LONG VERSION
Around September last year, I felt a strong pull to get a birth chart reading from a professional astrologer. Prior to that, my exposure to astrology was ankle deep - some books here and there, casual conversations with friends, Instagram memes.
Looking back, I was driven by the desire to tap into a greater sense of flow and freedom by re-tuning the minutiae of my life to the essence of who I am. The birth chart is one fantastic way to do this, but it can get overwhelming doing it yourself especially as a beginner.
I did extensive research and was determined to find an astrologer whose work and personality resonated with me on a gut level. Serendipitously, I came across Britten's website (thanks Google!) and I was immediately drawn to her writing style - which I would describe as the perfect balance of lucidity and poetry.
I initially booked an Astral Integration session (3 hours total), to which I ended up adding an extra hour of recording, and I'm currently in the middle of my Transformation package (6 hours total). In addition, I'm also invested in her Seasonal Teachings, which are 4+ hours of 'transmission-style' recordings discussing the archetype of particular signs of the season (eg. Libra archetype for late September to late October), as well as a week-by-week breakdown of the planetary transits. As you can clearly deduce, I love working with her! I would argue it's one of the best decision I've ever made. Here are some of the reasons why.
The multi-session structure of her readings worked particularly well for me. Rather than 1-hour readings, which is the norm for birth chart readings, she splits her reading into three separate parts: initial discussion, a recording of your birth chart reading which you can listen to deeply in your own privacy at your own pace, then a final follow up discussion to discuss how the reading resonates with you.
The whole experience felt like a journey. It allowed me room and time to reflect on the wisdom she imparted on aspects of my chart and how I can usher in the deepest transformations. In hindsight, the potency of this structure is that it progressively allowed me to reclaim the responsibility of transforming my own life. The time and space between readings are almost as valuable as the readings themselves because that's where the work truly happened for me. I don't see a lot of astrologer using this structure, so kudos to Britten for creating such a powerful container.

Beyond the birth chart readings, I've also requested her to create a guided meditation to facilitate some shadow work I was doing as well as a tarot reading. It's no easy task to facilitate clients as they journey into their own Underworld, but Britten helped me unearth some precious information about ancestral pains that I'm sure I'll continue to work on for a while. Her tarot reading was also very thought-provoking and I'm excited to see how it can shape the next 12 months of my life.
I'm so very grateful of the work she's doing with her clients and of everything else she's putting out into the world.
