Imagine. It's Friday…read moreand you just slammed your work computer shut for the day. You're basking in pre-weekend bliss, about to enjoy a half hour of peace before picking up your kiddos and starting a jam packed Mother's Day weekend. You then receive a call from your kiddos' elementary school. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. It's the school nurse. Your seven year old was running in PE class, was tripped by a classmate and gracefully broke his fall with his two front teeth. You're told to both call a dentist immediately and come get him. Well that went 0 to 100 REAL quick. You then contact your family dentist (not The Children's Dental Center) and they get him in within the hour. The next half hour involves bribes, restraints, screaming, kicking, hitting and tears. It is traumatizing for all involved, but especially the kiddo missing literally half of both of his front teeth. Nope-- that is not going to work-- a pediatric dentist is needed. We left with a list of referrals with a kiddo still sans front teeth. I called Dr Jenn on a Friday (they're closed) and left a desperate message on both the office's line and her emergency line. She got back to within 15 minutes saying since I was not a current patient she could not help immediately but gave me a plan of action in the mean time. I really appreciated that, even if I couldn't get in feeling heard eased my mind. Fast forward to Monday and her office called me by 8AM and had set up an appointment for 3:30PM that day. (I couldn't get into any other pediatric dentist that day-- or that week in some cases.) I didn't even know that dentist office lived there, just off 965 on Oakdale. What a nice location! We arrived and instantly were impressed the whimsical decor of the waiting room. The staff is INSANELY cheerful, knowledgeable and kind. We waiting a whopping five minutes and were taken to the room. Luke was so happy to find Bluey playing on the ceiling TV. Laughing gas was used (it smelled like oranges). Dr. Jenn was patient and really eased Luke's mind. We all left SO MUCH LESS TRAUMATIZED and, most importantly, with our teeth intact. Huzzah. (They were even able to use the broken off pieces for repair? Mind blowing.) Additionally, kids leave with a token to use for a prize machine. What a nice touch! They truly have thought of everything at The Children's Dental Center. I have to note: as you can imagine, something like rebuilding a majority of two front teeth isn't cheap. And while we have insurance, it is nice to be in the know prior to the procedure what exactly is being sent to Delta Dental. I did really appreciate being shown the charges before so there were no surprises. Thank you for that. I have a nine year old and a seven year old-- we have never used a pediatric dentist until now. I feel like we would have had SO much better experiences had we. The infinite patience shown by every staff member was mind blowing and the tricks they can pull of out their sleeves are endless compared to the average family dentist. I without a doubt recommend Dr Jenn and her team at The Children's Dental Center and Luke will continue going there until he can't!

When she asked about insurance, she was told the office would bill the insurance... and they were not transparent or disclosing that they were not in-network. Standard line is, we'll submit your insurance and you owe the remainder; however, no where in the information my daughter was told did the staff tell her they were OUT-of-network, were NOT a preferred provider or that they were NOT an in-network provider for any insurance companies. Dr. Pritts has many positive reviews, but my daugher was passed on to the associate dentist who is inexperienced and rough. I attempted to resolve the lack of transparancy with their billing with the practice, but they were unwilling to acknowlege the concern suggesting unrealistic options that a college student can't afford.

Wow my 3 year old's first trip to the Dentist could have went two ways.. A miracle or a disaster…read more. I can remember being afraid at the dentist till I was about well 35 years old so I can only imagine how my 3 year old would do! But Children's Dental Center was the perfect spot to make him feel safe, and at home! This place rules every inch of the building just beams fun, from the waiting room, to the prize pick up spot! They have toys to play with, bright colored chairs, and kids movies playing! The front dest staff was super welcoming. Brittany the hygienist did a great job making my son Nilsson feel at home, letting him pick a movie to watch and doing a really good job making him feel like he was a part of the experience with all the choices being his! What flavor cleaner he wanted, and letting him feel brushes before they went into his mouth! He did a great job with her! The Dentist also came in with a smile and made Nils feel safe and that it was a fun experience! After he was done he gave Nilsson my son a big high five and told him to grab some tokens and pick out a prize from the prize wall.. Naturally he choose two bouncy balls, like we need more balls! We got a really great welcome pack with t-shirt, tooth brush, magnet, and more info on how to best treat Nilsson's growing teeth! What a great experience.. Service is terrible, my daughter had a tooth pulled and the numbing agent made the wrong part of her mouth numb, but was rebuffed when she complained about pain. She sobbed for hours after because it hurt so badly and no one cared, just yank and say it will be done soon. And the ortho side doesn't take our insurance...the old dentist was also orthodontist and was fully covered. Bad experiences most days. Would not recommend.
