I drive 30 mins from where I live to shop at Dambly's, even though there are several garden centers within 10 mins of my home. I am never made to feel unwelcomed and they provide excellent service. Yesterday, I met Ted, a WONDERFUL person who helped me select the right tomatoes and peppers for my Mother-in-Law based on her requirements. Dambly's tends to have a pretty good selection of indoor and outdoor plants, however you do need to watch what they charge you. During my last purchase from them the woman helping me asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes. She then turned to the middle-aged man at the other register to make a comment under her breath about middle-aged women always wanting a receipt and he agreed, "Always!" He gave me a look when he realized I was watching. I come to see on my receipt that they didn't take off the 20% that they had advertised all over the store for their houseplants. Had I not gotten the receipt I wouldn't have known. This is not the first time this has happened either. I believe they shame customers in order to hide what they're actually charging. And if you use a card to pay with they also always do their own squiggle instead of the customer signing or putting in their pin# - pretty sure that isn't legal. You do not know what they are charging you unless you get a receipt. Beware when shopping here! I do think they have one of the better selections around and that's probably how they're able to get away with what they do. Dambly's, DO BETTER! read more

The last and second time I had been there for Christmas decorations, spending over $200.00, I was not feeling well. I developed pneumonia and was hospitalized. When I was released, I was still too weak to even think of putting up a Christmas tree. I called Dambly's to tell them what had happened and I would be returning the decorations that had not been touched. The rude girl on the phone informed me that the last day for returns was Dec. 1st. Nobody had informed me of that, there were no signs stating that nor was it on their sales slips. I was in the freaking hospital on Dec. 1st and the rude girl on the phone would not cut me a break. Dambly's is a great garden center but my review is particularly for their Santa display. We have come here for countless years as a family to take a picture with Santa and our pictures always come out gorgeous and so much more unique than the typical mall santa photos. You bring your own camera or phone so you have the photos immediately in your possession to print at your own leisure. Everyone is so friendly too! $10 for the whole family but with that $10 you get a gift card to use so it isn't bad at all! Highly recommend read more

Do you believe in Santa Claus? Do you celebrate Christmas? Do you get a tree & decorate it? Do you eat Candy Canes? Do you go Christmas shopping? Do you wrap presents on Christmas Eve? Do you make Christmas Cookies? Do you go to Christmas parties? Do you have a big Christmas Feast? Do you act like a kid at Christmas? DO YOU PUT UP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS OUTSIDE? My answers are YES to all of the above except for putting up Christmas lights on the outside of my house.....because we have Dambly's come out and decorate the outside of the house like no one on our block! One year my son wanted ALOT of lights outside...and I knew it wasn't going to happen unless I had someone else come out with a huge ladder and no fear of heights to do so......so I called Dambly's....and the outside of our house looked magnificient! Not too gaudy....just right - sparkling and twinkling & so pretty to look at. A funny side note....when they called I told them we had a very tall Christmas type tree in the front yard and they asked me how tall it was....(i'm not too good at estimating.....keep reading...) and I said it had to be at least 40 or 50 feet....they brought this huge ladder and when they got there they wanted to know where the tree was and I pointed to it and they said "I thought you said it was 40 or 50 feet" and I said "oh, it isn't?" and they said "no, it's about 18 feet tall"....oops....now I can estimate much better! They did a great job, were very courteous and I always tell people to call them to do their outside lights. Merry Christmas!! read more

Best. Garden Center. Ever. In line at the local hardware store, we struck up conversation with a woman about how we were redoing our koi pond and she seemed taken aback when we mentioned we hadn't heard of Dambly's. After unsuccessful attempts at other garden centers we made the 20 minute trip down the road to Dambly's and we were not disappointed. Aside from the koi pond materials (get to that shortly) they had a huge selection of plants, flowers, ceramic pots, trees, outdoor accessories and everything else you want your garden store to have. There are plenty of people available to help you and all of their prices are extremely reasonable. So after looking around a bit we asked if someone could help us with some koi pond recommendations. They called up "John" to help us and he walked a couple of rookies through constructing a beautiful looking pond. He walked us through their large collection of tropical and non-tropical plants, made recommendations on aesthetics and even went as far as picking out the particular fish my fiancee wanted from the tanks. After, he made sure he got us all the necessary chemicals to keep the fish healthy and the pond looking great. The people there are fantastic and we cannot wait to go back. This is one of those places you'll find an excuse to go back to if only to just walk through and look through their selection. Cannot recommend Dambly's enough read more

