I would have given this place a much better review, but unfortunately our experience was really affected by how we were treated. The person working the grill yelled at me and my son on three separate occasions. At first, I thought it might have been a misunderstanding or just trying to be heard over the noise, but it continued. The last instance was especially frustrating my 4-year-old had just come out of the bathroom and was happily running to his mom, and I was yelled at to make sure he stopped running from the bathroom to the seating area. Wow, folks here are super friendly! This is a neighborhood staple. There is another location further north which we love so decided to try this one while in town. Food was hot and fresh. We wanted to order to go for friends and had to order it at the same time since they were closing, but they were kind enough to double bag to keep it hot. Also since they were closing we got our food wrapped to go, no options for trays, which was challenging for the kids but we made it work. Also, a mouse ran by but i think it came in from the outside and ran right back outside- they have to eat too i guess. The food comes out super quickly. Will never come here again. My husband ordered a plain hotdog but they accidentally brought one with all the toppings. They took the order back into the kitchen and wiped the sauerkraut, mustard, etc off the bun and left some still on the bun. When asked to make a new one it came totally cold. We paid way too much for that quality of food and how small the burgers are. Guess Buffalo Wild Wings burgers for the win even more now. read more

Wifey and I stopped in here after a long day of cleaning out her Mom's old townhouse. We both got the Original Bun burgers (1/4 pounders with their special sauce, lettuce, tomato and cheddar) and a small fries. Burger was very good...fries were AWESOME (hint, one small is probably good for two). Wifey also got a Catskills Brewery Devil's Path IPA and I got a Pumpkin Pie shake. They were very busy tonight and they messed up our order a little, but fixed it quickly (only gave us one order of fries and forgot my shake). They are a little pricey, but this IS In Uptown Kingston so nothing is cheap. I would definitely come back here the next time we're here and want burgers. read more

Was up in Kingston for the first time and found this place on Yelp. Helpers, you didn't disappoint. It is a very inviting corner store with tons of light which is welcoming. The menu is on the back wall and the items a pretty clearly listed. After confirming with the girl at the counter I went for the Dirty Bird. The sandwich was excellent! The chicken great and the pimento cheese was a great addition. It was kind of a mess, but the best kind of mess. My wife for the chicken tenders. There were more than enough for her and for me to sneak a couple of bites from her. Tender and juicy with a really good coating on the outside and served with a side of BBQ sauce. But the fries, oh man, the fries were great! They were thinner cut hand-cut fries and they were cooked perfectly! Not oily, crispy and dark, just like they should be. I ordered the large bucket and it was a bucket. They fill it and fill an additional quarter of the bag. They were perfectly salty and I couldn't stop eating them. All of their burgers were cooked to a medium temperature unless instruction was given. All of their food was supposedly made and sourced from the best ingredients. I went with the double lamb eater ($12.35) with fries. I told them I did not want fries but was given them anyway for an extra charge I believe, not a big deal as they were crispy and seasoned nicely. The lamb eater consisted of 2 lamb patties with lemon-oregano mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickled red onion. This was tasty. The lamb patties had nice flavor while the mayo enhanced the meat as a whole. My only complaint would be the sogginess on the buns due to the number of toppings inside. Will I go back? It looks to be fairly new, as all the decor and tables/chairs looked new. We each got a sandwich and shared the chicken nuggets and fries. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get! - Original bun: single patty is $7.15, double $10.15. This is their original cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and BUNS SAUCE yummmm. The bun is kinda like a hawaiian bun and buttered on the outside. The meat was nicely cooked to medium (their standard) and cheese perfectly melty! - Chicken nuggets: I think there were ~10 nuggets for only $4.50. Breading isn't typical, but it was still crisp and it seemed like all the pieces were dark meat. Comes with a tangy bbq sauce and good to share - Fries: thin crispy fries, my fave style! You can get a small size or a bucket. Since there were 4 of us, we opted for a bucket but there were way more than we could finish They have other sandwich options like veggie, lamb, and chicken sandwich if hamburgers aren't your thing. It's a cute place with decent food but I had a weird experience with a staff member there. Younger woman with dark hair. All I wanted was some water (which I had no problem paying for) she gave me a cup to use at the soda dispenser. There were two water droplet signs with no distinction. I pressed down on one the water droplet signs and some plain seltzer came out. I was disappointed because frankly I hate seltzer but I hate wasting food more so I just sat down and started drinking it. She then comes over to reprimand me telling me she's gonna charge me extra. I told her I just wanted water and that it was a mix up. Maybe give me a cup of water or label the machine? Just weird she felt the need to accuse me as if we hadn't just paid for everything else why would I steal some bubbling water? We stopped by here while visiting Kingston for the weekend and were looking for some quick lunch we could eat in our hotel room. I flipping love portobello burgers and honestly have struggled to find them in NYC. I got an original burger where they substituted a portobello mushroom for the beef patty and my husband got the veggie stacker. We also split an order of fries between us. I got some buns sauce on the side to dip my fries in, which, if you visit, I highly recommend doing. My portobello burger was phenomenal, and honestly, rethinking about it right now I want another one. My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his veggie stacker. Very cute spot. We were starving and just walked in. The dirty bird chicken sandwich was delicious! I left off the pimento cheese because the creamy cole slaw was enough. The chicken was crispy and tasty. The yard burger was also good - it was cooked well, flavorful and well seasoned. The fries were good. We split one order of fries between two adults and a toddler and it wS enough for all of us. The only complaint we had was that the buns were too big in relation to the meat. Three stars is generous -- had a lunch, asked for a better with no cheese and got this. The delivery girl said it was all or nothing, and made to effort to add a pickel or tomato. Also, the burgers aren't supposed to be charred, but this one was. Just a mess. All of it. My chicken sandwich was a handful of messy goodness, and the fries are delicious, so I was happy; but the burgers - not so much. I hope they get their act together. Train the staff, and never put out a burger that looks like this - ever. I'd probably go back in a pinch, but it's unlikely I can convince my family to give it another chance. We will see. read more

