I'm not a big fan of taking prescription drugs because of their side effects (can't think clearly and I really hate nausea) or over-the-counter drugs, which aren't effective in relieving my pain. I have to admit that I had a headache at the start of my visit and it actually got worse by the end of the treatment. I don't think it was the acupuncture that was doing it, I think it was because of how I had positioned my head and fallen asleep on the table. I was tempted to take some prescription meds to make it go away but I wanted to see if acupuncture was effective. I pushed through it, and I'm glad I did because it started to get better on its own. The beautiful thing is that I haven't had a headache for the past week now. I can get them every other day, sometimes more with stress, and now it's such a relief. I plan on going on a regular basis now to keep these headaches in check. The person who treated me was Hugh, and I highly recommend him as a practitioner. You can tell from talking with him how passionate he is about Oriental medicine and how much time he spends learning about it. He has bookshelves of material in the treatment room, and I encourage you to ask him about it, he's quite happy to talk about what he's studying right.

I paid in cash and left approximately a 17% tip. After seeing the amount, the employee made many comments such, "that's it?" "oh no no" and demanded that I needed to leave more and insisted on a 20% tip. I ended up adding a few extra dollars because the interaction made me extremely uncomfortable. I found this especially disappointing because making comments about a customer's tip amount is EXTREMELY inappropriate and unprofessional. Tipping should remain voluntary. My body was sore and hurting prior to coming in. (My fault really for walking all over Salem). It's in an older looking shopping plaza. When you walk up on it looks way to dark to be open. They are open till 9 pm. Nice relaxing music to relax your mind. You sit on a little ottoman thingy and soak your feet. They will wipe your feet off and then you will turn around to lay down. I only did a 30 min sesh but I could have laid there for an hour.