This place is great to go to purchase livestock and chicken feed. It has better prices for that than agway or tractor supply. They have a great selection of trees, bushes, grasses, perennials, annuals, and vegetable plants. Inside they have fertilizers, canning supplies, and pesticides. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The one thing I don't like is some of the prices on most things. Some of the prices are very high. Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but every time I see the advertisement for "best Santa in town" i think about writing a review. My daughter wanted to see Santa when we were browsing through here last year for an artificial tree and there was no line so I let her. She approached Santa and he spoke to her like a normal Santa for about 30 seconds before he went into a "Jesus is the reason for the season" sermon to her. I kept trying to change the course of conversation to normal Santa stuff but this guy kept pushing his religious agenda. He made me very uncomfortable and my daughter upset and confused. So if you would not like a bible lesson with your Santa visit try somewhere else. In my opinion definitely not the best Santa in town. read more

Over the last few years I have become a loyal customer at Dambly's Garden Center. In the past I may have just picked up a few flats from Produce Junction, thinking I am getting the best deal, but when it comes to my annuals and perennials I haven't seen quality like Dambly's anywhere else. One of the other things that sets them above the rest is the knowledge of the staff. If I ask someone something that they aren't sure about, they are quick to find someone that can answer my question and also make suggestions based on my tastes and the environment I have at home. Year after year I would try different things in a bed of mine that doesn't really get any sun. With a little direction from the staff at Dambly's I have a flourishing bed full of a variety of shady perennials that are a great focus of my yard in an area that used to be an eye sore. You should definitely check them out at Christmastime too, because their displays are beautiful, their selection is fantastic, and their Santa is the best around. read more

I have been purchasing almost all of my garden products, especially Canadian cedar mulch, from Dambly's for the past number of years. They are fantastic. Recently, I had an issue with service and product. Mr. Dambly, himself, came out to my house to apologize for the error and to examine the product. He went above and beyond in fixing the issue. I want to thank this wonderful south jersey garden place for being so helpful while i was there. Not realizing that I left my Louis Vuitton wallet with credit cards and cash right on their counter as I left. About 15 minutes after I left I get a phone call from someone that found my wallet and returned it to the front desk and Ron from garden place called me and told me that some one found my wallet. Their are so many nice wonderful people in this world it makes me feel good knowing that there are people that do the right thing still out there !!!! I can't say enough about the high quality and health of their plants and of the abundant staff ready to help. Even if it is slightly more expensive then some other garden centers, the selection here and the quality of the staff and plants makes this my go-to garden center! i called to confirm santas times. getting a cranky 8 month old there is an effort. we are in line an hour and 20 minutes before they close and the lady said tickets have sold out. um i called the day before for all the details and no once did they mention a ticket. so not only do they charge to see santa they turned away an 8 month old and seemed to enjoy it. his first santa experience ruined! they lost my seasonal mulch orders for life! read more

first off, they order the wrong food!! then they dont call when it comes in, and then when you get there to pick it the food that they ordered that was wrong- they dont even say sorry, or we appologize, or anything. this is not the first time with an issue. when purchasing chicken feed and it was moldy- once again. not 1 appology , or anything. this is the last time i will ever shop there. some of the cashiers are also rude. - sorry but never again . we shopped there 30 yrs ago or a while but we also had issues thats why we left and went somewhere else. thought it would be nice to shop there again , but boy was i wrong. not a customer friendly business in my opinion. no i do not recommed especially if you have livestock, or chickens to feed. not reliable. read more

My son will be two years old in two days. My mother-in-law wanted to take our son to see Santa for the first time and had heard about how beautiful Dambly's Garden Center was. So we decided to take my son to see Santa there. Upon arriving we were glad to see the place, as it was truly pretty and well done and my son was excited as he ran around looking at all the lights and decorations. Then we came to Santa, who had a wonderful set up. Upon walking back to where they kept Santa set up, we got in line behind a family with two adults and two children. It was about 5:20 at this point and the place was empty. Imagine my surprise when Santa's helper came up to us to explain that they were done handing out tickets and we would need to come back another day. My son is 2, he wouldn't be asking Santa for specifics. We simply would have liked to see how our son handled meeting Santa for the first time. Instead we were dismissed because we were a little late (apparently, while the store is open until 6, they only schedule Santa until 5). This experience left a foul taste in my mouth and I do not plan on ever spending any time at this location again. I suggest you take your children to see Santa somewhere where they value customer service. read more
