I scheduled for Rekey service as part of the AHS insurance policy but they charged me extra for $60 bucks with the excuse of some labor charges and lock pickpick. I inqu about this from other services and was told that they shouldn't have charged extra apart from the service fee which was already paid. I would not recommend their service. read more

I called your tech who changed out our locks last week and explained that one of the locks will accept the key - but keeps spinning and cannot lock it.... he came back out after several days only to do nothing but explain it is the lock design and it is performing as installed by him a few days earlier. I'd give it zero stars if possible. Shady, unethical, sloppy. Broke our locks. Had to come back to fix it and they rekeyed one side of the doors requiring two different keys--one to open on the inside and one for exterior. Got them through AHS. I just got a new house and they tried to assign me the same company and I said no way. Still waiting to see what AHS will do. Cant get a hold of them. Number on invoice was not Dan's shop. Difficult to get scheduled. No sense of urgency. Didn't have the necessary tools to change all of our door locks and was not fully educated on how they work, which was really odd. Left with the new lock sticking and told us we simply had to "work it" for a while to loosen it up. Would not recommend and it was a waste of our money. Unethical practices in Austin. I was assigned Dan's from my home warranty company to rekey the garage and rear door locks to match my front door. I got a call where the technician said he could come by in 30mins, and sure enough he made it. However, Dan's technician refused to work on my locks with anyone around. He stated that he will only work unsupervised and no one is allowed to watch him work. He then attempted to charge me $60 to observe. When I refused, he packed up his tools without completing any work, and left. As soon as he got back to his truck, he promptly marked the job as complete and I got billed $75 by my home warranty company with no work performed. When I contacted Dan's, they said they would get back to me and never called again. Sketchy business by these guys. read more

I was able to do all the scheduling via text message which is extremely convenient for me. My rating would have been a 5-star, but my locksmith was running way behind. After 35 minutes past the appointment time, I called him & left a message. An hour and 15 minutes past the appointment time he called and apologized and said he was on his way. About 45 minutes he arrived and explained that he takes many jobs in many areas. However, once there, he was personable, polite, and efficiently changed my locks & gave me 4 new keys. Except for being so late, he did a great job. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars for the zero service i got from these guys. My home warranty plan called this incompetent company out and they might as well have called no one. A tech came and told me that he didn't have the parts for my door locks-fine. They never reached back to me, never returned emails, calls, or any communications from American Home Shield. Finally a month and a half later after being contacted by AHS, they emailed me saying that they can't get the parts from my door manufacturer and that they're closing my service request. Thanks for making me wait almost 2 months for nothing with no communication whatsoever. read more
