A convenient function centre situated in East Melbourne/Richmond next to Epworth Freemasons hospital. It has that memorial theme to help us pay our respects for those who served for us in the world war times. It is like a museum in itself with artworks and historical artefacts scattered around for show and tell. The buildings inside are old and distinctive, although the main auditorium is well designed and the seats aren't too bad. It has an inviting theme, and is a function centre that has stood the test of time. There is ample parking available, and the Box Hill tram (route 109) conveniently stops nearby. The sound quality in the auditorium is world class, and the function room downstairs is inviting and welcoming as well.
If you can it would be better to book a function in the city; however for a traditional feel and at cost effective prices, then this establishment would be ideal for you. There is an abundance of choice from small rooms; a seminar room downstairs to the main auditorium. Spacious with that 70's feel indeed. Apparently this centre does cater, and their cute little pastries melt in your mouth. Bliss. Worth considering if the city does not work for you. read more
