Apache Solutions is by far the best training facility and people in NC. Their staff is first rate,…read moretheir facility is nice and they offer a wide variety of classes for every skill level. They offer classes in pistol, shotgun and rifle. Their Responsibly Armed Citizen Program is top notch if you are interested in becoming a competent concealed carrier. They also have several guest instructors throughout the year that are nationally recognized. You are missing out if you have not trained here.

We completed our concealed carry course with Apache Solutions on a Saturday (8:30 am - 6 pm). Prior to the class, we received information describing the class, test, and needed materials. The classroom portion of the course took place in an air conditioned building (gym attached to a church). Due to COVID-19, they request that participants complete an additional waiver. The gym was large enough that we could maintain social distance. The classroom portion was engaging, informative, and time managed well with several short breaks and a longer lunch break A book is provided to follow along with the slides. If you plan to keep the book, it's $6. The book is helpful, but complicated. Tim Kelly explained the information clearly so it was easy to understand and relate to potential scenarios. He led us through examples and highly encouraged questions. He maintained a welcoming, well planned environment conducive to learning and effective instruction. During the class, a representative from US Law Shield came to talk to us about laws, representation, and insurance. As the classroom portion ended, we completed the written assessment. The test was straightforward since the information was presented well. After the test, we took a lunch break and met at a different location for the shooting portion. It was certainly hot (end of June, midday), so plan accordingly for the weather. They had a shelter, tents, chairs, and tables set up so there was a place to set our gear and ample shade and seating. Before starting the shooting portion, Tim Kelly clearly walked us through the rules and what to expect. I liked how he included the protocol for what to do in an emergency. Even though the concealed carry course does not teach how to shoot a handgun (as expected), the class still covered proper grip, gun safety, gun etiquette, loading, and unloading. After practicing proper grip and gun etiquette, in three heats we completed the shooting test. The courses are well staffed and controlled. They consistently maintained a safe environment throughout the course. Knowledgeable, helpful employees were always around to provide assistance and answer questions. More material was covered after the test before receiving our certificates. We would highly recommend Apache Solutions to others and look forward to taking more courses with them.

I can't say enough about Wes Reese and the North Carolina Concealed Carry certification course…read moreoffered through Reese Firearms. Being both a veteran and someone that had previously gone through concealed carry certification in another state, you can imagine how excited I was NOT to sit through more fairly basic-level training. I couldn't have been more wrong. Wes is one of the most knowledgeable individuals you will ever meet when it comes to firearms and the relevant NC laws. Additionally, he makes some otherwise dry material interesting and funny, and is very engaging with the class. The videos Wes used to supplement the material were mostly funny, but were very relevant to the subject matter and the humor just made the material all the more memorable. Pizza lunch was delivered by Pizza Hut at 11:15 and Wes just kept rolling through the material while we ate. Shortly after lunch, a guest speaker from US Defense Shield spoke to the class about carrying legal protection in the event you ever find yourself in a self-defense situation, firearm or not, and how you plan to defend yourself criminally and civilly after the fact (because you will have to regardless of what happened, and how). Once again, very thought provoking, and not something most folks consider. The classroom portion is located in Kernersville and the range is in Thomasville, approximately 25-30 minutes away with light traffic. I didn't realize this until I received the confirmation e-mail after I registered, but it wasn't a big deal for me. If that matters to you, don't forget to plan ahead. Range qualification was quick and efficient and the class was dismissed from the range while anyone that wanted to stick around to shoot Wes's arsenal was welcomed. Either way, you leave the range that day with your certificate in hand, ready to join the world as the next concealed carriers (as soon as your local Sheriff approves your application). If you live in or anywhere remotely near the Triad Area, and are considering concealed carry training, there's just no better option than Wes Reese and Reese Firearms.

It is my true belief that this business of operations is a gem to North Carolina and the local communities in which it serves. Recently I had family in from work and on vacation to celebrate my upcoming wedding. The staff is very welcoming to me and my clients on a regular basis. However, I wanted to make special mention to Paul who made me feel and look good for my family and clients who came in for me that night. My brother in-law who is with the Winston Salem PD and my other Brother who is with SF were able to enjoy the company of the family while being in a safe facility that offered excellent customer service. Paul in trusted me to make sure things were operated properly and has always brought a special element with his interactions with me at ProShots. It is with great confidence that I operate and work with my clients & friends at ProShots and I look forward to working with and hanging out with people like Paul, Ben, Richard, Jeff, Ron, & the rest of the staff who has always been excellent guides with the firearm industry and education for the best interest of the law abiding citizens of our communities. When you walk in, you will hear "you're being recorded " which was awkward. The first time I heard it, I missed what it said. The second time, I heard it clearly and it was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, no one can say they didn't know. Richard was the instructor during the 4hr course on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. I enjoyed it and it was very informative. Richard gave a comedic twist, which definitely helped make time go by quicker. The best part was the gun rage at the end. It was a large class of 17. The range took a while. I did great for 10 shots total: 5 with a a revolver, which was my first time shooting one. The other 5 from a semi automatic pistol; I own one but haven't even practiced in at least a year and a half. While there, I did browse their available guns. I did end up buying a pack of 9mm bullets for $21. The female staff member who assisted me was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I would definitely return!
