My daughter was scheduled for an appointment. She suffered a seizure that day. The office called around or about 2-3 weeks later to inform me that she owed a $50 no show fee, I explained her medical condition and what happened and requested a reasonable accommodation to wave any and all fees. We recently received a letter from a collection agency whom Skin win sold the "debt" to. My daughter is person with a medical disability and has no control when she will have a seizure, so for them to do this is very sad. I will be contacting their corporate office and perhaps the ADA for the denial of the accommodation. read more

I'm writing this review about the care of my sister received from Skin Win Office and Dr. Daniel Hoffman. I went with her on 5/21 to the Williston office for the Mohs procedure on her left lower leg. She ended up with a large hole and 6 inch incision. I being a RN for 40 years stayed with her throughout the procedure including suturing. He did a running stitch on the outside of the 6 inch incision and sutures interior before. The sutures were to be removed 10-14 days. They were removed on 6/4. Incision opened within 24 hours. She called the office the next 2 days with no response. The Website said the office was open on Friday 6/7 so she and her husband drove 70 miles to the office to find that it was Closed! They then went to an urgent care. They told her, the wound could not be Re-sutured. She was devastated. She's normally a very active normal person. MANY calls were made the following week, with NO response. Finally a nurse called 2 weeks LATER and wanted my sister to send pictures via email, which she did. I believe Dr. Hoffman is a Butcher and the office is very discerning and unprofessional. They overbook, charge the patient and that's ALL they care about! No follow up care for a procedure this Large. I would NEVER recommend this Place!! read more

I went to this dermatologist office for a couple months now. Our appointments are always 2-5 minutes long, only met Dr. Hoffman only about 2 times in the last couple appointments I have. We always have a problem either they moved offices without telling us, didn't give my prescription to the CVS, or I sometimes have an uncomfortable experiences there. read more

They gave us a good faith estimate before our appointment which I paid in full. It was a basic checkup and lasted about 10 minutes. The doctor was very rude. Now I'm getting billed for more than the good faith estimate with no explanation why, and the billing lady yelled at me over the phone about it. I've asked for them to explain the additional charges and they haven't. It's a nightmare.... And we're not even using the medicine the doctor prescribed because he over prescribed way too much. Please, read my Google review. It's very involved and very not good. I know wait times on new referrals are long, but it's 100% worth the longer wait and just having your PCP do maintenance care in the meantime. Turns out my PCP was more knowledgeable and took more time to discuss my condition anyway. read more

Patients, word of advice: make sure your check your bill!! While the doctor visit itself was fine--holy smokes, did they CHARGE!! Almost $600 for ONE visit--where the doctor was in the room for a total of 10 minutes, and only prescribed an RX. While I feel like the doctor did his job, I'll go through a minute clinic or online solution first before going back. Even through insurance I am on the hook for almost $300 because of the way they "coded" the visit with "two separate" procedures. A complete scam and abuse. Ultimately this is on par for many of the doctors and health care facilities in the area. Hopefully when a bigger health care provider moves in, this will change. Until then..... UPDATE: So, my bill was $700!!! Just got another bill for an additional $23, which of course I'm on the hook for. I spoke with the staff--who advised they were unsure of the prices for services. I asked how a 10-15 minute visit could cost $700, and she was unsure. I definitely will not go back. read more

This office is a joke. Very unprofessional. My son was seen for a different issue but Dr Hoffman found something minor and took care of it before we could consent. got a huge bill I asked to be reviewed as we did not ask for this service. Was promised several call back. Never got one. Was told it would be reviewed and held back from collections. Misty promised me a call back. never got one. was sent to collections. I had no idea as I was waiting on the promised called back from Misty. called and got Haley she was incredibly rude and told me there was no supervisor I could talk to. I paid it and plan on filing complaints theu my insurance and the attorney general. asked her supervisor to call me back. never did but got a call over a week later asking me to pay it as it was in collections. told the gal it better not be as it was paid the week before and asked for her name and she hung up on me. this practice is a joke!!! I am so frustrated. I never leave reviews like this but I feel like this business is not being honest with people! I had a fine experience with the dermatologist and got my medication many years ago. This business is somehow scamming people and getting away with it. They made me wait 40 minutes and then when I did see the doctor I was treated incredibly disrespectful. But on top of that, my friend also went there and they're billing her for things that didn't even happen. Now I'm worried I'll get billed additional amounts just for leaving this review. I took my Dad in as a new patient for an ongoing painful skin issue on his scalp. The doctor and nurse were friendly and appointment went well. They did a culture on an incision he had on his head from having skin cancer removed. We never heard back about results. A week later, I called nurse with questions about a salve the Dr. prescribed for Dad. I also asked about results of culture. I never got a call back until 3 more days later, which was 10 days after initial appointment. Nurse said he had a staff infection and he would be given an antibiotic. We are now 22 days after appointment and never got my question answered or called about where we can get the antibiotic! To top it off the VA was charged $489 for that first appointment! When I called to get an itemized bill, no one was able to explain why he was charged that amount. Very poor customer service and communication. read more

