In our opinion the owner and directors are not mature enough to run a business which watches children. This review is to re-enforce the other heartbreaking stories already posted here. This program is not one we can recommend to anyone. We were at the location on 130 Flandreau. We are first time parents and joined due to the good marketing/branding and the environment we saw on the tour. However, It seems that the pandemic has transformed this business. They have cut many of the programs they offer supposedly "due to covid" but in our opinion it is clearly it is to cut costs and see windfall profits. The owner Brianna is no longer involved with day to day management/operation of the NY location, although she still seems to enforces policies regarding staff communications or communicates covid rule compliance. We found it odd when we called her or emailed her and she never responded. In our opinion, we experienced some significant supervision issues with the number of staff (2) for the number of children. With a 6:1 ratio of kids/teacher the ratio is on the high end. By comparison other similarly priced daycares offer a 4:1 ratio. Our kid regularly complained about hitting/kicking etc from the other children, sometimes came home with bruises, etc. We understand that kids are kids, but, it was often an effort to get them to tell us what was going on, and more often than not the line from teachers or the director "that never happened." or "they are unaware of what caused this." These were the minor issues. When we attempted to raise the more serious issues with the staff/directory they were dismissive of our concerns. Early on we had to regularly remind them to send photos, or document what our child ate, or if she used the potty. It is as if we had to train the staff in what they told us they would do. This is all frustrating, especially considering the dramatically above average cost. Amazingly, things went south when we attended a birthday party (at someones house) were we met a few of the other parents for the first time. We were surprised at how many other parents were also frustrated with similar issues and it seemed (in our opinion) our concerns were not so out of the blue. We were asked by other parents about our next year plans, and shared we would attend a different Pre-K program next year to get a different experience. Apparently one of the parents shared this with the staff and within the week were asked to leave. We were informed via an email from Brianna the owner at 830PM on a Thursday. It simply said that the next day would be our daughters last. This was the first & only time we would ever have any form of communication with her as customers of her business. This was obviously (in our opinion) shocking and unexpected and when we replied asking to talk it out/get clarification/be offered a reasonable notice period (a week? a month?) We received, what was in our opinion, a long combative response, where were told we had a "nasty attitude" and that "There is nothing further to discuss." We feel this behavior is negligent in someone that you rely on for childcare. (What is if is impossible to arrange proper care for your child on such short notice?) We waited a long time to post this in order to gain some distance and perspective on the issue. We ended up putting our daughter into a nearby school, where it turns out the teachers/staff/director/owners are loving and caring. We know this because by comparison to Nurtury, we have met them all on multiple occasions. The community is free to speak openly on any issues, and does so. We engage with other parents regularly and the tone is far more positive. We haven't looked back (except to warn you wayward parents to stay away)! Addendum: Finally, it is to our surprise that as of the time of writing this review, we can no longer find a reference to this school Nutury Montessori @ 130 Flandreau Ave New Rochelle as a registered daycare on the OFCS website (https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/childcare/looking/). We did find however a current enforcement action against there Larchmont location, which appears to have 11 violations in the last year, where of note, all violations were corrected except two, one of which is: 418-1.13(a)(1) Staff and volunteers must be mature, of good character and possess suitable personal qualifications. I watched each child be greeted with kind-hearted attention by the front office staff. The ceremony was nothing short of amazing, a beautiful tear jerker and humbling experience to see all of these wonderfully made children set & achieve their own uniquely individual goals. The mayor of the city (Yonkers) took time out of his day, attended and presented the graduates with their diplomas. Very well put together program and a moving experience for all. Congrats graduates and excellent job to the staff.

I visited the school and I was excited because the school was in a good building and it had everything that my son needed. When my son first started he was supposed to have a 1 on 1 aid and when I checked in a few times he didn't , it took the school some time but they finally hired a local young lady to work with him with in a few weeks even though they knew months in advance that he was starting. My biggest disappointment was my son coming home filthy with dried up food on his face that had probably been there since lunch that no one bothered to wipe off and stained clothing. How embarrassing and disappointing to have to take him off the school bus that way in the afternoon. I complained to my school district but nothing changed even though the school got the complaint. I just couldn't comprehend why if they hired an aid for him and him only why couldn't she take care of one child, why did he have to look like no one cared about him. If I could have pulled him out of the school and kept him home I would have. My sons aid or teacher hardly ever wrote in his communication book that I sent with him daily unless there was something that they needed or they thought he wasn't feeling well. He did one year there and I couldn't wait to get him out of that school. I won't be bias, I talked to another parent that I know that sends her daughter there and she was happy so everyone's experience is different. What I would say to any parent with special needs children, if you're unhappy with a program, find another program that you're happy with.

She proceeded to do my shampoo and she was great and then they used a basic salon conditioner as a "deep condition" as it smelled like cherries which is a dead giveaway and I had been informed that the conditioner was of a higher quality but it was not... she then placed me under the dryer for 15 mins and then removed the leave in and took me to her work area to do my rollers... she was about to put the rollers in without putting anything at all in my hair until I asked her about it and she went and got someone bc she didn't understand me... finally after her struggling to put one roller, another student came and helped her... she seemed to know what she was doing but the rollers were not tight and they were spritzing the hair with lottabody setting spray but the hair wasn't soaked which it needs to be when applying rollers... finally she finishes and puts the net and they try to fit me under a dryer that fits the rollers... 1.5 hours later ... im told they're done ans they take them out... the hair is not set at all and looks crazy when all the rollers are taken out... I tell them that I'm not at all happy about this and I finally settle for a blow dry by the one student who did my rollers... she seemed to know how to do a blow dry but then there was another student working on the other side of my head who was only blowing out mid shaft to the tips and never at the root so all of my hair was lumpy on the while right side when they tried to say okay you're done... not until I was like ummm, my whole right side of my head is all lumps and kinks so the girl blew it out... 4 HOURS LATER and there was not one teacher or professional helping these girls out or knew what to do... the older lady just kept saying well shee doesn't want to stay or there is nothing we can do about it... mot an apology, nothing... just a shoulder shrug, like oh well... Wow! Horrible experience and location... these girls are getting robbed because that's not a school where they're not leaning anything... The older folks need to have a better bedside manner to thise coming and spending their money here l, especially of you're charging $60 for no one knowing what they're doing. Our experience at Friends couldn't have been more wonderful. All of the teachers are kind, warm and nurturing. It's like handing your kids over to family. The 2's program is the perfect introduction to school for toddlers, the 3's is a great continuation of all the social and life skills being taught, and the 4's curriculum emphasizes preparing for kindergarten in an organic and age-appropriate way. In addition, because the school is so small, there's a real sense of community among the parents. We've made lifelong friends at Friends - the school really lives up to its name!
