It's a standout destination for budget seasonal stuff: costumes, part supplies, decorations etc. And they also have plenty of other stuff, Cheapo tools, economical stationary, low cost-luggage... Tends to have lower prices than Cheap as Chips downstairs, so check this place first.

I have actually found things for less here than at the closely located Cheap As Chips, which is pretty much directly (underneath) next door. If that's even possible! Their competitively cheap prices came as a slight surprise because the store lacks the "Walmart Syndrome"- a reference that makes greater sense for those of you who watch South Park. It is slightly refreshing not to shop somewhere that is a massive chain with bulk-like slim prices! Underdogs all the way. Oh yeah, expect anything and everything in here. I can't say it's a great bargain store, the range of goods isn't spectacular, but it's thorough - the store isn't particularly big, but there is plenty of convenient parking close to it as it's down the far end of the shopping centre itself. I've been there quite a few times - it's fairly close to home at a centre the family and I frequent, and it's a good fallback when the kids are desperate to burn some pocket money, or you have those everyday needs that you can save some money by using a bargain stores products.

It is also quite small in size, but that's ok. I must admit I found the lack of service strange. The store was small and so we were constantly in each other's faces, and I wasn't even given any eye contact. In terms of apparel, there was nothing too flash in here, although you could probably do better in the mens department over the women's. I do however quite like Calvin Klein underwear, that sort of thing is a classic.

It's got a little bit of everything in here and a good place to buy bins, cat and dog toys, baskets and all sorts of other incidentals. Out the front is an array of items and they're keen on stocking fake flowers but it's not the designer type, more like the ones some nationalities like to place on grave sites. Also a few dog plastic dog kennels and no different to the kennels stocked by some other stores at much higher prices. The lady behind the counter is nice and friendly and has been each time I've been in the store and the store itself has been located here for a while. As the name implies it is a cheap store but with some useful finds.

It's a big shop filled with various under garments and what caught my eye was the A frame signage on the footpath. Turns out they specialise in breast prosthesis (any reversals?), surgical bras, surgical corsets, back support, binders and corsets, etc but there's so much more to this shop. The lady I was speaking to was lovely and we chatted about other subjects apart from lingerie which is nice to get a relaxed staff / customer rapport. She is very passionate about her domain and can advise on anything you specifically need for your body shape and needs. The shop manages to soften its' interior with two beautiful large black chandelier inspired decorative lights. The shop is well lit and well organised, there is also a small dress up section if you know what I mean, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. But sometimes the line does become blurred when it comes to lingerie doesn't it. Where else is there to go? So, if ever you're in need of have a specialised fitment of the prosthetic or support aid, this is definitely the place to go to for help.

I'd been wearing terrible bras for years being too lazy/a bit embarrassed to get properly fitted. The proprietor (I assume) Enza had me measured and trying on a perfectly-fitted bra within about two minutes. Then she kept me supplied with about a dozen different brands and styles to try on to make sure I had the best one possible. The shop seems to have a big range despite the small shopfront, and brilliant friendly service. Highly recommended!

I frequent quite a few bargain stores, you hafta love somewhere you can wander around and come out with a handful of junk you almost need in return for the handful of loose change you had in your pocket at the time - the really nice thing about Spend-A-Penny is that you'll sometimes find stuff that you DO need, you just didn't know about. Case in point, it was here I found one of the most useful objects I have in my kitchen - a shot glass with graduated measurements all around the sides, for ml's, teaspoons, tablespoons, ounces, etc - it is absolutely invaluable when cooking, and it cost me two bucks... *win* They also showed some initiative over the Christmas period, having signs up to advise people they were open from 9am-12pm on Christmas day. I don't know how that went for them, but I did make a mental note in case I needed a tray for the webber or any other potentially disasterous situation popped up on the day. Could also have been handy for someone who REALLY likes leaving the Christmas shopping till the last minute. :)

They usually always have some sort of moving toy or one of those hampster things somewhere near the front of the shop. They have some great novelty t-shirts on racks out the front. I have managed to get some really nice, and quite cheap, gift packs for things like 40th's from here. They do sell smokes as well but their novelty and gift range is what really makes them worth going to rather than just getting smokes from the supermarket. They also have a great online web store now as well so check out some of their items. Once I got my kids potato guns here and they all got a gun and a potato for Xmas and we went to the park and had a ball for ages until we had to go home to get more potatoes...........and maybe clean off some of the starch!

Cheap to get in and the entry is well and truly covered by the savings. I especially like to go here when it's fruit season for peaches, apricots, plums and the likes that are more seasonal and usually a lot more expensive. Heapos cheaper to buy them from here. Better still get a few of you together and buy big 10 or 20kg bags then split them up. Works out even cheaper again. There's always some regulars that go and sell tools, bikes, games, clothing, sunglasses, dvd's, electrical and then all the people that just go to get rid of a whole heaps of stuff. You have to go here to sell at least once just for the experience though. You get there when it is still pitch black. You can't see what you are doing and Asians are almost climbing in your car with their torches to see what you have. If you take anything fantastic it will probably be unloaded for you, if you get my drift. So get in early for the best bargains and coolest stuff. And as Chloe said take your cash, no eftpos machines here. And I recommend you barter or haggle for anything and everything. People are there because they want to sell this stuff and it's their trash, get the best deal you can. Big Tip: much easier to just go for street parking on Main North or preferably Port Wakefield Roads. If you get parking inside it is way too hard to get out once it's packed with patrons!

One section is of fruit and veg and the other section is the where second hand gear is sold. The good thing about the Gepps Cross Market is that there's a lot of home sellers there rather than dealers. Going to markets is so satisfying I can't even begin to tell you the positives. I'm 17 and have been doing it all my life. At the market I have brought clothes ranging from $1 to $5. I will only spend $5 to $10 dollars on something if I love it to bits. I have brought the school bag I currently have for $1 and it was practically brand new and was used once, it's sitting along side of me as I type this. There's a lady at the market that goes there and sells all her fancy clothes for $3 to $5 if I see something I like I buy from her. Don't bother paying 30 dollars for purses, you can buy them for under $5. Basically, there's everything at the market, from fancy shoes to fridge markets. Honestly, give it a go and if you don't like it then that's okay but if you do then that is fantastic. Going to markets has helped mum and I save so much money. If you're a buyer the market opens at 7am and closes at 2pm If you want to go to Gepps Cross as a seller BEWARE! Heaps of people like to haggle but please don't get offended, it's nothing personal.
