This Holiday Inn Express is located around 2.5 miles from the city centre of Lichfield, closer to…read morethe villages of Wall and Shenstone. It's close to the main A5 road, as well as a couple of minutes from a junction of the M6 Toll Road. Whilst the address says Lichfield it is important to note that it's not in the city centre, and that you'll need your own transport, or use a taxi service, if you'd like to explore more of Lichfield. It's a fairly recently built hotel, and the rooms are comfortable, and really well maintained. Similarly to most places in the area, the people working here are friendly and really helpful - it's one of the benefits of staying in a hotel outside of a main city - Birmingham city centre is around 25 minutes drive, or train journey away from the train station in Shenstone. For this reason I could recommend this hotel for someone wanting a good level of comfort, but away from a major city centre. Birmingham Airport and the NEC are around 30 minutes drive away. Breakfast is included in all room rates, and weekend rates are a few pounds cheaper than during the week. There's ample parking here, with the hotel situated on an estate, alongside a McDonalds and an Esporta health and fitness centre. Otherwise, there are many fields that surround the hotel. Overall, you get a decent level of service, a tranquil environment, and access to a major trunk roads just a few minutes from the hotel. The nearby villages of Shenstone and Wall both have places to eat and drink at. Wall has one pub - 'The Trooper', which is worth a visit.

And as well as many amateur performances, you can also find some real gem performances by professionals or artists. They don't offer free tickets for people with disabilities that need assistance, but access is good and the staff very helpful and friendly.

A smaller more intimate theatre compared to those in Birmingham (Alexandra, Rep etc,.) but well…read morepresented and organised. Modern on the inside, the cafe is really lovely and spacious. Good array of snacks for the interval and a well-stocked bar. Went to a daytime matinee with kids - which was really good fun - but would love to go back of an evening to see what kind of atmosphere/clientele then. I think it helps that the show we went to see was hilarious and really entertaining , not only did my son love it but the adults could not help joining in too(then again I am a big kid still at heart). We watched a musical production of 'The Ugly Duckling' which was very much in the pantomime type audience participation vein. My son started off thinking he was way too cool to join in, but after the first half hour he was clapping his hands and screaming out loud with the best of 'em. The other thing I liked is that they were not too pushy with the whole merchandise sales. There was a booth in the foyer for the kids to buy from - little keepsakes etc,. but they were just kind of there - not being shoved in your face as I have witnessed at other similar events. Location is really convenient too, right next to a multi-storey and near the main shops in the centre of Lichfield. Will go back for a more 'serious' production and let you know my update soon.

However, this is a review for their meeting rooms. There are a range of meeting rooms available for hire. I use the therapy rooms which are inviting and neutrally decorated. The rooms are in a quiet location at the rear of the building whilst being well heated so your clients will be comfortably warm. The toilets are also clean, well maintained and conveniently positioned within the building. Booking is easy and takes a quick telephone call. There is an inviting reception area with seating and welcoming staff to greet your clients.
