Absolutely HORRIBLE customer 'service'. I truly wish I had known about BEFORE I dealt with them. STAY AWAY.

This is by far the most insane situation I've run into with a bank, they not only pulled a complete "bait and switch" move by luring customers in with a offer of an initial deposit of $100 credit to your account (that they never delivered) but then went so far as to shut down our checking account without request. The long and short of it is clear - they're a new bank (second branch just opened) and they're not doing well. When we opened our account there were no obligations, fees, or anything so we liked that flexibility and option to support a "local bank" that was trying to make a run of it. We quickly saw the problems with this "small is beautiful" situation as they took nearly two hours to open an account, required my wife and I return to the bank several times to actually make the account functional and then when we started to deposit money and cash checks they started asking weird questions like "What are you going to do with the money?" We were SHOCKED at the unprofessionalism so skeptical to develop much money in the account that would stay so I'd deposit money, wait until the check cleared and then go convert it to cash. Each time they would ask what I'm doing with the money, and went so far as to even at one point tell me they didn't have it to give back! We of course started to not seek this as a solution for long-term without more time and trust under our belts but then the most insane situation of all happened - a call from the bank came into our home out of the blue. They said they didn't like doing business with us and were essentially shutting down our account. When my wife told me this happened I couldn't believe it and assumed she must have misunderstood the person when they called. Nope, it was true and sure enough we received a letter and a check from the bank with our funds. Account closed without us even requesting it... Under normal situations I'd say, well, Homeland Security and such. This isn't the case here. This bank is marketing themselves as a "community bank" but I'm not sure what community they're seeking when this is the approach they take. I've told at least two dozen people about this and I work in the finance industry so word spreads fast. I'd be shocked if this bank floats long and if I were you and doing banking here I'd think long and hard about how much you trust them to hold YOUR MONEY, especially when they start asking you what you want to do with it upon withdraw! read more

Their team has demonstrated the worst service I have ever experienced. Their service is worse than airline service when your flight in canceled. It is worse than the Comcast service when you try to cancel your cable or your cable isn't working... I finalized an application to refinance my loans in the first week of December 2015. I had been on the phone with them a few times since October 2015 because the process was new to me. It had been very time-consuming and confusing understanding how to get all the exact documents they were requesting. But we got it done. Once it was finalized (December) I was told by the team at DRB that the underwriters would have an offer for me in 3-5 business days. When they did not present me an offer within 5 business days I called them. The team said that sometimes the process may take longer. Two weeks went by so I called again. The team replied, "sometimes it takes longer." And so now I have called a total of 7 times. It is now March 2nd, approximately THREE months. They don't know how much longer is needed. They don't have an answer for why it's taking so long. They don't know who is working on it. They don't know how long this process usually takes for other people in a similar financial position as myself. I have asked these questions each time I call, and no one has answers. No one even tries to help me. I work in service at a large corporation. Anything that takes this long is total incompetence. Three to five business days is plenty of time. Sure, if you're backlogged maybe a few more days is needed, I'd understand. But so far no one at the company knows whats going on. No one has answers. No one has apologized or said they can expedite the process. How could this take three months? Their lack of knowledge and understanding of the situation indicates to me a lack of responsibility and leadership on the managers role. Do not try to do business with them. I learned about DRB after reading an article in the Wall Street Journal about graduate student loan refinancing for young professionals who make steady incomes and shouldn't be paying 6+% interest rates on federal loans. It's pretty sad that's the best the government can offer, but with the rise of small companies such as DRB, I no longer have to pay 6%. I was paying 6% exactly with a small company called SoFi, which was also mentioned in the WSJ article. But that 6% was down from 6.25% with auto debit. The loan DRB offered me was 6%, but with auto debit, I'm down to 5.75%. I submitted applications with all the other lenders the WSJ article mentioned, including SunTrust and Citizens Bank, but DRB offered the best rate. I have thus far been happy with the customer service. Submitting all the paperwork to get the loan refinanced was a bit of a headache, and their web site is not the greatest, but when I had questions, a real human answered my calls usually within minutes. read more

