Came across a couple of horseback riding places. That's been on my bucket list but leaped up a few spots after seeing the movie, Nope, lol. The other horse back riding spot was closer to my mama's home and cheaper but South Side Riders is Black-owned and operated so, no contest! I scheduled a ride for me and mama. The day we were scheduled to ride, it rained. We'd gotten a call from SSR to let us know that our ride would be rescheduled because of the inclement weather. Do you know what the lady said? She said, it's raining, it makes the trail slippery, "and the horses don't like it." That's bringing me to tears now as it did then! That told me so much about these beautiful people running this place. They put the horses first!!!!! They put the horses concerns first!!! I fell in LOVE with South Side Riders when she said that! A couple of days later, we'd arrived at SSR for our trail ride. We were greeted by the beautiful couple who runs the place. The vibe was cool, friendly and they put my mom and I, who have no experience riding horses, very much at ease. I saw the horses and got giddy. They're all so beautiful, calm and sweet and you can tell they're well taken care of. The two horses that my mother and I rode seemed to have a bond. It was precious watching them interact. This was my first time on a horse. They provided a step ladder to help me get up. I appreciated that. Before hitting the actual trail, they let us go around in the enclosed area where we mounted the horses. They gave us driving instructions... That's what it felt like, a driving lesson, lol. How to steer right, left, stop, go.... All very necessary and appreciated. They made sure moms and I were comfortable before we got started. The trail ride itself was so lovely. I was nervous but that didn't last long. Before I knew it, I was relaxed and wishing I was rich so I could stay and ride all day. I talk to animals like they're human, so at one point, I'm thanking the horse for taking it easy with me as it's my first time riding. And he neighs. Like, he understood every word I'd said, and he responded. A similar interaction was probably the inspiration for the TV show, Mr. Ed. So now we're having a full-on conversation and...just thinking about it is making my heart smile. Again. When the ride was over, I skipped my giddy, animal loving self over to the petting zoo while moms waited in the car. I didn't wanna leave! The babies are so cute and sweet. The donkeys...what's their I.Q.? I'm asking because they seem quite intelligent. Whenever I visit moms, I will definitely stop by South Side for a trail ride!

Great park to play Tennis or baseball, has walking loop and play on a play ground. Sunshine Leagues play here. Bathrooms aren't the best, but they are available. Most of the times they are locked. Tennis courts are pretty nice. Plenty of free parking available. Facility is well maintained free of dogs and traffic. Richard Craig Park is about 39+ acres of green space with tennis courts, a playground, a pavilion and lighted baseball diamonds. Richard Craig Park's name was formally changed from South Cedar Park in 2003 to honor Mr. Craig. Mr. Craig served as chairman of the Recreation board as well as playing, coaching and umpiring ball in Henry County. Mr. Craig also played a part in the First Sunshine League Field for handicapped athletes. Facility features 39 Acres, Sunshine Field, 8 Lighted Baseball Fields, Pavilion and 16 lighted Tennis courts. They also have couple of nice and clean long picnic tables with the shades on the top. If you are in the area please do check it out.

This is has to be hands down the one that has the most Club feel.... Country clubs have golf and tennis... Advocates of both of those sports that have a lot of leisure time on their hands can spend the whole day at the club.... That's exactly what you sense at Let's Go Pickleball. But it is so well organized and designed that that is not. It's only attraction.... It's a terrific place to go and make new friends because they have a natural order of being able to show up and playing around robin or in a pickup game. So if you're looking for a home away from home For recreation, or wanting to just stay fit with a game and know you can always find someone to play with... And do it in surroundings that are bright and engaging. And with terrific air system always keeping it at a comfortable temperature, and also always smelling fresh. They host special events (fundraisers, competitions, clubs) fairly regularly and with the addition of the hot new sport Padl, it's a great place to engage with others. They have a store with all your basic supplies and fashion items for playing pickleball Pickleball has always been a top sport in the PTC and then all at once there were new free courts and two new businesses vying for memberships... I have visited this range a couple of times with my gun club. It is an outdoor range. I had not…read morevisited an outdoor range in a very long time. The range has several bays for use. I have not toured the entire range so I can only speak for the area I have visited. I used Bay #1 both times I went. The range is setback off of the road. It is however, easy to find. There are clean restrooms available as well. There are membership opportunities, if interested.

I've shot in various bays on the backside of the property. I've always felt as safe as a person can feel at a gun range, and I appreciate how well kept the grounds are. I think an outside range feels safer than an indoor range in general. Also, having a variety of set ups available for shooting is fantastic. As long as you adhere to the rules, you can set up almost any course of fire you want. I've always had a positive shooting experience at South River but I wouldn't become a member for many reasons. It's really far from my house. Also, I'm not sure how comfortable they are with Black people. I've visited many times since that first time and sometimes it's uncomfortable the way they watch us. And it's an expensive membership for my level of usage. But if all of the above weren't present, I'd be a regular at South River. Yelp #24 2022
