It was obvious after waiting 6 months, that she was in over her head. After the first few months, she doubled her fees and still never met our agreed upon deadlines for getting our business books ready for tax preparations. We had to let her go and then we had to hire another accounting firm to help fix her mistakes. We have spent over $2500 to "undo" what she did. We have also spend over 100 hours of our personal time, going through our accounts on Quickbooks to fix it. It is so difficult to undo reconciliations and try and fix things that are classified wrong and reconciled wrong on QB. This has been a nightmare. We even brought this to Lee's attention when we realized Jill was unable to complete this job, and we were not refunded nor were we offered someone else in his firm to fix her mistakes. We were very disappointed with her lack of training and her inability to complete the job she agreed to do and was paid to complete. This is a warning to please be careful when hiring her. She is not qualified to handle small businesses on Quickbooks online.

A 40-minute trip to deliver documents cost me a 1 hour fee. Despite the owner being "too busy" to introduce herself, she charged me for "consultation" services. My consultation consisted of sitting alone in a conference room, introducing myself to her administrator, and handing over my files. Ruthless and no concern for you or your company.

Chandler did amend the return at no charge but advised me it was my responsibility to make sure the entire return is correct. I'm not a CPA which is why I paid them for their expertise. I chalked it up to a one time mistake, but the next year I went over the return page by page, line by line, and found multiple mistakes (since it's my responsibility according to them so I spent hour and hours reviewing every line item). Chandler had to modify the return at least 3 times and make many corrections before it could be submitted to the IRS. These were mistakes I found (not them). What is the point of hiring and paying a CPA to file my tax return if I need to learn all the tax laws to find their mistakes. I had to proofread all their work but their fee was never discounted for the countless hours I had to spent proofing the return and bringing errors to their attention. I even had to bring to their attention a typo transposing numbers, a mathematical error, as well as a major error whereas they reflected tax free funds as taxable funds. Needless to say I decided to find a new CPA going forward as I had no confidence in their ability to prepare my return accurately. Fortunately, I found a highly competent CPA that I am working with now and have been for several years. My new CPA even went back and found more mistakes (that I didn't know about as I'm not a CPA). I had to pay my new CPA to amend mistakes from their original work. I didn't even ask Chandler to amend the old return to fix their mistakes as did not want to have any further relationship with them as trust was gone and I moved on to another CPA who I paid to amend the return previously filed by Chandler. The people at Chandler are very nice people, but I just do not have confidence of the accuracy of my returns they prepared so I found a new CPA. I shouldn't have to have CPA knowledge to hire a CPA to complete my return. I provide my CPA with proper documentation and while I still review the return before it is submitted, I expect my CPA to prepare an accurate return. I do hope that things have changed for them as this was several years ago and hope they are doing a more thorough review of their work. I wish them the best of luck. I didn't even want to write this review as they were nice people but a friend of mine said it would be wrong not to write the review. In the end, I do hope these were just training issues that have since been resolved so this does not happen to anyone else.