This institution is truly awful, which you can tell from all the reviews here. They willfully and knowingly destroyed my credit because their internal system couldn't register my ontime payments for a period of time. Despite talking to them about it for months, they were unwilling to do anything about it. The people who work there, the institution, cares nothing for their customers or the damage they cause. Reconsider every doing any business with them. You are not a person, and they are not reasonable or empathetic. For them to have fixed my situation would have taken next to no effort on their part, but it would have been admitting that their systems were not up to date, so they would never do that. read more

Awful, awful experience with DRB. After reading all the posts below, I'm certainly not the only one. I've actually never posted anything on Yelp. No good reviews, no bad reviews. I'm so frustrated that here I am. I used to work in mortgage refinances. It's a very similar process. The client provides info. You use that info to see if there's a benefit to the client to refinance and then you get docs to make sure the information provided is accurate. All my info provided was accurate. You'd think that if you then provided the docs that proved that you'd be approved with a similar rate to what was quoted (it can change depending on changes in rate... the fed rates never really changed from when I applied). The final quote I was given was 2% higher and would have saved me absolutely nothing. Waste of time and a unneeded ding on my credit. To make any progress with my application, I would have to call and ask what the heck is going on. If they needed docs, I sent them. If they needed info, I filled it out. I did everything needed to get the loan moving. Still, nothing would get done unless I called. I don't work for Darien Rowayton Bank. Sorry. The people were always nice, but never knew what they were doing or what they were talking about. A microcosm of my experience is this: the last time I called after 2 weeks of silence, they said they were waiting on a second paystub. They never called me. They never e-mailed me. Yet, this is what was holding up the loan? 2 weeks passed and my rate went up 2%. No thanks. Overall, this is a bank that is unorganized, unprepared, and in a business where time is sensitive they have no urgency. Look elsewhere. Their rates aren't even great either. read more

I just refinanced $66k, and released my old co-signer. I'm happy with DRB. Everyone needs to know WHAT DRB IS, in order to understand why some people on here are having issues. This is the only way you will understand how to deal with them. The fact is DRB is a small bank, and I presume that resources are spread thin. You will have to wait, and call them a few times to ensure that the process is progressing forward. Their systems that they have are currently not functioning properly (i.e. it will keep sending you emails indicating that documents were due when they were not, in fact, due). They seem to have bottle necks in underwriting. If you get past this and politely stay on top of them.... you will get a good rate. Learn to deal with people and politely drive results. This is an important trait for everyone to have in your professional career, anyway. read more

Let me preface this with the fact that DRB sent me a pre-approval letter, which is the reason I picked them over SoFi. I have a credit score well over 700 and graduated with a job out of college paying $65,000. That said, the DRB team couldn't get their s*** together AND TOOK OVER SEVEN MONTHS TO REVIEW AND PROCESS MY REFINANCE. Yes, over SEVEN MONTHS. I applied in November and called in multiple times every month, getting the same scripted response "the application is currently in review and we don't have an expected time of completion yet." It's currently JUNE and my funds were just disbursed. And what was the offer? A whopping 6% refinance on a 10 year loan. FAR BELOW their advertised rates, considering I have high job stability and a credit score in the high 700's. But it doesn't end there. The user interface of DRB's website is absolute garbage. Finding the monthly payment and detailed information on the loan is extremely difficult. This was hands down the single worst experience I have EVER had with a bank and I will look forward to refinancing with another bank next year. read more

