I attended class with none other than my leasing agent at the time who suggested this place...So we took the Go-Go Stiletto's class.. which is basically dress how you want.. come prepared to dance.. but.. you guessed it.. wear your stiletto's/high heels.. etc... I've never really attended a dance class before... and especially one that didn't teach you the art of a lap dance.. but it was fun.. a little intimidating and uncomfortable at times ( i mean your shakin' your stuff in front of strangers) but fun... Disclaimer: This review is only for the Kids Dance Summer Camp Program. I've taken adult classes at Dance 411 and enjoyed them very much! My two children just completed a week-long summer camp program here at Dance 411. My issues with the program were the following: 1. It seems to be run by young teenagers. 2. It was advertised to be both a dance and acting camp. My daughter's main reason for wanting to go was acting, and there was NO acting class included! 3. Apparently, there had been an issue between my eight year old son and another boy that went on the entire week. I wasn't told about it until FRIDAY, IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE KIDS PERFORMED THEIR END OF THE WEEK SHOW FOR THE PARENTS! It was literally two minutes before this performance when one of the camp instructors chose to pull both me and my child aside and tell me about this issue. My son was in tears right before his performance! The whole situation could have been handled completely differently. The camp instructors clearly needed to be more vigilant so they would have been aware of this situation and so I could have addressed it from the beginning! 4. The check-out process on the last day of camp was unorganized. They had all the kids wait in one room and all parents wait in a long line while one person was at the check-out table with the sign-in/out forms. I suggest that they divide the kids up based on the age groups (how they do anyway during the camp), and have at least 2 people with each group assisting with the check-out process. Overall, I commend Dance 411 for growing so much and for it's success, however, there is much room for improvement when it comes to the Kids Dance programs. read more

I've been going to dance 411 for about a year now and if not for my pole sisters I would quit a long time ago because the management here is awful. They do not care about anything except making a profit. We've been kicked out from dress rehearsals just because they have scheduled a private to make more money. Not only they make money on us during the shows they cannot even do the simplest in accommodating the guests who paid to get in and see us perform by making them stand up the whole show or to be forced to buy VIP seats for extra $20 per person. So get ready to be dismissed and treated like crap when sign up!i would not recommend this place to any of my friends. read more

My son has been enrolled in 2 classes here for about 5 months now. It's nothing but disorganized chaos inside this place. Never any place to park because they have like 10 parking spots for the whole studio, so they expect you to park down the street and walk your children down Moreland to get them to class! Inside there are kids running a muck all over the place. The customer service sucks. They charge your card even when its not supposed to be charged. I paid about $200 (in addition to the $85/mo) for my son to be in the recital and his "costume" is nothing but black spandex pants and top. I wish there was another dance studio in the area. I would not send your young child to Dance 411's Spring Break or Summer Camp programs. While I am sure they are all mighty fine dancers, the people running this program are not capable of providing long term childcare. I have edited this review and increased the stars from 1 to 3 on account of the fact that the studio did reach out to try to make things right in regard to our awful spring break experience. I still would not suggest the day care but my son drops in from time to time and takes dance lessons on Saturday morning. He loves the hip hop classes. read more

My daughter Breanna, had a mini dance session with some friends for her 12th birthday Fun-day, on Sunday, Oct, 22nd. She did 3 events that day and out of the 3, she loved Dance 411 the most. My daughter likes to dance when she can find the time to as she is a competitive level 7 gymnast. Went to a drop-in twerk & heels class here. It was a groupon deal but they apparently offer the class at a regular drop in rate around $20 bucks or so. The class was pretty fun but felt super short and rushed :/. There were about 30 women in a room built to fit about 12-15 so it was a little tight. I will say that the instructor was fun and encouraging but I do wish they offered a little more in these classes. Here are some tips if you're interested in visiting: 1. There was a ridiculously long wait to even check in so you'll want to arrive early- I'm talk 15-30 minutes prior. 2.Parking is non existent so don't attend alone because you'll have to park and walk from down the road 3. Have your payment or groupon immediately available- it is chaotic and the attendants don't have the time nor patience to guide you through payment forms 4. They do have a lockout policy after 15 minutes; the strictness depends on the size of the crowd which fluctuates depending on multiple events read more

