pain. They put me on a list. Then Covide hit. During Covid19, I wrote to Dr. Helpin, asking for help. I couldn't bear the pain. He suggested antibiotics, but I reminded him he had clearly told me before that my situation was too late for them, and that was why he had to pull some out. During this time, I went on anti anxiety meds. The only prescription I have had to go on or am on now. I cried daily and couldn't figure why they kept ignoring my same tooth. I called the office when things re-opened, and got in. Dr. Murphy did one xray on the painful tooth, which was now hugely swollen inside and out, and said " So, you aren't crazy, there is a problem". " He then goes on to say how Dr. Helpin may want to change his mind, and pull all my upper teeth out, but this time put me into a hospital to do it. After doing all the work to save them. I couldn't believe it. One minute the clinic was calling me to get my partial denture plan, and then suddenly I am starting over? All my pain, all my stress, all the times I begged for help, and I was correct all along? I got booked into see Dr. Helpin. I suffered through a two week, anxiety filled two weeks, only to get a call from the office. It was a holiday on that week that my apointment fell on. It was going to be postponed again. I cried all night. When I finally saw Dr. Helpin, he didn't seem to have a clue who I was. He said, "I can understand why you want to get all your teeth pulled out". I was in shock. I looked at him speechless. He then said "Well, Helen, what did you want me to do for you?" I told him, my face is so sore I can't touch it. He said "yes, I can see the swelling from here" I reminded him of what he has originally said and then when I mentioned my jaw, which dislocates, he looked shock and said "I need to look at your records and get a complete new work up. I will get you back in. I realized he hadn't prepped for me at all, nor did he know who l was. I begged him to do something now. Xrays. Anything. He just kept saying, "no, can't help you today" The next appointment given to me was for August 24. A month and half away. I told them I may be dead by then. I hadn't been able to eat solid food since they did the work and changed my bridge. Both dentists Knew, that after the work done at the clinic, I couldn't close my mouth without the dentures in, because my mouth now locked shut from the missing teeth. I couldn't eat anything. I was living on boost. I couldn't believe the lack of compassion, the wasted money and time, and the months of unnecessary pain. You are supposed to be in the helping profession, not taking money without helping, neglect and zero caring about the result. After that I left the clinic, l decided to find a caring dentist. I googled "female dentists" and found Bedford South Dental Clinic. I sent a Face Book Messages to them saying, I Know you have many patients, but I am in pain, and my dentist won't help me. They said " we will make it work if you are in pain" They got me in within a few days. By the time I left, I had an appointment for a root canal specialist, who got me in within 9 days. She was painless and amazing. The swelling started going down and the pain was gone. They also got me a referral for my dislocating jaw and Some coverage will be provided for any hospital care. Nothing was done for it at your clinic. It was forgotten. They fixed the denture l already paid you to do. For free. All this was done before your clinic could even get me in for x rays on August 24th. I work in a barbershop in your area. I have gone from saying how happy I was to find a dentist, to how much pain I was left in. I am a very vocal person. At this point, I feel that I was put through an amazing amout of pain for no reason. My care was sub standard. I would have gotten the same care in China, but at a much cheaper price.

Dr. Ben Davis did my wisdom teeth surgery 6 years ago, and then Dr. Thompson took over with my braces! Since then, I've been back to see him for various reasons and am about to have another minor surgery with Dr. Davis. From the Orthodontists to the Receptionists, everyone at Park Lane Dental is amazing!