Not sure why the listings were removed, but people should definitely be able to have the benefit of these reviews when deciding whether or not to refinance loans through DRB. Specifically it is curious as DRB asked that I review them on Yelp.. Original review follows: I've waited a while to write this review, but I wanted the chance to have the loan be funded and make my first auto-payment before providing a review. Bottom Line: If you are patient you can really score with a great rate from DRB. If you need to ReFi quickly, I'd suggest SoFi or another lender as they had much quicker turnarounds. Positives: DRB has the best rates, the beat my SoFi quote and others by more than an entire percentage point on the same terms. This alone makes the entire process (described below) worth it. To the extent you are able to reach actual people on the phone or a personal email address they are very helpful. Negatives: Although I hesitate to call these "negatives", they could use some improvement, and are important factors for those of you considering going through the application process. I first applied around July 30 and my loan was funded on September 16. From what I've read this seems to be about average for DRB. If that is too long for you, I suggest you look elsewhere. For me it seems entirely reasonable to take that long given the six figure amount they were financing on my behalf. The initial process was cumbersome with their online servicer (CampusDoor), but relatively straightforward if you can follow directions. Within a couple of weeks of uploading all of my documents I was informed that my application would be brought "in house" and processed by what I assume is an actual DRB employee and not CampusDoor. Overall I cannot complain much about this process, but I should note that I would've appreciated more communication, even if it was just to say "we're processing this, and expect it to take X days." However, when I called the receptionist was very helpful and I wish I could remember her name (Stephanie maybe?). Jessica was phenomenal working me through the approval process and the rest of the people who facilitated my final approval/funding were helpful as well, but could also have been more proactive in the communication department. All-in-all communication is probably in need of the most improvement. Something you should also know is that the .25% discount for auto-pay only applies if its auto-paid from a DRB checking account, but they will set one up for you and you can link your primary account to fund it. Having taken that route it worked the first month without incident. DRB simply deducts your payment about two days before its due and then the payment is debited from your DRB account on the due date. read more

Don't waste your time with this company. I applied back in March to refinance my 6 private student loans from college which were about $55k. After spending a ton of time sending docs (transcripts, job letters, multiple bills with my address, paystubs, passport, payoffs of all student loans, interest rates, first born child) and a hard credit inquiry, they discriminated against me because I was a base/commission employee with a base of $45k, even though the pay stub I submitted showed a gross of $8300 for the previous month of February. They said I need to make at least $50k base. I should've stopped right there and told them to go fuck themselves but I kept them in mind in case I changed jobs. Well I did a few months ago. Now my base is 55k so I figured now I can qualify. Again, hard inquiry (my credit score is a 738 btw) and ridic documents. This time I got the answer - Cancelled - Borrower Debt-to-Income Ratio Exceeds Allowable Limit - Reapply Option . When I first submitted the app they knew my income and debt, but still proceeded to do another hard inquiry and run me through hoops of documents where they even asked for a second set of documents. I read many concerning reviews about DRB and their loan consolidation online but decided to try applying simply because they advertised their rates to be so low. What an awful waste of time. They make comcast customer service look good. Three months into the process and I still don't have any paperwork generated to sign despite receiving verbal approval. And now each time I call, they either tell me that they have just emailed me the final paperwork, or tell me that they have no trace of my application. I'm now applying with Sofi. read more

