First, he was available on a HOLIDAY! Responded promptly & professionally. Super convenient as I had the day off & another home consultation scheduled for later in the afternoon. I had a small handful of tasks needing help/attention. He was prompt to respond & offered his rates/terms up front, no hassle & extremely easy to schedule with. While I did have materials on hand, he suggested they wouldn't be as sufficient in the long term, so I genuinely appreciated he came to inspect & then went to purchase any additional materials based on the consultation. ...and from there, I let him do his art! The entirety wasn't a big ask- 3 smaller tasks of replacing a closet dowel hanger, placing patio string lights & mounting a tapestry quilt. The biggest caveat of this was the kitchen pantry storage cabinet American Furniture delivered, needing assembly. I already knew this would not be possible for me to maneuver, solo. And, I am SO glad I decided to seek a professional to construct this because it took him a good minute! Even better, he went above & beyond to anchor this piece to the wall, seeing it was not fully sturdy due to the tile flooring pattern. He communicated arrival ahead. Had literally ALL of the supplies & materials needed on hand outside of what needed to be included in the consult. He worked independently & extremely quiet (aside from the necessary power tools)- I barely noticed! ...and absolutely acknowledged my senior kitty who curiously wanted to "supervise". The job did take a bit longer than anticipated, but that was due to the beast of pantry cabinet assembly. I am SO happy with the services & I feel like the hourly rate/pricing is definitely on par for the quality & expertise provided. And, he took diligence to haul any scraps/waste out to the dumpster- leaving literally no trace behind. It was very convenient paying via Zelle transfer. Cash is also accepted, cards have a 3% fee. I would highly recommend, and will be bookmarking to save this in my collection because I will most certainly seek Luis for any future handyman services. Daniel recommended modifying the existing bathtub so that my mom could step in and out more easily, while also adding sturdy support bars to help with her balance and safety. We couldn't be happier with the results! The modification has made such a difference. My mom can still step into the tub, which actually helps her maintain and practice her balance, but it is now much easier for her to get in and out. I hired Joey to install doors and baseboards at a new construction job site. He did great at…read moreinstalling the doors. I had Joey measure the doors and the baseboard to ensure he had everything he needed. There was a bathroom door that he said was the wrong size and that he couldn't install. However, I was able to hire someone else to install this exact door. When it came to the baseboards, you could tell he was not experienced in this area. He is unable to make cuts for inner corners and instead smashed the two pieces of baseboards together and had them overlap each other. When I asked him to correct this, he refused to do so and said that is how baseboards are installed and he's never had an issue or complaint with the way he installs baseboards. I asked him if he could make 45 degree cuts and he explained you only do this on outer corners and not inner corners. He said he can go out and caulk them but that I would need to wait till the end of November which is 1.5 months out. And blamed it on "bad communication" because I didn't explain that I wanted the baseboards installed the "other" way and "this is how it got done".I have never seen baseboards installed so poorly and never expected that there was a way where you smash and overlap baseboards. I also brought up how the door trim is pulling away from the wall and he explained that it's because the door trim is not painted. I also brought up how there were small pieces of baseboards missing near the doors. The cuts around the clean outs in the laundry room were also done very poorly leaving very chopped edges. After the back and forth and repeatedly asking if he could go back and fix it he said he didn't feel comfortable because I would "have a problem" with whatever he did. This was after I paid him $5,000+. Subsequently, I made five refund requests, all of which went unanswered as Joey seemed to have vanished. It's important to note that I sought a refund of only half the total amount, as I intended to use the funds to hire a more skilled professional capable of performing proper mitered corner installations. This entire experience is regrettable, reflecting poorly on Joey's integrity and work ethic. It is an unfortunate instance of a contractor failing to take pride in their work and refusing to collaborate in a timely manner to address issues. All the attached pictures depict the results of his work, which he deemed "completed."

We were getting on the waiting list. One of his painters has been with him for 26 years! They are meticulous when it comes to fixing all the cracks, peeling, and also rust on wrought iron fencing. They even take pictures to make sure all your backyard furniture is put back where it belongs! The block wall in our backyard separated vertically along the grout line due to tree roots, and they patched it for us. We originally wanted a flat sheen on the house, and Alex recommended a satin sheen, which we were iffy about, so we compromised and ended up using the eggshell, which turned out beautifully. Don't be afraid to try it. It will take the appearance of your home up a notch. You don't pay a cent until the work is completed to your satisfaction, and I was surprised to see so few reviews on Yelp, but he deserves 5 stars from us!
