They are Canadian, based out of Montreal, and they do not use leather or any other animal-based materials in their designs. I have been oggling 2 backpack-style purses that I saw at select Chapters stores, and that's how I discovered them. They manufacture what seems to be quality items that look like leather. Hopefully they also last as long or longer, considering the prices of their wares. All the backpack-style purses that I like just happen to be $150.00 or more. I like that they are Canadian; I like that they are vegan (if that can be applied to clothing?); and I like their store in the Rideau centre. It's so hard to see all this in December! So I tried to return it but shipping back to Canada was too expensive. My item was shipped from NY USA, but they wanted it sent BACK to Canada which I found lame. Anyway, nice product, quality & shipping time, just don't love their return policy. I know a lot more about buying leather now & would still consider a purchase from them again down the road.