I had previously refinanced half of my loans (50k) through Lendkey (-which satisfied me). I attempted to refinance my other 48k with DRB. They pulled a 756 Credit Score on me and I make close to 100k/ year. There should be no reason to deny me. I will take my business elsewhere. After watching 60 Minutes last night, I remembered that this review was long overdue. There was a piece on 4 people whose identities had been stolen. A woman who had $80,000 in "her" bank, and could not withdraw any money, and was forced to live in her car for 6 months. I turned to my husband and said "And that is why we bank at Darien Rowayton Bank. That would never happen to us." I worked for a bank many years ago and learned the difference between a "Commerical Bank" and a bank that is geared toward the individual, or small business, like Darien Rowayton. There is nothing that can take the place of bank employees who know our names, who call when something doesn't look quite right, and who just go the extra mile, every single day. When we purchased a piece of property out of state, DRB prepared all of the checks. The attorney for the seller changed the closing amounts at the last minute, so all of the checks had to be mailed back to DRB, overnight, and re-issued. The Rowayton manager went out of her way to make sure that the checks arrived over night by FED-EX, and kept us up to date on everything that was happening on their end. I do not expect that I would have ever had the kind of service that we experienced during this stressful time, anywhere else. One day a year or so ago, I called the manager to let them know that our credit cards had been scammed. The credit card company was another bank, who told us to watch all accounts and all banks. We left town on business, the following day. Within a few hours of landing, the DRB manager called to ask whether we had tried to "link" another account to our bank accounts. Of course we had not. DRB immediately shut down all of our accounts, and opened new accounts for us. No BS of faxing or emailing signature cards, or multiple phone calls. When we returned from our trip, all paperwork was ready and waiting, for signatures. No waiting around. Everything had already been done. I cannot even begin to remember the number of times that we call ahead and ask for something to be done before we arrive, because we are in a rush. The tellers are professional, fast and knowledgeable. Every request is met with a "Can DO" attitude. They know us; they know our kids; they know our employees. We have our business accounts and personal accounts here. We moved across town - closest DRB was about 15-20 minute ride, but we did not change banks. Just invaluable service. My review was taken down for a second time... Tons of medical school loans, initially refinanced w/ DRB in 2015.....or tried to at least. It took 10 months for the paperwork to be 'finalized.' I'd call to see what the hold up was, would always end up speaking with someone new, who didn't have any idea who I spoke with the last time and I'd have to start all over. When they finally sent the loan agreement, the terms and agreed-upon interest rates were much different from what I'd been quoted by the last helpful person on the phone. Had to send it back twice more to get things right. This is their job, but oddly enough I was the one finding errors - that would have ended up costing quite a bit with $300k in loans. I hung in for a while, then ended up getting refinanced w/ Earnest. It's been SO MUCH EASIER to deal with them, their reps on the phone, and their website. Things were done in a reasonable (fast) time; my loan agreement was back to me and set up in less than a month. I tried to use DR Bank to refinance my student loans. I also applied to several other institutions to get the best rate. In the end I decided to go with SoFi. Don't even waste your time with DRB. They were by far the worst on every category. After submitting the application and required paperwork, it took 30 days for them to get me any sort of interest rate quote. SoFi did it immediately, the same day. DR Bank gave me 2% interest rate higher than SoFi for a 15 year refinance (compared to 20 year for SoFi). It wasn't even close. Also, after my application was complete, I was bombarded with email messages every single day telling me to consent to a hard credit pull -- it was maddening and there is no option to opt out of emails or stop the messages. Also it was not easy to delete my account, I had to email support to do it. So disappointed. Complete waste of my time.i read more

I refinanced my student loans through DRB and overall had a good experience. I will save a lot of money over the course of my loans. I did take off 1 star in the rating because 1) the timeline they advertise is not realistic, expect to spend 45 days or so getting approved at the least 2) the lowest rates they advertise seem to be impossible to really achieve. Pros: Lower rate, friendly communication when you would speak with someone Cons: The "campus door" website is old and can be slow to update, The timeline they state to refinance your loan is greatly underestimated. The lowest rates seem to be impossible- on many websites people have great credit scores with tremendous cash flow and can't qualify for the best rates. Overall the experience is worth it but it would be a little easier if they laid out a realistic timeline and rates from the beginning. read more

