We had billing problems straight away, and I have never found Kathy to be a very friendly or helpful person to deal with. I have been moving all of our insurance from State Farm to various "other" insurance companies over the last decade or so. Saving a lot of money in the process. We moved all but our daughters life insurance (we were locked into that one.) As our daughter was closing in on her 26th birthday, and was in no position to take over the policy, we requested that Kathy insure that the policy stay with us. She "looked it over", and assured us that it would stay in our names. Well, guess what? She failed to "look closely enough", and the policy was automatically moved into our daughters name. Even though we contacted her well in advance, and were assured "it would stay set up with us". When we got a letter telling us that it was automatically moved, we were told, "well that is what you set up back in 2012". Even though we JUST spoke to her, and were assured that it wouldn't be transferred. She just kept repeating "that is what was on the paperwork you signed in 2012". Apparently not even acknowledging that we JUST requested something else, and SHE indicated that it was good to go. I would have expected here to let us know if there was a paperwork change being needed. But, nope. Oh well. We now have to jump through hoops, because she dropped the ball. Just sorry I couldn't convince my wife to dump Joel Alba State Farm a couple of decades earlier.
