fantastic dogs and burgers, the owner Sammi makes you feel right at home and the fresh food is a welcome surprise for a kingston hole in the wall greasy spoon. I eat here every day before my shift because it is the only place i can get full for under $10 due to the amazingly economic pricing. That being said my meal is always in front of me within five minutes of ordering, and i know it is fresh because i see it getting made before my very eyes. This is definitely where you want to come if you are on a budget and want some great eats. My only critique is i wish it was 23/7 like so many greasy spoons are so that it could be a stop on bar crawls. Aside from that, this establishment's chili sauce is amazing, burgers are juicy yet lean, and dogs are to die for. A kingston gem if i ever seen one. read more

Ugh. This is a hard pass...the hot dogs were, lukewarm, soft, mushy and covered in a secret sauce that resembles baby food, and something you find in a baby's diaper. Sorry. but it's true. The place is reminiscent of an old time diner. And it is I think, and the service was just okay. No warm and fuzzy vibes here. The French fries and onion rings looked good, though. Dallas Hot Wieners is a great place to go if you're in mood for a delicious hot dog. My boyfriend and I hadn't gone out on a date for a few weeks and wanted to try Kingston. We chose to give this place a chance. My only complaint is that while we were waiting for our dogs, a high ranking staff member working behind the grill demanded that we be seated as we waited for our food. He was extremely disrespectful to my boyfriend who was only trying to pay. He rudely pronounced that payment comes after you eat and would not listen as we told him we were trying to take the food to go. He then slammed our bag of food on the counter when he was finished making it and we left, dissatisfied with the service. read more

I go here all the time. I have literally eaten here dozens, if not hundreds of times. I can rattle off my order without looking up. "Dallas cheeseburger special with cheese and sauce on the fries, two with everything, and a large diet." Not much of a diet, eh? Well, that's how I roll. The hot dogs aren't of the highest quality, but that doesn't matter. They probably steam in that vat for hours by the time I get there. Hot dog water isn't the most pleasing concept, but you really don't go there for the flavor or quality of the dog. It's the sauce. I have no idea how they make this sauce, or how they make it so addictive. I think they put some kind of drug in there, because I can't get enough. I order it on everything. I've never bought any to take home, because I think it would lose its magical properties when it comes out the door with me. The burger patties are small, to be sure, but you can upgrade to a 1/4 pound burger patty for a little extra. The tomato slices are a little too thick compared to DHW's tomato slices "years ago" but I'm not complaining. I sit down, order my regular order, ask for my paper, and eat in bliss. Their fries are excellent -- hot, crispy, and inviting. I get them smothered in cheese and sauce... always. This is not a fancy restaurant. I usually eat here alone, because I feel so at home here and I don't know if any of my Health Food Hipster buddies would be able to enjoy it without a guilt bomb detonating somewhere inside them. My order comes out to just over $10. It's totally worth it, as I'm full for the rest of the day. This CASH only location is one of two or three in the Kingston area. Fantastic hot dogs, some of the best I have had in some time. They are reminiscent of a dog you would get off of a food truck in New York City (boiled dog, soft roll). The hot dog itself has a spice to it that is pleasant which makes it unique to many. The prices are very low. I went with my mother and grandmother, got them three hot dogs, a heaping order of fries, and three fountain sodas for about twelve dollars! I recommend getting the dogs with the mustard, onions, secret sauce, and sauerkraut. The menu is pretty diverse and they do have breakfast items, including hard rolls usually a more Long Island/NYC item. While I will always be faithful to my beloved Nathan's Famous, I will look for these whenever I am in the area. Also try the soups, a nice daily special! read more

Yes, yummy. The sauce (plus mustard and onions) is the best ever, hands down, for a hot dog. Go there! There's also one uptown and across from the Kingston High School and one in Saugerties, but this one is the best. read more

The hot dogs and fries are your standard tasty, steamed pork and beef mix with casings, and deep-fried shoe strings, respectively. It's the house sauce which is the killer. I can only describe the sauce as a subtle, sweet and spicy beefy cross between soup and gravy. You won't go wrong with the fresh soft buns, either. The folks behind the counter are more than friendly, and I did see some other patrons (who seemed to be regulars) eating other dishes, such as cheeseburgers and tuna sandwiches. Dallas Hot Weiners is worth the five minutes from the I-87 if you happen to be hungry (or not) when doing a road trip. read more

Adorable small family-run place. Delicious food at great prices. I admit I'm a hot dog snob-- and these were really good!! The Dallas sauce is a slightly spicy chili-type sauce that was great on both the dogs and burgers. And the people were terrific! Just be sure to bring cash. I'm about to start my party for the JETS playoff game and am jonesing for Dallas Hot Weiners. Here in Santa Clarita , CA and wishing I could recreate that sauce. As a kid growing up it was my favorite place in the world to go. I remember my dad taking us before the Drive In movie on Route 28 and buying at leat a dozen for 3 kids my mom and dad. Believe me it wasn't enough. At 7 I could power down 4 of them. This is still hands down the best hot dog I ever ate. I took my son there (he's 7 now) when he was an infant on a cold winter day and just put a little of the sauce on my finger for him to taste and that was the day we discovered he had his first tooth. He wouldn't let go of my finger he loved the sauce so much. If go home to visit it's the # 1 stop on my journey. read more

Lately the buns are over steamed all wrinkled the sauce has no place to go but off the dog today at 11am 2 with everything, the buns were flat the hot dogs and the sauce were luke warm. The hot weiners at Dallas are soooo GOOD! A little spicy but not too much at all. In fact, I think they could make them just a dash spicier. Delicious sauce! Burgers are nothing special, same goes for the shoe-string fries. They are okay, not bad but not to-die-for. I find that a root beer and/or fries goes nicely with those Dallas dogs! They serve the hot weiners with tiny onion bits, mustard and a generous amount of Dallas hot weiner sauce goes onto the dog and served on a warm bun. The hot dogs themselves are boiled and they taste similar to a Ball Park or an Oscar Meyer hot dog (in MY opinion). They are NOT greasy like Nathan's or anything heavy tasting. Prices are good and you can even buy their tasty sauce TO GO! They sell it in different sizes and those prices are reasonable, too. If you love hot dogs, I recommend stopping here. Nice staff, too. I've been going there to the North Front Street and the Broadway locations for years. read more
