Barn weddings and banquet halls are the rage around here and nothing felt right for us. Then I found a new (recently renovated) venue called Lake Michigan Gardens. We were sold. We did the vows outside with the pond, flowers, arbors, and space for guests to roam was lovely. The dining area is spacious and you can set it up how you prefer. The bar area is really great and us girls had fun in the brides room getting ready. Kristy, the event coordinator, is down to earth and so helpful and we just knew it was the spot for us. I think we may be the first wedding they have had, but I guarentee it will not be their last. They will work with you on vendors and your thoughts and wants. Weddings are crazy, but ours went smoothly and it had a lot to do with Lake Michigan Gardens. I highly recommend checking out this lovely spot. All of my family and friends had nothing but high praises for the venue and a beautiful day there.

The ground are lovely. Grass is well kept, gazebo sets at the edge of a well kept pond and the parking is sufficient. The handicap accessability is seriously lacking. For ANYONE with physical limitations, including the use of cane, walker, wheelchair, or who has limited mobility but drives themselves, it's miserable. The hill from the parking lot to the entrance is very steep. The interior is quaint and the staff is courteous. The room (s) are adequate and have a beautiful view. The food is sub-par (at best). We tasted it prior to the wedding and were assured the poor quality then was not representative of the food served at events - yet, it absolutely was. At 20+/plate I would expect far greater than what was served. There was not one entre sample worth eating, which was quite unfortunate. For those interested in The Silo, I strongly recommend eliminating dinner as it's a waste of money. Be aware, NO FOOD is allowed unless it was prepared there. This is a true shame as the Grill House always has excellent food.

I contacted them via IG and then communicated through email after booking. Jenn was so easy to work with and made it so easy. We literally just had to show up! Our setup was stunning! No detail went unnoticed. I opted for a charcuterie board and it was so good - a little sweaty by the time we got there but all good. They had sparkling waters on ice for us, too. The location of our setup was perfect for sunset and just hanging out. The weather could not have been better! The beach was not crazy busy and no one paid us much attention. From the very first contact with Nichole, she expressed nothing but positivity and flexibility, and we knew we had made the correct choice to go with her. We didn't book weeks/months in advance, and she didn't have any online availability. I took a chance and reached out to her, letting her know the dates we'd be in town if she by chance had a cancellation, because we loved her portfolio. We were absolutely ecstatic when she was able to squeeze us in for a golden hour session. We ended up having a snafu on our end (vacation brain) with the appointment and despite squeezing us in already, she worked around our blunder. And she did so without admonishing us or making the session feel rushed. She was incredibly patient with our daughter, made her feel at ease, and she exuded nothing but confidence in her photography abilities. The timeline on our online gallery was as promised and the photos turned out wonderful. We had a hard time narrowing the selections down to the package size we ordered, which was a good problem to have. In fact, we had such a hard time that in the middle of downloading our last few photos, on the last day the gallery link was active, we fell victim to a time zone mishap. It was midnight in South Haven but only 11 in St. Louis. We thought we had another hour, but alas the gallery link "expired" before we could finish. I emailed Nichole right away and by the following morning, the link was reactivated and we were able to finish the download. So, please - if you take nothing else from this review, use Gulotta Imagery for your photography needs, you WILL NOT be disappointed (extra points for being better clients than we were though). Thank you Nichole for capturing that moment in time for our beautiful daughter!