I finally got around to trying one of their pole classes this weekend. They had a $5 deal, so who could resist that? The class was huge, but the teacher had it down to a science. After we warmed up (and she got us warm in about 2 minutes, I was seriously impressed), she separated us into groups, taught the choreography, and then had each group go so all of us got our time to shine on the pole. She even let us try a spin toward the end. I failed miserably, but now I have something to aspire to. I didn't feel like I was working that hard, but I was definitely sweating by the end of class. read more

I bought a Groupon with my friend for their Zumba classes. It was a great idea. It doesn't matter whether you are advanced or beginner, you will fit in. I felt great being there. Went on different days and saw two different instructors who were equally nice and encouraging. I haven't done Zumba in awhile so my coordination was a little off, but still felt awesome with the cardio workout Zumba give and all the moves that help me out with my coordination and moves. I love Dance 411! The instructors are so nice and eager to help you. I took the pole series class and I had a great time. I am doing the next level as well. They offer some really good deal on classes for not only, but your family as well. On Saturday your child can take a drop in class and get $5.00 off. Kind of hard to just say the studio is average but I have to admit there are as many pros as cons for me personally. I have enjoyed the classes and the in-town location is awesome. However, the variety and class times leave me a bit underwhelmed. Let's just put it out there - - I'm old. After working all day I need to get off work, get my workout in and be home by 7:30p. If class doesn't BEGIN until 7:30 or 8... not gonna happen. And, though the studios are cool, it's a bit tight in the common areas ... Dancers sweat. It's kind of the point of it all, let's be real, I'm not the only one who sweats - - so that little waiting area can get ripe. And the parking is less than desirable. read more

My daughter took a couple of classes at Dance 411 and I quickly began to despise this place. It's a lot of things, but I guess the main one is their crass obsession with making a buck. It's not that the classes themselves are very expensive. Instead, they will repeatedly email harass you about events, including inciting your young daughter to insist you attend. I asked to be removed from the email list because of the every other day harassment. My daughter had to pay to try out for their dance team and then they finally asked for a ridiculous sum in the multi thousands to join it. The classes themselves are ho-hum. My daughter, who is seven and a half, generally liked them, though complained that there was always a different teacher. But again, my main gripe with Dance 411 is that they are continuously yanking at the wallet of their many customers. A lot of their clientele unquestionably can't afford it and get stuck spending more money than they have and for what exactly? read more

I will admit up front that I am NOT a dancer. I am however the parent of a child who takes dance lessons. I agree somewhat with the reviewer who mentioned that it helped being an experienced dancer going in. From my limited view, I wonder if the kids are getting the individual instruction time they might need even in a class setting. The teachers usually seem rather distracted in doing their own dancing than focusing on kids who may not be "getting" the steps right. The reviewer who said the parking situation is bad was absolutely correct. It is a nightmare especially on weeknights when you're also dealing with rush hour traffic on Moreland. Then once in the small parking lot it is very cramped. My biggest knock on the studio, and I may be very naive about this, is that they seem to turn everything into a money grab. My daughter has taken some basic ballet classes before (at other places) and periodically there would be a recital and the families come and it's a nice event to watch the class dance (for free). Dance 411 takes what I can only guess is ALL their kids classes, crams all the recitals into 2 hours on one day and then charges you $15 per ticket (though each family gets 1 free ticket) for the privilege of being able to see the results of the money and time you've already spent on the classes. All this crammed in to about 3 minutes (if that) for your child's class to be on stage. So to have the grandparents come, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. will cost you about the same as a Disney vacation. Again, maybe this is common practice, but it seems ludicrous to pay for the lessons and classes (which aren't exactly cheap) then have to pay for the recital. Just doesn't seem very family friendly to me. Perhaps the should consider building in the profit they want to make from the recital into the class costs then let families come for free to the recital. They make their money, families don't notice much per class cost difference, and they get the good will and feeling from their customers. The other money grab I've experienced was the father/daughter dance. 2 hours at the studio with some light hors d'oeurves and some uninspired DJ'ing ran about $22. During this 2 hours, they stopped the activities to put on a dance performance from some older kids for about 20 minutes or so. So we didn't even get the actual 2 hours of dancing. I believe they are going to have a mother/son dance too, but can assume it will be the same deal. On a positive note, the teachers really are good dancers, and I understand that they are starting to overcome some frequent turnover in staff. The studio also has free wi-fi for parents who want to wait for class to be over, though I wish they had some method to allow parents to watch the entire class instead of having the blinds closed. One way mirror perhaps could be added. I can't really tell you about the quality of instruction only what my experience has been as a parent of a student. read more

