I strongly advise others to think twice before using RTL. They were hired by my body corporate to fix a sewerage pipeline leak. On 24 February 2025, while I was not home, they broke into my private garden without my permission, cutting off my lock and breaking my gate to gain access. After I raised a complaint, they insisted that they had informed us about needing access to our yard. However, on their notification email, it made no mention of this at all. Worse still, RTL seems to believe that simply informing you--regardless of whether you approve it or not--gives them the right to break into your property. This is extremely concerning and raises serious safety issues. Although they replaced the lock, they refused to take responsibility for fixing the gate. They claimed it was broken due to aging--when in fact, it was perfectly fine before they forced their way in. To make matters worse, they provided a ridiculously high quote of $4,800 to replace a simple 4m wooden gate. I later obtained a quote from another contractor for only $2000+ for a hard wooden gate and $3,000+ for a Colorbond gate, which is a far better material.

Now that we are planning on doing a bathroom renovation and need some council plans approved, we have been advised that the work that was done was not to legal council standards. We tried to call Earthwise to rectify the problem but as it was a while ago, they have quoted us even more money. Mum is not happy and neither am I. When we get a tradie to come and do work, we expect it to be done to a legal standard. We make the assumption that tradies will do it to a legal standard so we don't have to worry about it anymore. This small job is now costing us a large amount of money and even though the work that was done initially was sound, the fact that we were not told of or made aware that the fix was not legal does not sit very well with me. Renovations are still going ahead thank goodness, but our bank account has taken a hit.
