I'm pretty decent, but super out of practice. Hubby on the other hand, grew up in a community straight out of the movie Footloose- ultra conservative Christian with no TV, no music, no dancing. He was permitted to play drums in symphony, but that was the limit of his musical upbringing, and he's NEVER been a dancer. That is changing. My fat ass needs to get back into shape and he needs to improve his cardio function. I HATE going to the gym and dance is my favorite form of exercise, so I purchased an introductory Groupon that includes 3 private lessons 1 group lesson and 1 dance party. We had our first lesson yesterday, and I have to give props to our instructor, Stas, who is also the owner. He sits down with you first to talk about how they run things, what you can expect, and to discover why you're there and what your goals are. He taught us basic dance steps, then taught us the basic merengue and salsa steps with a couple of turns. I was very impressed with his teaching style and look forward to many more lessons - and hope to instill a love of dance in hubby.
