The building is clean and crisp throughout. Beautifully decorated. The room is spacious. And that jetted tub soothes away achy traveling muscles. Next, the big comfy bed swallows you up into a cocoon of comfort. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was simple but delicious. An unexpected highlight was the TLC and attention to detail provided to the guest by the incomparable Jody. She's phenomenal. I had the immediate sense of her kindness and compassion. This was a late check-in and I found I needed to unwind from the road. No way I could sleep. Yet. So we chatted just a bit. It was like one of those 'seeing an old friend and catching up' moments. People just actually listening. Two-way. I picked this hotel on the fly. Spontaneously. Something I LOVE to do! The reviews were rated with some pretty complimentary praise so it was a real easy pick. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!

This is our 2nd weekend to stay at this lovely cottage (used to be a barn) which has wonderful sleeping accommodations for many people. It's like a large studio with a kitchen, desk, dining area, bathroom, living room and bedroom. There's a TV with Direct TV, a stereo system, a bookshelf with books, DVD's and CD's. If there are more than 2 people staying, the owners add a twin bed. There's also a futon and a sofa sleeper for 1. In speaking with the owner, she really wanted to make this place as comfortable as can be and has added many amenities to make your stay comfortable. The refrigerator has jam, butter, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, granola, orange juice to get your morning started. She also provides guests with bread or muffins in the morning. Of course there is coffee or tea ready to brew. When you wake up in the morning, you open up the blinds to a beautiful yard which you can wander around and enjoy the arbor swing. I wish I had discovered this place sooner because it's a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

While essentially a single space, it is nicely divided into a separate bedroom area, a roomy living area and a comfortable kitchen. A large bathroom and a second bedroom complete the layout. The entire cottage is nicely decorated and is also very neat and clean. Both the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped and user friendly. A variety of snacks are provided. What also makes The Barn special is that it is definitely dog friendly. We always bring our small dog with us and he seems to enjoy the experience as much as we do. There is a basket of dog toys near the front door, dog treats are provided and two dog bowls are located in the kitchen area. Thus, both human and canine guests are warmly welcomed! Not only is the cottage itself a wonderful retreat but it is located on a beautiful piece of property that is very nicely landscaped and easily accessed. A well constructed concrete walk leads directly from the parking area to the front door. At the rear of the house, a sliding glass door opens onto the large backyard which slopes gently down to a beautiful meadow. Guests are invited to walk the property and we are always happy to do so. Despite the bucolic atmosphere, The Barn is very conveniently located. It is within a couple of miles of downtown Lewisburg, Bucknell University and a variety of stores and restaurants. Finally, the the owners, Tanya and Fred, are friendly, accommodating and clearly committed to providing their guests with a wonderful experience. I can honestly say that we've thoroughly enjoyed each visit and always look forward to our next stay. I wholeheartedly recommend The Barn at Pheasant Ridge to anyone visiting the Lewisburg area. The center is spacious, and the building and facilities are kept in good condition. When it's a good day out, there's a beautiful view during the day. There's enough parking for the crowds that come in, and usually at least one staffer and one clean up person working here during the day. There is PA memorabilia hanging in one section of the building, and places to sit giving it a homey feel. This center is nice enough that it's even worth making the U-Turn if you're going Northbound on US-15 instead, although I think stopping at a fast food place or such will do for 99% of people just fine.

Don't worry, you won't need to use chamber pots here!).   One of the advantages of staying here, rather than staying in a traditional hotel, is that staying in Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast is itself a great experience.  If you're a history lover like myself, you will feel like it's the late 1800s while you stay in your room.  Usually when I travel, I try to stay outside as much as possible since there is nothing worth doing in the hotel.  At Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast, however, I felt that simply sitting in my room was itself a memorable experience.  That's how beautiful the Victorian elegance of the rooms are.  Adding to all this is the owner herself, Barbara.  Her friendly and warm personality immediately made me feel welcome in this beautiful home.   She was very accommodating to any request I had.   Over breakfast, we even had an interesting conversation about Lock Haven's history.  Her kind and welcoming personality made my over all experience at Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast even better than what I expected.  If you ever come to Lock Haven, don't bother with the traditional hotels.  Instead, travel back in time and immerse yourself in Lock Haven's history by booking a stay at Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast. As sometimes can be the case, finding a place to stay can be tough. This time it was impossible with a swim meet and weddings in town. I stumbled across The Stained Glass Inn while searching the web. Reserved a 3 night stay and hoped for the best. It was perfect. This old historic home is beautiful and decorated with gorgeous antiques. The architecture and history of this town is fascinating. Our host, Chuck, was so accommodating and added to the charm of this endearing small town Americana experience. Sunbury has an actual downtown area with a beautiful park and springtime flowers were everywhere. Dinner at the Chestnut Street Inn was an unexpected surprise. We were welcomed like locals to this casual eatery that served up a downright gourmet meal for $12. The lobster & shrimp cakes dinner was out of this world. What The Stained Glass Inn is not? A fancy, stuffy B&B with everything new and sparkling. It is not large, only 3 rooms. It is not a sleepy town, the train goes through and logging trucks pass by on trips to the mill. It is not a town of quaint little shops to spend too much money on touristy trinkets. It appears to be a town with a struggling economy filled with hard working good people. In a nutshell, we loved it. We will go back in the future. No more hotels for us. Oh, and I forgot to mention one thing. Chuck takes orders for & prepares individual breakfast menus. The accommodations couldn't have been any better if I had made reservations. While I retrieved my bags from the car (I had suspected that I might not be able to make it home that day), Chuck, one of the owners, tidied up my room. Chuck then gave me a tour of the second floor where I would be staying. The decor had a homey but modern sensibility. My room was well-appointed and included a gas fireplace, plenty of towels and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast the following morning was filling and delicious. On leaving, Chuck carried my suitcase to my car. I had to walk across the street to make an appointment and he actually stayed to clean the snow off my car and brought the keys to me when he was done...above and beyond the call of duty! I highly recommend the Stained Glass Inn and plan on staying there more often.

About to depart this wonderful B&B, but wanted to take few minutes to give them an overdue review…read more I've stayed in four of the five guest rooms over at least eight different stays and can't recommend the Copper Beech highly enough. Owners Linda and Bill have created a lovely and calming atmosphere throughout this historic home. Classic and uncluttered, all the rooms are spotlessly clean and appointed with comfortable beds and well chosen simple decor. Certainly not the stereotypical lace, floral wallpapered and wall-to-wall dusty antique kind of B&B. Breakfast is always delicious, as are the frequent evening cookies left on the entry table for guests to enjoy at the end if the day. Will continue to make this our home-away-from-home when visiting our Bucknell student.

Bill and Linda were extremely welcoming and friendly. The home itself is beautiful and meticulously furnished. After a day of work-related travel, coming back to soft music, a glass of sherry, and chocolates was probably among the nicest travel experiences I've had. If you're curious about the history of the home, the rooms also feature a picture book with facts about the home and pictures of all the guest rooms. I enjoyed reading it over while having a glass of tea from the Keurig in the upstairs hallway. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip through Pennsylvania... and next time I might stay longer!
