Working with Brandee was a phenomenal experience. My partner and I took six lessons with her to prepare for our wedding first dance to "Best of Me" by Anthony Hamilton. After a phone conversation and encouraging me to send her YouTube videos of dancing that I liked, Brandee met with us and started to teach us a dance that incorporated bachata, two-step, and salsa elements. She also took into account the videos I sent her and taught us how to do one of the moves in it I really liked! We learned several different simple turns (for me and for my partner), a dip, a fun "swivel," as well as two more complex moves part of larger combinations that we decided to do during the two choruses of the song. We wanted to feel relaxed and mostly improvisational during our dance, so Brandee helped us make a general game plan that we could improvise around. We learned so much during our 6 lessons -- it felt like we never did the same move twice throughout the song. Working with Brandee was also absolutely invaluable during a stressful time of wedding planning. We always left Brandee's studio with a smile and feeling newly enthusiastic, even when we had gone in feeling tired. If it weren't for Brandee Selck and for fitting us in to her schedule the weekend before our wedding for a 1-hour crash course, we would have performed the most uncoordinated laughable first dance in history.