Avoid this company at all cost. I applied for a loan to reconsolidate my student loans. After submitting all of the required documents, I waited to hear about the decision. A month later, no one had contacted me, therefore, I reached out via email and asked what the status was. At this time, they informed me that my application wasn't approved. The reason: debt-to-income ratio. This was absurd as my debt-to-income ratio is ~27% without a cosigner. (I talked with financial people in a variety of banks and they informed me a debt-to-income ratio of 40% is normally acceptable) However, I also had my parents cosign (no debt, house paid for, still working) and my credit score is in the high 700s. I responded with an email displaying all of the math and asked if they made a mistake on their end (double counting the new loan as well as the old loan). Instead of a response, I received a "Unfortunately your application was not approved and you do not have the option to reapply with a cosigner. " Seeing where this was headed, I had to contact their headquarters for an answer. The answer I received was unbelievable."Please note that student loan balances were not duplicated when calculating your D to I ratio, but rent/mortgage expense is included." As I am living at home currently (to pay off these loans) I do not have a mortgage/rent responsibility. I responded with exactly that. DRB's response? "Although you currently do not have a mortgage or rent, we do take housing costs into consideration as a potential future expense." This company is unbelievable. If at 27% debt-to-income ratio is acceptable, I can't imagine who they are approving. Save yourself the hassle and go with SoFi. Nearly the same rate without any of the hassle. read more

Like many others here, I've applied to consolidate a student loan through this bank, only to wait for months after "approval" for my loan to be funded. I applied for DRB to refinance a med school residency and relocation loan (an awful, predatory loan lots of med students are forced to take out when applying for residency, with greater than 12% interest) currently at $24k. I first applied to them 12-18 months ago, and AFTER I went through the whole application process (including the bank pulling a hard credit inquiry on me), they denied it because the loan "isn't available to people currently in residency," although that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the website or application. I then applied again this past fall after completing residency. The consolidation loan was approved in October 2015, and I immediately signed and returned all of the paperwork at that time. November 2015 -- over a month past signing closing paperwork for the loan, I called the bank and was told my payment should come through by the end of the week. January 2016 -- received a voice mail on my phone from DRB stating that "funds had been delayed," but that it would be processed soon. 2/18/16 -- still waiting on that loan to be funded. I called again today, and was told what lots others here have posted about "waiting for funds to come through." It sounds like this bank has purchased a lot more student loans than they can currently handle. Meanwhile, I'm still paying hundreds of dollars of interest per month on the greater than 12% loan I applied to have refinanced. I would just cancel DRB altogether and try another institution, except they've already pulled TWO hard credit inquiries on and I don't want that to be for nothing. IF my payment ever comes through, I'll raise my rating to 2*. read more

I've been wanting to refinance my student loans for a while now. DRB offers the lowest rates, however the negative yelp reviews made me hesitant. I decided to go through with the process anyways and honestly I thought the process was fairly straightforward. I mean, refinancing itself isn't a glamorous task ..so yes, you do have to be prepared to collect the right documentation (which truthfully can be irritating) but it kind of comes with the territory. I won't say it was the easiest process, but I got my decision back in about 1-2 weeks. And compared with the process of getting a mortgage, it was a cakewalk. And I think the amount of effort I had to put forward was minimal compared to the rate they gave me, so definitely worth it in the end. I see that some people here had poor experiences with DRB, but for me personally I went through the process without any hiccups. read more

One word: Patience. DRB is a small bank that specializes in student loan refinancing. That's why I went with them, and I assume a lot of other people have, too. With so many applications to such a small bank, processing is slow. DRB is not flashy, their website isn't super nice, and they won't give you an instant rate quote. The time from the application, to approval, to first disbursement is about a month. It's worth it. I got the lowest rate through DRB, by far. Even though it took a while, I was easily able to access their customer service, who was beyond helpful and friendly. When something happened with Navient and the transfer, DRB got me on a three-way call with them to straighten the problem out. My loan payments went down by roughly $100/month, which lets me pay more than my monthly payment. They are fantastic. So, yeah--you'll wait a month, but if you're patient, you'll get the best interest rate around and be a very, very happy camper. read more

