Unfortunately we had a horrible experience with the service tech and Dan. I had 5 locks that needed to be rekeyed alike. The tech said it would take 30 mins to do each lock and that they don't do that anymore as they take too long. I thought a service paid was service done but unfortunately Dan is more concerned with the quantity of locks he can turn and not the quality. Might look for another company. We have notified our Home Warranty company and they may be selecting another company to service their clients. read more

If you can get them to actually come to your house and do the work then maybe they would do something worth rating beyond 1 star, but if you are assigned their tech Jason I wouldn't hold out much hope in finding out. They deserve less than that, but it is not possible to give negative stars. Over two weeks since I've paid for rekeying through my home warranty service and it has still not been done. Utter waste of time and money, find a different company and avoid the frustration and lack of customer service I've had to deal with. read more

Terrible in responding to request for service...said they would notify me within 24 hours, and it was actually 5 days later, after I CALLED and requested an appt. An email later said it was scheduled, and I HAD TO CALL AGAIN and find out when it was. They said I would hear from the tech that day, and it was actually the next. The tech came eventually and damaged one of my deadbolts. I called to report it this morning and was told that I would have to file another claim with my home warranty service to get someone out to look at it...to be paid again for damage done, I assume. If you want it done in a time frame that is professional and accurate, go elsewhere. read more

I was very busy and wasn't always responsive, but Tiffany followed up numerous times (which I really appreciated) to schedule something. My tech Nick was also very friendly, offered great advice on how to manage locks that weren't covered, and was super efficient. read more

I called your tech who changed out our locks last week and explained that one of the locks will accept the key - but keeps spinning and cannot lock it.... he came back out after several days only to do nothing but explain it is the lock design and it is performing as installed by him a few days earlier. Than tells me it is a $35.00 service charge To come out and do nothing . I already spent 175.00 with your company last week. He simply could of told me this over phone when I called him about it... read more

I scheduled for Rekey service as part of the AHS insurance policy but they charged me extra for $60 bucks with the excuse of some labor charges and lock pickpick. I inqu about this from other services and was told that they shouldn't have charged extra apart from the service fee which was already paid. I would not recommend their service. read more

I'd give it zero stars if possible. Shady, unethical, sloppy. Broke our locks. Had to come back to fix it and they rekeyed one side of the doors requiring two different keys--one to open on the inside and one for exterior. Got them through AHS. I just got a new house and they tried to assign me the same company and I said no way. Still waiting to see what AHS will do. Cant get a hold of them. Number on invoice was not Dan's shop. Difficult to get scheduled. No sense of urgency. Didn't have the necessary tools to change all of our door locks and was not fully educated on how they work, which was really odd. Left with the new lock sticking and told us we simply had to "work it" for a while to loosen it up. Would not recommend and it was a waste of our money. We have scheduled a second locksmith to come out and finish the job. read more

Unethical practices in Austin. I was assigned Dan's from my home warranty company to rekey the garage and rear door locks to match my front door. I got a call where the technician said he could come by in 30mins, and sure enough he made it. However, Dan's technician refused to work on my locks with anyone around. He stated that he will only work unsupervised and no one is allowed to watch him work. He then attempted to charge me $60 to observe. When I refused, he packed up his tools without completing any work, and left. As soon as he got back to his truck, he promptly marked the job as complete and I got billed $75 by my home warranty company with no work performed. When I contacted Dan's, they said they would get back to me and never called again. Sketchy business by these guys. read more