Staff are unprofessional. The kids building needs a whole makeover. There's never any seating. Last two times I came I had to sit on the floor. Usually when I bring my son the parents are allowed to come back the last 15mins of class. This visit they said no parents allowed today. For reference, I'm a 45-year old Mom who has never, ever, not once attempted to do hip hop dancing of any variety. Ever. Just took the hip hop fitness class and loved it. It was the Thursday class at 11:00 - there were six students and the instructor made us all feel totes comfortable and encouraged us all to be ourselves and do what our bodies wanted/could do. I danced my bootie off and had fun doing it. I was initially hesitant to take a class because of my age and complete lack of skill, rhythm, and other things that seemed necessary. Nope - it was awesome. Completely comfortable and inviting. I mean, everything hurts and I need to take a nap now, but I will certainly be back! Thank you! read more

The Teachers are excellent. However I cant say the same for the Admin. Staff. My 3 y.o. child was in the Winter showcase, and parents were not allowed back stage. Not only did they loose Her personal belongings, and never responded to me, but they also charged me several months after we dis-enrolled her. Lastly, they reported me to credit bureau once I disputed charges for time she did NOT attend. I DO NOT recommend Dance 411 due to its poor Customer Service and Business practice! read more

I absolutely love my twerk fit class. I purchased the groupon initially and attended my four classes. I just finished my last groupon class and plan to keep going. I absolutely love this Dance Studio. My daughter has been there for most of the summer, believe she only missed the first week and the week of the 4th, and has truly enjoyed her experience. I especially love the performance at the end of each week showcasing the kids hard work. I believe there is room for improvement here: check out process on performance day needs to be more streamlined and handled by more than 1 person and all camp instructors/aides/counselors need to be well aware of any issues that arise during camp hours and follow protocol for such situations. I had a voucher to try out four of their sensual dance classes. You sign up online for a class so you don't want to wait too late- classes can fill up. The parking here sucks. They have just a small parking lot which fills up. There are multiple classes going on at the same time and students are still in the earlier class by the time you arrive for the next class. This complicates the matter. There is not enough seating to wait for your class. This is partially because there are parents (and siblings) waiting for their children. Classes started late! That's a no-no in my book. The pole dancing class does not have enough poles for everyone and 2-3 people have to share a pole. If I am in class- I expect to be participating the whole time. Not standing against a wall waiting for my turn. So I do not recommend this class. The positives are that the instructors are nice and the routines are fairly easy to learn and then reproduce later. read more

I am not a fan! I've gone to other pole dance classes in the city and this was my least favorite. The class is short for what you pay for. I felt rushed. The instructor was cool, but I just felt like I should have gotten more out of it. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. My 2 star is for my overall experience not necessarily the class itself. When we arrived, no one greeted us or asked if we needed help. I wasn't sure what to do so we just all sat down since no one was behind the counter. We were there for about 10 minutes before someone asked us for help. I was shocked that the lady in the lobby talking to her friends (or whomever) worked there. I thought she was a customer also. I was a little disappointed that we still had to pay for the women who didn't show up. Oh well, lesson learned. I won't return. read more

