I have been stable on my course of treatment for 3 years, but wanted more options as far as a Dr…read moreadvocating for my insurance to give me more PT, look into surgery at this point since injections failed, etc. So they had initially lied when I made my first appt, then when I get to my appt they say they can only do an epidural, okay well I've done 2 injections already with no results, so I asked what other options, and they said there aren't any other than making me stop my medication cold turkey? Uh, no thanks? I work full time in the medical field, and without my meds I can't work because I can't walk or sit for extended periods of time without 8/10 pain. So I say yeah, no thanks, I am not interested in that and you should have told me before this appt, and I left before they've even reviewed my medical chart, diagnostics, or past treatment. I left of my own free will because they have pain pumps and surgery options listed all over the walls but refuse to offer that, refused to interact with my insurance for additional physical therapy and chiro care, etc. so if you can't do anything to help my pain, I'm not interested in being a patient. They then send me a letter that I'm being "released" from a contract I NEVER SIGNED, for "being disruptive." You have never treated me before, this was my first appointment, I have no contract with you. Interesting how I literally told them after the initial appointment I am not interested in being a patient and they try to cover their butts by making up lies. They did no testing or anything, so I will also be filing complaint with my insurance if they try to charge them for services not provided and my insurance has already had it with pain doctors filing false insurance claims, so they have already told me they will take legal action.

At this point, Ephraim McDowell feels less like a healthcare network and more like a place you end…read moreup because you have no other choice. It's the medical equivalent of being shoved into a van, blindfolded, and dropped off at whatever location happens to be open. You don't come here because you trust them--you come here because the alternative is bleeding out in a ditch. Take my experiences. I walked in with a gunshot wound to the hand, and somehow the grand medical conclusion was Flexeril, Tylenol, and a $3,000 bill. Danville's staff has a couple of competent people buried in the chaos, but most of what you deal with feels like confusion wrapped in a scrubs uniform. Then there's Harrodsburg. After getting AC compressor lubricant blasted into my eyes, I got redirected to Lexington like a piece of lost mail. And once I got there? The doctor basically told me I wasted my time, shrugged, and sent me home at 2 a.m. with nothing but more questions and less trust. No explanation. No reasoning. Just a pat on the back and the door. Every visit feels like you've stumbled into their system and can't get out until someone finally decides you're allowed to leave. Communication is scattered, urgency is optional, and half the time you're wondering who--if anyone--is actually steering the ship. But hey, this place is better than dying with no treatment in the middle of a field somewhere. I guess.