DRB directed me to their online application process. The website is slow and poorly designed. It really doesn't make you feel very secure in providing them your personal financial details. Like all the comments below, over the following days-weeks, I was repeatedly contacted by DRB and asked to re-upload and even email (unsecure) multiple private confidential documents again. The representatives seem constantly confused about what is required and what I have provided. Then I am told by email that my interest rate had changed, but I am only given a range of 2.99-4.99% and that the rate quoted is never final until the loan is actually issued. My experience with this bank was truly a nightmare and still is. My experience with them is in attempt to consolidate my student loans. I started the application process with them in August and it is now mid way through December. It took them 45 days and plenty of unreturned calls to get back to me with an offer. As anyone else would do - I also applied to a bunch of other consolidation firms. DRB's reply took so long that I missed by deadline to sign with any other firm that I applied to and got offers from. Honestly, it's not the amount of delays they have, it's how much their reps lie when you call. Many times, I would call for a simple update and every rep would guarantee that I would have an answer by end of week. After they got back to me with my first offer, I was surprised because it was higher than the others offers I got - I lost out on these because of the amount of time I mistakenly waited on an answer from DRB. I almost think these is a scheme with the way they act when I call. When I got my initial offer, I immediately called DRB and asked why it was so high compared to my other offers. They looked at the results (on their end) and told me on 4 separate occasions that they would "send it back to under writing and have them see if they can do lower". This was a false promise given to be multiple times. I waited weeks and called about once a week for an update from this and they had no answer from underwriting. Finally, my wait brought me to the week before November 28th which was the last day I could sign for my initial offer. After dealing with this terror for the past few months, at this point, I just wanted to sign and start my consolidation payments. I immediately signed on about November 23rd. It is now December 15th and I still have not heard from them. I again called today to ask why my payments haven't start and the rep told me they should move forward by the end of the week. I don't believe that one bit after the past few months. This has truly been a nightmare and I have no idea where my student loans stand now. I've been closing my usual high payments for months now, since I started the application process. I'm honestly scared what this is going to turn into. I'm not sure what steps to take next. I used them to refinance my student loans. They offer the best rates around. They did take a while to process my application, around a month, despite using the newer portal. There really doesn't seem to be a reason for "processing" to take an entire month. However, it is worth jumping through the hoops and waiting because of the lower rates. I have the good fortune of experiencing the Darien Rowayton Bank on both a personal and professional level. DRB is the quintessential neighborhood bank. Everyone knows my wife and I on a first name basis, calls whenever there is a question and responds immediately to any concerns. Whether it's coffee an Saturday, stopping in for my Tootsie Pop fix, taking advantage of their free shredding service or requesting a loan I know the DRB is there for me. Several years after opening our personal account I took an executive position with one of the longest standing most respected companies in Fairfield County CT. Coincidently they already had a banking relationship with DRB. Now I had the pleasure of seeing the bank through different eyes. A first class organization by any standard. The bankers come with outstanding backgrounds and experience. I meet with our Senior Vice President on a regular basis and feel he knows and understands our business as well as I do. I'm particularly impressed with their non structured training program. On non confidential matters he frequently will have a younger person he is mentoring sit in on our meetings. BE AWARE! Although DRB has low rates for refinancing student loans, they do not wire transfer the loan amount to the initial loan holder. You will be charged interest by DRB the date your loan has funded and continue to be charged interest on your initial loan until the paper check DRB has mailed them has been processed. What I also fnd odd is that I refinanced a SoFi-Mohela loan that turned into a DRB-Mohela loan. Worst loan servicing platform I've ever experienced...I am even willing to pay higher interest rate for my loans to not go through DRB's loan payment process. I was okay with the delayed loan processing time (took months - vs. SOFI took days). But the way platform is setup is really unbearable... Here are the issues that I am facing 1. Unable to set up payment - You cannot simply use your existing debit card or checking account to pay/set up auto pay (how all other loan servicing company take payment). You must use DRB's checking account to make payment (you can write checks and mail it as well but who does that?). - No clear instruction about how to do set up your DRB checking account to pay your loan. If you try to pay by using pay option, the system will give you system error message "An unexpected system error occurred. Please try your request later. If the problem persists, please contact customer service.". The error message does not explain what you need to do - it just says try it later. - You can use your current bank's bill pay option but, it will cost you wire transaction fee. The whole process is set to force you to use DRB's checking account (if I knew I had to do this I would not have made a deal with DRB). 2. Customer service regarding #1 - I asked about the error message. Customer service said that "well, you didn't set things up correctly that's why the error message showed. You need to set things up correctly"... Really? If the error message is telling me that unexpected system error occurred instead of what I missed, how could users/customers know? Overall very disappointing experience with DRB. read more

