She is so sweet, personable and patient - which I really appreciated as my children had a couple meltdowns from the snow. I just can't say enough great things about Darcy Kiefel! I was so happy and honored that Darcy was able to photograph my son, Zac, for his senior photos. I didn't just want a photo... It was very important for me to capture Zac's love of Colorado, the outdoors, his dog and his heart. We so much enjoyed our Boulder Save the Date Session with Darcy and were so so pleased with the photos we received! I can't express more how easy it was to work with Darcy. I worked on logistics and planning with Darcy for over a year and from the very beginning, she answered her phone, returned emails and would answer with precise answers whenever a question arose. Her rates are more than fair and her photos are fantastic. Our extended family of 33, including 19 kids under 10, were enjoying a vacation in Winter Park at Snow Mountain Ranch. I arranged for Darcy Kiefel Photography to take family photos. 19 kiddos running around and 14 parents all with their own ideas, opinions, special requests....not an easy task for anybody. Darcy stayed cool, collected, and managed the situation as well as could have been expected. While it would have been a good idea to have an assistant for a family our size, the lack of an assistant went almost unnoticed because of Darcy's ability to direct and manage the family. Darcy Kiefel is a fantastic wedding photographer. There are lots of photographers who can take great shots of you and your partner and you and your family and of your centerpieces and your rings, but what sets Darcy apart is the way that she is able to capture the moments of love and laughter that happen throughout the day. She can read people and she senses when emotions are bubbling to the surface so that she can capture the perfect shot of you laughing with your husband, crying during the toasts, and celebrating with your family. Darcy shot my wedding in July 2012 and her price point was extremely competitive. It was wonderful that for the same price that other photographers may provide only four hours of service, she was able to be at the wedding all day -- from the make-up and hair in the morning through the dancing with glowsticks at the end of the night, to the pedicab that escorted us from the party and to our hotel. It also allowed for pictures at two venues -- the hotel in downtown where we were getting ready and the park where we got married. Darcy's packages also allow you to have two shooters (which is definitely recommended because there are so many great moments and people to capture). We got nearly 1000 pictures from Darcy and her team from the wedding. We also were able to do an engagement and "trash the dress" session with her. The engagement session allowed us to learn her style, which was great. The "trash the dress" session did not actually trash the dress, but did allow us to get some great pictures at chautauqua. A recommendation for the "trash the dress session" -- although you are done with all the big planning for the wedding, still make sure to get your hair and perhaps make-up done ahead of the shoot. Four stars only because I am a terribly tough grader, and also because Darcy prefers communicating by phone (great if that is your style), but it was sometimes tough because I was planning the wedding from a different timezone and during a very busy work schedule. Despite her preference for the phone though, she would email when necessary, so it all worked out. When I was looking into wedding photographers, I often found myself wanting to see a WHOLE wedding, as one event, so that I could see how the photographer captured the whole thing. Darcy is amazing. She made our day unbelievably special. Her heart is as big as all outdoors and you feel like the most beautiful, important people she has ever photographed. We were renewing our vows.
