Our suite was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and very cozy. Detailed instructions throughout ensured we didn't have any frustrations operating doors, locks, coffee makers or heaters! Breakfast in the large, beautifully appointed dining room was absolutely amazing and featured home-made beer bread, specialty omelets, exquisite baked goods, and a variety of coffees and teas. The owner, Allison, and her staff, Kristy, were attentive, informative, and genuinely nice people who engaged us in conversation. Our suite, tastefully decorated in eclectic furniture, had two bedrooms with very comfortable mattresses, a long, carpeted hallway and a vintage-tiled bathroom. Our stay was restful and stressless in the quiet, homey atmosphere of this bed and breakfast that combines features of a B&B from earlier eras with the modern conveniences of an Air BnB. We will stay here again for sure.

Her hospitality is top notch. We've stayed with her a few times and always choose the top floor "Maids Quarters". It a step back in time and enjoy it very much. It does sit on the main road but Allison has thought of that with a cool sound machine to take to you the beach while you slumber. Comes with everything you'll need with some special extras. The made to order breakfast is fantastic. This last visit I had carmalized french toast with perfect bacon and a sweet fruit cup. It was wonderfully delish! Day before perfect executed poached eggs on homemade wheat beer bread toast. The combination was so so good. We will return again and maybe try one of the other quaint cozy rooms.

Reynolds Mansion - This was our room! I believe it was called Louisa's cherub room there were little angel accents around and the bed was gorgeously made.

The room, Carriage House Suite #2(?) was huge and beautifully arranged, with beautiful furniture and all the amenities of home. You can tell that real thought and care went into every detail at the Mansion B&B and the Carriage House suites. As a bonus, the entire mansion was decorated beautifully for Christmas, which made it even more magical. What really made our visit exceptional was the warm hospitality from Jessica and her family. A team who run the property. Shortly after we settled in, they have a Happy Hour and also offered small bites and homemade treats. We were also lucky enough to get a tour of the other rooms in the mansion that weren't yet occupied - each one is uniquely themed, and we're looking forward to our return visit to experience Jessica's superb service and offerings! These thoughtful touches portray the level of care and hospitality that sets the Reynolds Mansion apart. The Reynolds Mansion perfectly balances historic charm with comfort and exceptional personal service. We highly recommend this gem in Bellefonte and can't wait to come back! Our daughter graduates from PSU end of the year, I hope to reserve the entire facility for our family n friends who travel to the graduation.

Roasted duck entree was delicious. Well made cocktails and a decent wine list was a plus.Downside were the beds, literally straw mattress, when you laid down you'd sink to the center, not at all supportive, you would spend the morning of the next day trying to get the aches to go away. But for $40 you got your lodging, dinner & breakfast. Granted that was 45 years ago. CR inn was 10 miles off the closest paved road (Rt. 287 Williamsport to Wellsboro) and last 5 miles was gravel. The CR inn parking area is right next to the train tracks that serve upstate coal mines. The train came through at 3:30 AM and shakes you awake. That was nightly. Later the rails were taken up & I believe it's a hiking trail now. Wellsboro is the county seat & charming with is stately homes & gas lit streets. Nearby is the grand canyon of Pennsylvania. At least 3 state parks merged together. A ride through the inn's road system yielded another gem- the "Blackforest Inn at the Top of Slate Run" .a gigantic log cabin (new at the time) with a fieldstone fireplace that ate up 6 foot logs.comfy sofas & chairs formed a casual cocktail nook. Pretty good food there + they had clear birch beer on tap. Adjoins a mountain top airport. Pleasant memories for me. If you are going to Wellsboro I suggest the Penn Wells hotell (6 floors) city owned & operated, great weekend brunch with a unique cozy bar. Don't stay on the 2nd floor over the bar like I did.