If I could mark less I would. My dr has sent 2 referrals. I've called multiple times..I left messages to get a return call, or the line disconnects me. This has been going on over 3 weeks now. I'll take this as a sign of the level of quality they provide. read more

As for the Minot location... The whole experience was just 10/10. Both receptionist were kind and helpful. As new patient the check in process was a breeze. My nurse Haley was outstanding and Dr. Hoffman was incredibly professional, informative and made me feel %100 comfortable. So happy I don't have to drive to Bismarck anymore for a good Dermatologist. This entire office/team is fantastic. Having found Skin Win Dermatology and Dr. Hoffman I don't completely dread my once a year appointments anymore. Thanks for a great experience guys! read more

The doctor is a " butcher". He told me there would be little to no scare after my procedure on my face. I clearly have a scare. My sister had a similar procedure done by the other doctor at the practice. Also on her face and and 3 weeks later you can't even tell she had a procedure done. Then to top it off my credit card was charged without me even realizing it would be. There was a form I signed that was also a Hippa form. So they hid it on this Hippa form so that they could essentially take my money from me. Instead of mailing out a bill like a normal practice would! The doctor was pleasant and the nurse seemed like an air head. She could not seem to get my lab work orders correct. She ordered a panel that the lab told me that doesn't exist. I was told she was an LPN. But is she? What kind of LPN doesn't know how to order labs? When I asked her questions about the medication I was prescribed she did not know the answers. No way she could actually be a nurse. After being lied to several times, not getting the correct lab orders sent in still to this date( a month later) and being charged incorrectly I won't be back. read more

My Uncle is 74 and cannot write legibly due to hand tremors associated with Parkinson'. He went in for his appointment last week and there was paperwork to be filled out and he asked them if he could tell them the info and they could write it down and he would sign it. They refused to help him fill out the paperwork. He raised his voice and said what the hell and the "doctor" told the secretaries to call the cops. Really ? I wasn't there so I don't know how bad he was but .. and I'll say this ...why couldn't they help him fill out the paperwork or send the paperwork prior so someone else could help him. It's customer service people .. I will tell everyone I know not to use their services and so will my husband and my uncle. They could easily have stopped the situation before it started. read more

I LOVE this practice. I've been to the office in both Williston and Minot and had a great experience. Dr. Hoffman took his time and didn't rush thru the visit. No idea why others are complaining. I had to sign in a bunch of places giving permission for my credit card to be charged for the balance. No surprises here. My father is 81 and didn't want to leave a card and they said no problem. I had a 90 min wait for my appointment in a very unbusy appearing clinic. I was surprised at their practice of demanding a credit card to be left on file; perhaps pushing the boundaries of legal practice and absolutely beyond good sense from the card holder's perspective. Absolutely horrible. Two different medications, last one was with a severe side effect. Called first thing in the morning, but they didn't call back til end of business the first day. The next day, the nurses phone calls were questioning what the med was, but was always told they would talk to the doctor and call back. This has happened for 3 days. Each time I was asked what medication i was taking, and they couldn't remember the side effects that I was having after being told every phone conversation. Have not heard from the doctor at all, and keep getting told that they will discuss with him and let me know. No answers, my primary physician discontinued the medication, as Dr. Hoffman has not had time to call back, or answer any phone calls. read more

My husband and I saw Dr. Hoffman this past July and to my surprise I happened to look online at my checking acct ( Oct) and a debit for $400 was listed from Skin Win. I did not realize that we had signed a form( which also had HIPPA info on it) for them to keep our debit card info ,which we used for payment that day, was kept on file. I called and left a msg and 2 days later I received a call back and told them that #1 we had never received a bill stating that we owed them anything and #2 I was surprised to see that charge on my debit card. I told them I did NOT want my checking acct# info in their system at all. They mailed a form for us to sign so they would take our info out but I also had to agree to pay any future bills within 30 days or be turned over to a collection agency. I almost feel like I was bullied by that. Dr. Hoffman/nurses were professional and we had a comprehensive exam done, but I feel he needs to do some revamping of the system he has in place in his billing dept. read more