My child took hip hop classes at another studio, and we were referred to Dance 411. I took the recommendation and enrolled her in a hip hop class there. After several months of driving from Marietta to the studio for classes, I decided that my child was not learning anything more than what she could learn at a studio much closer. I was disappointed because I feel she didn't get the quality training and technique that was promised. I was aware of there being a 60 day cancellation policy, so I cancelled in what I believed was a timely manner. Evidently, I only gave a 58 day notice, so I was charged another full month. I could not believe that instead of communicating with me about the 2 day difference, they ignored good customer service and refused to back down on the charge. I sent several emails, all in vain, and even suggested that if they were so rigid with the 60 day policy, could they please work with me and possibly prorate the charge, as a means to compromise. They flatly refused. I requested the owner's contact information, as I was not receiving any relief, nor did I feel I was being heard. I was sent an email denying the contact information, because the assistant artistic director felt, in her words, that the complaint was not valid because it did not involve a staff error. I have also tried calling the front desk over a 3 week period, but am not able to speak to anyone unless I am signing up for a class. This experience could have been avoided if the staff members involved cared more about the customer and the reputation of the brand over a 2 day miscalculation and a month's revenue. Not only will I never return, I will be sure to tell people with whom I am in contact with, personally and professionally, the way I was treated and how this business is run, where dollars are more important than the customers that spend it. read more

I attend the Zumba classes here which are totally awesome. The PRO's are: the staff is very nice and it's a great location. Also, look on Groupon as they always offer great discounts on the classes there. They offer a variety of classes for adults and children and are even open on Sunday I believe. The CON's ... I wish that they had a bigger "dance" floor to accommodate the number of people that show up on a Monday night! The other CON which I think is a huge safety issue is getting out of their parking lot is a nightmare. They should have a sign that states you are only able to turn right. I have witnessed two accidents right in front of my eyes and it was awful. I would think after the first one, that something would have been done. They are been there for 5+ years and not sure why they haven't expanded their parking lot. They have made arrangements with the chicken place next door and the church across the street for cars to park there and not get towed. read more

I, and three other of my girlfriends, went to Atlanta for Spring Break and luckily for us, stumbled upon a groupon promotion for Dance 411 Studios' pole dancing class. The coupon was for a drop-in PHAT Pole Dancing class for $15. The class was superb. We were improperly dressed for the most part but that didn't affect our performance or learning. Pole dancing is such a flexible art that our attire didn't matter. Nutcracker was our teacher. My gosh, she is dances effortlessly. There was no sign of anguish or confusion on her face like the rest of. She was also very patient and worked with every student, which is important so that nobody feels left behind. We also presented what we learned in groups and to different songs. The class was a buildup class, so everything that we learned from the beginning helped with the subsequent moves. My favorite move was the dollar tree because it's a classy way to pick up your money; that move and another move of which I'm forgetting its name. You use the pole to support your weight and kick your legs into a v-shape in the air. I was so proud when I finally got it and was able to replicate the move. I would definitely recommend the class to anyone. Contrary to popular belief, it's a workout and you have fun too. Oh, and it's also for all levels. read more

My beautiful 8 yr old daughter "Cali" is a phenomenal future olympic California gymnast and instead of spending her summer with more gymnastic training, I decided to push the envelope and challenge her to increase her rhythm with hip hop dance moves, to have summer fun and to expand her comfort zone. Well, with tears in my eyes and my video camera rolling every minute during the Friday's afternoon performances, I observed her dance skill and talent progressed magnanimously. She went from the back of the class to featured rolls, incorporating a little gymnastic tumbling of course. My talented daughter made me help her practice every evening by our pool, because she wanted to show the Dance 411 staff that she knew her routine. After dinner entertainment was her doing back flips in the living room, now its the "Na-Na." Thank you, Director Samara Michelle and Staff; Cali and I (Sekou) can't wait until next summer. read more