Always a treat stopping by this place for lunch. I get the veggie stacker with hand cut fries and of course I have to get a vanilla milkshake. First of all I'm usually hesitant ordering a veggie burger from anywhere because they are often not down well. This veggie stacker is a creative twist on a typical boring and bland vegetarian burger. It's a great combo of flavors! The mushroom and sweet potato go great together. The fries are crispy and perfectly done. After hiking on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and feeling hungry, I checked the Yelp reviews and decided to try out the local fare. The 4 oz patty might seem small, but paired with thick tomato slices, lettuce, special sauce, and pickles, it was exceptional. Cannot believe how good the veggie stack is. I hate onions but their pickled onions were so good, perfectly crisp tangy. The seasonings definitely made this a have to try. Stopped in buns burgers when we decided we wanted some lunch when walking down the street, so conveniently located! We walked in, and boy was it packed in there. Seating is find your own, so it's definitely easier to have two people go during peak hours to "save" seats while the other person orders. In would say this is a fast food burger and hot dog joint, so tables do get turned pretty quickly. After ordering, you're given a table number to put but there's you sit so there know where the food is going. Not sure if staff are unaware to look at these numbers when delivering food.. When we had sat down we were asked if we had gotten a chocolate milkshake (we did not), then she proceeded to go to multiple other tables asking. We thought we had seen our god come out, but then after multiple tables said if was not their food, they eventually made its way to us. They must've been confused further because we only got two of our three meals. The person who has our third one went back to the ones cooking and asked where it went, where the cooks proceeded to say that it went with the other two orders that were already dropped off to us. We were also missing a hard cider, which ended up needing to get poured after wet had told them. At this point, the fries were a little cold. The hotdog was great with the pimento cheese, the cheese really made it worth it! My husband said it was the softest hotdog he's eaten. The burgers were ok, they picked onions on the lamb burger were excessive. I could've gone with half the amount. It did have a lot of flavor though! The regular burger was ok, less seasoned in comparison to the lamb burger. Overall, it's good for a quick stop! Keep in mind, there is an uncharge of 3.5% if using a credit card. They have one veggie option which is just a HUGE portobello burger with extra veggies. The Sweet Potato slab on it was sooo good, as were the pickled onions, but whoever OK'd adding cucumbers to this needs to reconsider everything they know about burgers. Incredibly weird addition that added nothing to a burger that was almost perfect. We also got a bucket of fries which was huge: we split it three ways and still had leftovers. The location had us go to the first time, but the burgers and fries have us coming back! My favorite is the dirty chicken- better than any Chick-fil-A or other fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. My kids love all the burgers there. The fries and ice cream are great. Very fresh but there is a bit of a wait as it's becoming very popular, but we really just go there when we're in out of town for skiing. Definitely worth the detour off the Thruway. read more

Been going to Buns Burgers, Rhinebeck ,for a few years, totally amazing stuff, and love the outdoor seating. Today, happened by the Kingston Buns ' Burgers. Great burger, but unfortunately, got indigestion, from the loud music, and the off loading of cooking oil, and other supplies. We sat by the window, supplies stacked 3 feet high, with a bit of commotion. Worth the trip back to Rhinebeck the next time. Oh, and in plain view, janitorial brooms and cleaning supplies. read more
