This is a sports complex, why is all the food fried at the concessions stand? And you do not allow people to come inside with outside food that is healthy. 3. The registration is horrific. Not automated. Just one person handing hundreds of kids that is required to ask for more verification than the government needs for a passport. 4. The place needs a make over. The AHU's in the back of the building is absolutely filthy pushing poor air into the sport complex. I can look past a lot of these issues, but to add injury to insult, the refs are FIXED to ensure the home team wins, but any means necessary. YOU CAN DO BETTER! SHAME!

I used to also visit the fair/amusement park they used to have in the parking lot many years back. Until something nonsensical and idiotic happened that rendered it permanently discontinued. We decided to grab tickets to the "We Them Ones" Comedy Tour for Saturday night. The show started…read moreat 8pm but we arrived around 7:30pm. The parking lot across the street was being patrolled by police and they were also guiding us where to park, which was helpful. Even though there was a large crowd of people all walking in at the same time, getting into the Coliseum was very easy. Once we walked through the detector and had our tickets scanned, we were able to walk right inside to our seats. There were some lines for drinks and snacks but since we ate previously, we didn't grab anything. We purchased Floor Seats (Row 30) but unfortunately, the seats were the foldable, metal kind and were very small. By the time everyone got to their seat, it felt like we were sitting on top of each other, they were also quite uncomfortable. The show was great though! Mike Epps was the headliner but Mojo Brooks, Chico Bean, Karlous Miller and DC Young Fly were some of the comedians that also performed as well. We definitely had some good laughs. Leaving from the parking lot was difficult because everyone was trying to leave at the same time. It would've been nice if they had someone outside patrolling the parking lots after the show as well. It took us quite some time to actually get to the main road. Outside of that, we had a great time and we'd definitely return.

The on-track competition is amazing too. The highlight is the late model stock cars, Langley has one of the most competitive fields in the country. Nice mix of former national champs and up and coming stars. Some of the best have cut their teeth here, including Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott, and so many more. The tickets are really affordable, and so are the concessions. The concession stand's quality is excellent as well. Don't miss the "redneck fries". The track is a great place to bring the kids too. There's a playground, kids club, and discounted tickets. There's no better place for a Saturday night out in Hampton!

The Convocation Center is where Hampton University play home basketball games. My brother college…read morebasketball team played against HU. All seats in the arena has a good view of the floor. If the arena is not filled by half-time, spectators can move closer to the bottom (if seats are available). The food options are limited but you will find typical arena food (popcorn,candy,chip,hot dogs,soda, etc).The players Will Call is located inside of the building near Sections B & C. There was plenty of parking next to the arena. I give Hampton University Convocation Center a 3.5 rating.

Security guards seem to take bribes to pick and choose who was let into the venue. After standing in line for over two hours the performer was let on stage and the crowd outside of the venue was not contained. The doors of the venue was shut. Associates from the ticket counter said no refunds would be given then proceeded to open up the door and allow two unaccompanied minors in. Was a disaster.

Review of Hampton University - Returning Parent Perspective…read more My student is entering her second year at Hampton University. I have been pleased with the educational department, the faculty, and the overall campus environment. However, like many HBCUs, the campus is in dire need of repairs--air conditioning, elevators, and other essential facilities are outdated or frequently out of service. The most frustrating and disappointing aspect of our experience has been the Financial Aid Office. It is, without a doubt, one of the least responsive offices I've encountered at any college. Calls go unanswered, counselors fail to return messages, and form requests are ignored. For the past six weeks, I have been trying--unsuccessfully--to speak with a financial aid counselor. Two weeks ago, after contacting the President's Office, I was assured someone would follow up, but that never happened. Living over four hours away makes in-person visits impractical. With my student returning to campus in just one week--still facing financial uncertainty--I feel as though we are right back where we started last year. This is my second child to attend college, and as an HBCU graduate myself, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, my experience leads me to caution other parents: save yourself the stress and the $45,000 per year--consider a PWI where administrative support is more reliable.

I believe myself and my family have attended since 2012…read more This year the location was outside of the Hampton Convention Center than its usual location, outside of Military Circle Mall (The Galleria). In my opinion, the vibe was a bit different this time around. I am usually hyped about all the acts from start to finish. My favorite act, which returned this year, the motorcyclists, daredevils ... they amaze me every single time! Only three cyclists appeared this year, but the act was still super thrilling! A few new acts made an appearance this year... some were good while others were just OK. Nevertheless, this circus is pretty much the only well known circus that is still in existence. The Universoul Circus comes to the area faithfully. I recommend you check it out next year or in an area nearby. They will usually run the circus for 5 to 7 days. And this year, the show at Hampton started July 31st and ended August 4th. The prices can range from $10 to $30... keep your eyes peeled for special offers going forward. Parking... plenty. Restrooms are located outside the big top. And yes, the circus is under a huge tent... outside... under the BIG TOP it's air conditioned and super comfy. There is almost not a bad seat, but I do recommend section G. A great family outing if you love a good time. Have fun and enjoy life :)

I am currently a student here. The professors are wonderful, the admin staff is incompetent. I…read morechatted with a live agent named Sabrina who was incredibly rude, and when I asked for a number for accounting, she gave me a number to a professor. I sent a lengthy email to accounting, they looked over all my concerns and answered the most irrelevant part of my email. I asked about a FA refund and mentioned that one that just was released wasn't showing up as well. I mentioned a refund that was supposed to be disbursed a month ago 4x in this email and there was no mention of it in their reply. I could go on and on and on. Are the professors great? Absolutely! But they need a complete revamp of their admin.(The advising counselors are great though!)

I am very irritated and annoyed with how I have been treated at this college. I would say I enjoyed my classes with great professors but getting enrolled and getting help with other things has been very hectic.