THE WORST. I had a loan application in for 4 MONTHS to refinance my student loans. I applied 11/22/15. It is now 3/23/16 and I have not heard anything. I have called and emailed numerous times to try to find out when I would even get a quote for a rate and was told it was in "underwriting" each time. It's like talking to a brick wall. There was no end in sight. I just called and cancelled my application today. I have excellent credit (around 800 score) make good money and it seems that they just don't care about customers. I went with one of their competitors!! Don't even bother applying for a loan here. read more

Refinancing with DRB bank was my worst decision as a college graduate. They took 6 months to get my loan approved. Then they sent me a letter and told me that the first payment was due but never told me my account number. After I had to call to find out my account number, i finally set up on an online account. Their website is so terrible I cant figure out how to pay. I would rather pay more money for better service. read more

Horrible. They're probably a scam. I applied for a student loan refinance, have excellent credit, income, etc but no one ever contacted me to follow up and try to get my business. I only received automatic email confirmations after submitting application documents. It's been 10 days and no one bothered to communicate with mr, so why should I bother chasing them down? I'm taking my business elsewhere! There are plenty of legitimate banks who'd be happy to make money off my $100k student loan! read more

Horrible experience so far!!! I refinanced my student loans with drb based on online reviews and friend's recommendations. It started out great - I was promised a rate a 3.75% fixed ( much better than the gov 6.8%). Anyways that was almost 3 months ago and no money has been sent to pay off my loans. This is unbelievable! Everytime I call to check on the status I get the same run around and false promises about the following week. I'm done, I'll be trying another company such as Sofi. read more

I reconsolidated with them about 2 years ago and the customer service is terrible. I am now reconsolidating with another bank at 3.75% interest over 15 years. The best that DR could do was 6%. read more

Terrible experience. Worst decision ever to get a loan with them. After all the promos is and incentives let alone their extremely complicated ways of managing payments. In just 2 months my loan gets transferred and my money gets lost is so many cracks I get late payments and now I'm paying 30$ more monthly. They are unprofessional and non trust worthy. read more

I attempted to refinance with DRB last year, but barely didn't qualify because I wouldn't take on a co-signer. After a year I tried again (successfully) after receiving a raise and paying down my fed loans. Last year the process was a bit cumbersome and it felt like I had to provide a lot of information in different waves to different people. This time, however, they have greatly improved the process and it was all done on-line and very quickly. I am the type that is super anxious and controlling when it comes to my finances, and I made multiple calls and sent emails to follow up. Each phone call was answered and my concerns resolved immediately, and each email was responded to quickly. Additionally, they offer a interest reduction in you set up automatic withdrawal from one of their checking accounts. They set this up for me on their own and it is very convenient. The one feature that I would prefer to see the ability to connect my non-DRB checking account to my DRB checking account so that I can electronically transfer funds in order to more easily make extra payments on my loan. All in all I have recommended DRB to many of my friends and colleagues, and I am very pleased with the interest rate I received (5% fixed - 10 year) payment lowered from $1,068 to $756. read more

Wish I would have read reviews on this one first. Recommended by a friend. We started the process in November 2015. It is now April 2016. Haven't herd anything since December. it is in "underwriting". So good thing we did a 45 day payoff amount. Don't think that is going to be good 5 MONTHS LATER!!! read more
