For those not familiar with the area, here's the deal about this mall. Danville used to big a major textile city since the Dan River flows right through the center of town. When those went bust loooong ago, the city went downhill. This is the only mall in the area, and when you have a population without a lot of money, you get stores, or a lack thereof, to match. Well, there were 4 anchor stores here: Belks, Sears, JC Penny, and Dunhams Spirts. Sears and JC penny are gone. The "food court" has a Chinese food place and a cookie place. Elsewhere, there's a Chick-fil-A and a pretzel joint. The majority of the stores are gone. However, the mall is not run down or dirty. It's clean, well lit, and inviting. With the new Cesar's casino in Danville, expect some major changes to happen to this mall. read more

Danville Mall has got to be the smallest mall I've been in. Being that it was almost empty, there were a LOT of parking spaces available. Came in here on a weekday and I can count the people that were shopping. People also come here to walk for exercise. They have the right idea. No people to bump into and disrupt your exercise! Lol The number of places to eat is very limited. By that I mean there's only 4. I'm okay with that, because all I want's Cinnamon pretzel bites at Monk's. The girl behind the register greeted us immediately plus there's no line! There's a department store (Belk) . They didn't have a huge selection. So, I didn't find what I was looking for. The prices seemed to be less than Belk's in big cities, which is nice! Hopefully, vendors will start coming in soon in anticipation of Caesars Virginia's opening in 2024. My husband and I talked about going here to start walking when weather's bad. read more

I absolutely love shopping at the Danville Mall. It's not something I have time for every day, but I really enjoy it. The walkways are very spacious, and even the stairs/escalators are spacious for anyone with strollers, carts, walkers, etc. My sister and I did some Christmas shopping at the mall this year, and even though I've been here many times I was surprised by how quickly we got through three stores and got our pretzel bites from Monk's. My favorite parts of our mall are the Hallmark Store and Monk's Pretzels. I miss the shoe store and J.C. Penney's, but at least we still have two shoe stores in town (just no longer inside the mall). read more

Fourth time coming to this mall & the restroom not having soap for the ladies. It's a shame to not have soap available in the restrooms especially all throughout a pandemic. Makes you wonder if the food associates are even washing their hands. There's no excuse in the world for not having soap smh read more

We ain't never getting older! This mall has stood the test of time. Now, I remember Monk's since it was Katie's pretzels - and Dunham's when it was Boscov's. I've been around the block a few times and can confirm there is no street parking but a large (and I mean large) parking lot with ample parking. After a cold day it is nice to step out of the parking lot and into the mall where you will be greeted kindly with samples, smells, and sights "galore!" Its not as big of a mall as im use too. Pretty much your average mall. Not many speciality stores like Lush. You won't see any of those mini stand stores in the middle of the mall. It looks pretty empty there, wish they had a sitting area , as it looks like a waste of space. The food court is basicly all of 4 choices, and very small. Carpet in the mall is odd. The layout is good just would like more variety of stores esp. being out if town. I would think most malls would have a souvenir shop. Although i really like the photographs that show the history of Danville on the wall. I think thats a great idea that other malls could do.. read more

They have done a good job of not making the mall feel empty. Malls are struggling in general but this one still feels vibrant. A few good food choices are available(japanese, chinese, Chik Fil A, and pizza). a number of the anchor stores and sporting goods stores are still open. It's not a bad place to hang out. read more

The mall. I remember the mall. It used to have a book store, where I eventually became one of its best customers and most frequent visitant. There used to be a toy store, as well, from which many of my childhood toys were purchased. Also, there used to be a pet store with very colorful and conversational parrot that used to chatter at people on a regular basis. In the center of the mall, a fountain once gushed water upwards the glass domed ceiling like a whale in the ocean, whilst on both ends of the mall on the ground floor, coin ponds once dwelt, holding onto people's many wishes and dreams beneath the surface of their clear water. The ponds are gone. The pet store is now a clothing store; the same can be said of the toy store. The book store is now a hall way. A shoe store resides where I used to buy music, as well. This is not the mall that I grew up with, as a teenager and young adult. The elevator that I must have ridden inside hundreds of times is gone over to a little hidden corner of the food court, and the escalators are over at the food court. Piedmont Mall is now Danville Mall, with Danville history covering its walls in order to catch the interests of its patrons, who are a dwindling lot. I used to go to the mall at least once a week, but now the mall is lucky if I patronize it once every few months. I spent my time as a teenager at that mall, but presently teens can no longer hang out there without an adult to accompany them. There are only about two or three benches on each floor when there used to be an entire sitting area on the ground floor for people to sit at. You're average American Mall with anchor store regulars like Belk and Sears, a small food court, and a mix of clothing, cell phone, sports wear and specialty shops. It seems about 50% of the spaces are empty though. The inside is very attractive with old photos of Danville historical places blown up as wall decorations. The floor is carpeted strangely enough, don't think I've been in mall with carpet instead of tile floors, but I liked walking on it over the tile for sure. read more

I've been going here since I was a kid and this mall has changed a lot since then. They got rid of many stores so there are a lot of empty spaces. But besides that it's a decent mall. read more
